EVERY SPOKEN WORD

  1. 0:0015:00

    What is that thing…

    1. JR

What is that thing you say when you clink glasses? So-

    2. EV

Slainte is like the Irish, you know, salute. Or, or, you know, na zdravie. It's just the Irish version, slainte.

    3. JR

      Ha. Slainte?

    4. EV

      Slainte.

    5. JR

      Slainte.

    6. EV

      Yeah, like-

    7. JR

      Slainte.

    8. EV

      ... S-L-A-I-N-T-E, I believe is how it's spelled name.

    9. JR

      Oh.

    10. EV

      Slainte.

    11. JR

Ooh. I never knew that. You've said it before and I always just let it slide, 'cause I didn't want to seem like a dork.

    12. EV

      Yeah.

    13. JR

(laughs) You know? It's one of those things where-

    14. EV

I'm probably saying it real bu-... I mean, like, you know-

    15. JR

      It is.

    16. EV

... Gaelic is some real harsh-

    17. JR

      Yes. It is.

    18. EV

... like, uh, vowels and- (laughs)

    19. JR

      Gaelic's crazy.

    20. EV

And it's, it's a crazy ass... Like, I've seen Gaelic names that, like, were spelt insane and it was, "Oh, that's pronounced Sean." (laughs) You know what I mean? Like some crazy shit like that.

    21. JR

That's a wild ancient language, right?

    22. EV

      Yeah, for real though.

    23. JR

I love Irish people, man. I just f- I'm fucking fascinated by the wildness of that culture.

    24. EV

      Yeah. Well, that's-

    25. JR

      You know, that's like-

    26. EV

... that's why God made whiskey, you know-

    27. JR

      100%.

    28. EV

... so the Irish would, so the Irish would never rule the world.

    29. JR

Dude. When you see a guy like, a guy like Conor McGregor, that pa- part of what is him is Irish. He's like a pure, like, brilliant Irish. You know what I'm talking about?

    30. EV

      For sure.

  2. 15:0030:00

    That's my dude, by…

    1. JR

was able to beat Rumble twice. Rumble, to me, was always the scariest guy.

    2. EV

That's my dude, by the way. That's my, that's my dude. Rumble's the scariest guy. That's my dude.

    3. JR

He's so ferocious. His punching is so fucking explosive, man. He's just got so much power. When he knocked out Glover Teixeira with one punch, I was like, "God!" Like, who the fuck is like that?

    4. EV

When I first met him, he was-

    5. JR

Who the fuck hits like that?

    6. EV

... he was a much smaller dude. You know?

    7. JR

      When he was probably 170.

    8. EV

Yeah, yeah. He had, he used to work out with some friends of mine that used to work out in this, uh, little MMA gym that was off Melrose and, and La Brea. I think it was called LA MMA at the time or something like that, and he... Before he wound up in Colorado, I think.

    9. JR

      Dude.

    10. EV

You know? But, you know, I- I've known that dude a while, man.

    11. JR

      He's so-

    12. EV

      That's a good dude, man.

    13. JR

... ridiculously powerful. He's a really nice guy.

    14. EV

      Yeah, he's good too.

    15. JR

His fucking power is preposterous though. Like... But it was, he's also-

    16. EV

And then when I seen him come back in, in the 205, that's what I was l-

    17. JR

      Yeah.

    18. EV

Blew my mind. I was like, "Not that fast."

    19. JR

Just flatlining people at 205. But it was interesting, man. His, his re- his retirement was like one of the most honest and like, uh, f- it was like he was like happy with it 'cause he was like, "Man, I'm not a fighter. I'm an athlete. I just, I'm just good at this." I was like, "Wow, that's really... That's, that's interesting." Interesting way to look at it.

    20. EV

I think he grows weed now and, and raises dogs.

    21. JR

      (laughs) It's amazing.

    22. EV

      And like breeds French Bulldogs.

    23. JR

      Good for him.

