Delete Your uListen Account

This page explains how to delete your uListen account and all associated data. Deleting your uListen account does not affect your Google account — you will still be signed in to Gmail, YouTube, and other Google services. If you change your mind later, you can reconnect at any time by signing in with the same Google account.

How to Delete Your Account

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is removed from our live systems:

• Your email address
• Your uListen user ID and account record
• Your sign-in session and refresh tokens
• Your usage records (which episodes you opened, search queries you made)
• Any saved highlights, playback history, and app preferences stored on our servers

What Does Not Get Deleted

For transparency, the following data is either kept for a short period or not under our control:

• Your Google account is not affected in any way. Deleting uListen does not change your Google account.
• Server logs containing IP addresses and request metadata automatically expire after 90 days per our standard retention policy. They are not used to track users.
• Database backups may contain a copy of your data for a short period before they expire on their normal rotation. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
• Crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics are not linked to your user account (we do not call setUserId), but they may contain a Firebase installation identifier that expires per Firebase's retention policy (typically 90 days).
• Locally cached data on your device (cached episodes, playback preferences) is removed when you uninstall the app.

Processing Time

• Email request: Processed within 7 days. We will reply to confirm when the deletion is complete.
• GDPR context: We erase personal data without undue delay upon request, as required by GDPR Article 17. Residual copies in short-term database backups expire on their normal rotation and are never restored.

Reconnecting Later

Because uListen uses Sign in with Google, you can reconnect at any time by opening the app again and signing in with the same Google account. You will start fresh — previous usage history, saved highlights, and preferences will not be restored.
