    If you were born with a brain that's different than how we all assume the world is, that makes things that are easy for everyone else harder for you, but it's invisible, then how are you going to grow up? You're going to grow up, research shows, with 20,000 more negative messages than your average peers by the age of 14. So if we were age 14 at the same time, I would've gotten 20,000 fewer negative messages than you. "Alex, what's wrong? Alex, why can't you get it together? Alex, you should have done... Alex, you said you were gonna... Alex," blah, blah, blah. Well, is it a surprise that people then go into life and experience deep shame and fear of being rejected? 20,000. That's just by age 14. It doesn't stop miraculously when you hit 14