    24. EV

      (laughs)

    25. JR

And he's huge. He just did a grappling competition against this guy, Craig Jones, who's this, uh, Brazilian jiu jitsu guy from Australia that's a murderer. He's is a leg lock specialist too and he caught him in a leg lock. It's crazy to see how big he is. Rumble's like fucking, I don't know, he's gotta be like 260 pounds. Like, no bullshit.

    26. EV

      Wow.

    27. JR

      He's huge, man.

    28. EV

      Yeah, I haven't seen him-

    29. JR

      He's huge.

    30. EV

I saw, I seen him, we sat next to a fight of, not the last fight I went to, but whatever the one last fight before that in Vegas.

  3. 30:0045:00

    It sucks, but- …

    1. EV

    2. JR

      It sucks, but-

    3. EV

Boos... I don't... I don't condone booing any of that stuff-

    4. JR

      I know-

    5. EV

... because most of the people that would boo would never get in that ring. I would never get in that ring. You ain't got enough money. Again, I've made a lot of money and, uh, Conor McGregor hasn't got enough money from me getting in that ring.

    6. JR

      (laughs)

    7. EV

Dawg, I'm sorry, okay? You gotta fucking 100 billion.

    8. JR

      Yeah.

    9. EV

I'm like, "Nah, man." I'm like my consciousness.

    10. JR

      But, um-

    11. EV

You know, I'm not getting in with Mike Tyson for any money, you know, 'cause-

    12. JR

The problem is they're bullying the decision.

    13. EV

... that's a lottery ticket on the wrong side of things.

    14. JR

Yeah, for sure.... the problem is they're blowing the decision. It wasn't his decision.

    15. EV

      It wasn't.

    16. JR

      He fought his heart out.

    17. EV

And it, it wasn't that ridiculous, is my point too.

    18. JR

No, no. It was never ridiculous.

    19. EV

Like, it was like, "Ah, I would have flipped it, but hey-

    20. JR

      Yes.

    21. EV

      ... okay, no n- it's-

    22. JR

      Yeah.

    23. EV

... I can see how that could be seen."

    24. JR

100%. And your guy has been (laughs) live to 60 fucking UFCs.

    25. EV

      (laughs)

    26. JR

      Yeah. It's just, um-

    27. EV

I don't know what the woo thing is that's happened in the last couple years. Woo! Like, it's just like, and the whole crowd starts-

    28. JR

      It's exciting.

    29. EV

      It's like (laughs) -

    30. JR

      They just get excited.

  4. 45:001:00:00

    Stranger Things- …

    1. JR

something they could do that might open up a door to a parallel universe, you don't think they would do it?

    2. EV

      Stranger Things-

    3. JR

      (clears throat)

    4. EV

      ... you mean?

    5. JR

      Yeah.

    6. EV

(laughs) I'd say that's the gold, the gold thing.

    7. JR

This is Stranger Things. I mean, things are strange, right? It is Stranger Things.

    8. EV

      Fuckin' bizarro world.

    9. JR

You know what's the weirdest one? Is the, the, like, w- the people that dismiss climate change. That is the weirdest one to me, 'cause I'm like, what is th- I'm trying to figure out what's the benefit of dismissing climate change other than in l- if you work for, like, the oil industry or something.

    10. EV

      Well, d- Iceland just lost-

    11. JR

You work for someone who's gonna-

    12. EV

      ... a glacier.

    13. JR

      Yeah.

    14. EV

Like, they just posted a whole v- thing of 10 year or '80, like, something in the '80s, a glacier picture of it.

    15. JR

      Right.

    16. EV

And m- just now and it's gone.

    17. JR

But I'm not even saying li- like blaming anybody for it. I'm saying dismissing it as an issue. I'm like, let's pretend the people have nothing to do with it. Let's just, I wish people had nothing to do with it because then we can go, "Holy fuck, (laughs) it's getting hot." Like, how hot is it gonna get? Like, we could just figure it out. Like, if it was just a-

    18. EV

Our, our record at this point where it's two degrees, the oceans are hotter-

    19. JR

      Right.

    20. EV

      ... than they've been in-

    21. JR

      But do you-

    22. EV

      ... ever.

    23. JR

... know how people do that where they try to say like, "Well, this is a natural cycle." This is something that some people still say, right? Well, okay, even if it was just a natural cycle, I wish humans weren't in the equation at all so there was no argument. I wish it would just be like, "Hey, guys, it's getting really hot. What the fuck do we do?" As if we had no control over it whatsoever. Not saying that we shouldn't take steps to fix it, and we definitely should. But I'm saying that if it was impossible for people to have created it and it was happening around us, maybe we would be forced to do something. Maybe we'd be forced to, like, go to higher ground, get the fuck out of the, the really hot spots, you know? M- make your way towards Canada (laughs) . Like, I mean, maybe that would, what's w- what we would do if there was no other way. But we know that at least part of what the problem is is people, at least part of what the problem. But so many people are start- they- they d- wanna start arguments about that and fight that. And to me, it's so strange. It's like, what's the benefit of arguing against that it's happening? I don't understand. Like, it's happening. You see it getting warmer, you see the statistics, you see everybody freaking out. The, the Amazon's on fire. Have you seen that?

    24. EV

      Yes.

    25. JR

      For weeks.

    26. EV

      No, it's fucking horrifying. It's, it's-

    27. JR

You see those photos from South Paulo?

    28. EV

Yes, and that they're just, and I believe it's purposeful, right?

    29. JR

I, I have heard that that is the, that some people are thinking-

    30. EV

It's being burnt away on purpose is what I'm, uh, if I've, uh, some, the, the things I've read or understood. I won't swear their truth 'cause again, it, now that's one of the things we, what, you're saying-

  5. 1:00:001:04:12

    Yeah. …

    1. EV

like, that night. I had... I think I had the first part, the whole liquor store, guy at the liquor store thing.

    2. JR

      Yeah.

    3. EV

But I didn't really have anything else, but he heard that part and was like, "Yo, we, you need to finish that."

    4. JR

When you get those ideas, when they come to you, what do, what does that feel like? Does it feel like, like a gift comes out of the universe and all this stuff comes out of your mouth?

    5. EV

A lot of the times, the really good ones, yeah. You know what I mean? I, I mean, I, wh- what blows my mind, and I'm gonna flip it on you real quick, is, is the, the k- the k- the comic art arc of you get to work this thing out for a whole long time, and if you're really successful on your level type thing, then you shoot a special and that joke kinda goes away. You can't-

    6. JR

      Yeah, it's done.

    7. EV

You don't really get to tell that anymore.

    8. JR

      Different.

    9. EV

And that blows my mind because, like, my whole thing is, like, work this thing out and build this thing that I can go out and play every night for the rest of my life. So, like, you're... You know what I mean? Like, so all the kudos being thrown back and forth, when I look at you or any amazing comedian that just turns it around and every year, two years is belting out these fucking funny ass specials, and then, like, you can't do that anymore. Like-

    10. ... you know, unless you're Andrew Dice Clay with the little fucking Hickory Dickory Dock-

    11. JR

      Oh.

    12. EV

... you know, and you got the little, you know-

    13. JR

Yeah. He's the only guy ever that you wanna hear the old stuff over and over and over again. Like-

    14. EV

Or I don't know if you-

    15. JR

... f- you'll see a whole set of just rhymes.

    16. EV

Or even like, um, like now there's like... Are you familiar with this, with Little Duval?

    17. JR

      Yes.

    18. EV

      The comedian?

    19. JR

      Yeah, yeah, yeah.

    20. EV

Like, you know, the whole singing like. I mean, he's like turning-

    21. JR

      Yeah.

    22. EV

... it in, he's flipping this like whole script on-

    23. JR

      Yes.

    24. EV

... what comedy and music and entertainment is right now.

    25. JR

      Mm-hmm.

    26. EV

He's kind of doing some really fucking interesting shit.

    27. JR

He's also got a bunch of crazy shit going on in his Instagram. His Instagram's hilarious too. He's got something that I need him to explain to-

    28. EV

It's one of my favorite follows in the universe.

    29. JR

City Boys with Country Boys. (laughs)

    30. EV

Yeah. No, no, he start like, he starts cultural phenomena.
