First UFC event experience & why French MMA felt “boring”

    1. JR

Boom. All right, we're live. (microphone thuds) What's going on, man? What do you got there? Text messaging people?

    2. CD

      No. (laughs)

    3. JR

      (laughs) Shutting your phone off?

    4. CD

Yeah, I just put it on-

    5. JR

      Silent?

    6. CD

      ... silent mode.

    7. JR

How long have you been in America now for? You're, you're only here for like two weeks, right?

    8. CD

(smacks lips) Uh, yeah. I came for two week and, yeah, and th- three days. And, uh, as you invited me at the, at the UFC, and-

    9. JR

      Did you enjoy it?

    10. CD

Yeah, it was great. That's my first time at the UFC.

    11. JR

      That's the first time, really?

    12. CD

Yeah. Even at an MMA event.

    13. JR

You've never been to an MMA event?

    14. CD

      No, no.

    15. JR

      Really?

    16. CD

No. In France, it's so boring, you know. You know that, uh, now it's forbidden in France.

    17. JR

      Yes.

    18. CD

And you can't hit a guy when he's in, on the floor.

    19. JR

      Oh.

    20. CD

So that's why it used to be boring in France, because they fight, like striking, and then when a guy take you down, and then it's just BJJ and, uh, grabbing-

    21. JR

      Adjust the missions?

    22. CD

      Yeah.

    23. JR

      Yes. Oh, that's interesting.

    24. CD

      Yeah.

    25. JR

So their MMA rules, when they would go to the ground, no striking at all?

    26. CD

No striking. So that's why it's boring.

    27. JR

      Even to the body?

    28. CD

Even in the b- Oh, I think, yeah, in the body, they can.

    29. JR

      Oh, okay.

    30. CD

      They can.

  2. 1:212:36

From Glory dominance to a clear UFC goal

    1. JR

Now, as a kickboxing champion, and when you watch MMA, do you... I know that you've been training, and I know that you, you spent some time while you're out here at AKA.

    2. CD

      Yeah.

    3. JR

Are you thinking of eventually making your way to the UFC?

    4. CD

No, I'm not thinking. That's what, that's what I will do.

    5. JR

      You will do, yeah.

    6. CD

Yeah, that's what I will do. That's what I, I wanna do. You know, (smacks lips) uh, yeah, as you said, I'm the, the Glory champ now. I have five belt. My, my first dream before Glory was to, to become the, yeah, the greatest kickboxing in the world, kickboxer in the world. I wanted to beat, uh, everybody in my division. (sighs) That's what I did. Before, uh, Nieky Holzken was the, the champ-champ.

    7. JR

      Yeah.

    8. CD

Undefeated since six years. Uh, yeah, he wa- he was the greatest in Glory, and I was like, "Damn, how, how do I gonna beat him? You know, he's so, he's so strong." And I beat him. I beat him, yeah, twice. (smacks lips) I beat everybody. So after that, before people was asking me, "Do you think, uh, to go to MMA? Because I, I think you should do something great in MMA." I was like, "No, I don't like MMA." I don't wa- I, I, I don't like, like wrestling, BJJ. I don't like this kind of sport. I'm a striker, you know? I was like, "No, I don't like it."

  3. 2:364:11

Falling in love with jiu-jitsu—and the ambition to do what McGregor couldn’t

    1. CD

And yet, two years ago, I was like, "Damn, (laughs) I think I like it, you know?" Because I, I train once, (smacks lips) and, uh, I really, I really like it, you know?

    2. JR

What did you like? Do you like MMA training or did you like-

    3. CD

      MMA training.

    4. JR

      ... jiu-jitsu?

    5. CD

Yeah, MMA training and jiu-jitsu. I was... And I was watching jiu-jitsu all the time on TV. And more I watched jiu-jitsu, I was like, "Oh, it's, it's so complicated. It's so-"

    6. JR

      Yes.

    7. CD

It's not only two guys who are rolling and making-

    8. JR

      (laughs)

    9. CD

... str- strange stuff on the, on the ground.

    10. JR

      (laughs)

    11. CD

It's, it's more than, than, than that. So I was like, "Oh, it's complicated. It's very... It's not easy," so-

    12. JR

      Right.

    13. CD

... I, I, I, yeah, I, I wanted to learn that. I wanted, I wanted someone to teach me that. And, uh, yeah, I was thinking about MMA, and now I really wanna do it. I wanna do... You know, what Conor McGregor, uh, couldn't do, you know, he, he was the best in MMA, in one combat sport, and he wanted to beat, uh, Conor Mc- um...

    14. JR

      Floyd Mayweather.

    15. CD

      ... Floyd Mayweather-

    16. JR

      Yeah.

    17. CD

... in another combat sport. He wanted to be the greatest in two combat sport, different combat sport. He couldn't do it. He failed. And that's what I wanna do. And I think I really, really will do it. I'm the best in kickboxing, and I wanna be the best in MMA, and I think, uh, I will.

    18. JR

(smacks lips) If kickboxing was as popular as MMA, do you think you'd still have the same desire to do it?

    19. CD

      Yes.

    20. JR

      Yes?

    21. CD

      Yes. Because-

    22. JR

Because you just wanna be the best?

    23. CD

Yeah. Because I'm young, you know. I'm 26. Uh, I, my dreams cames true, you know? I'm the best in kickboxing. My nickname is The Best.

    24. JR

      Yes.

    25. CD

And I'm (laughs) really the best, so...

    26. JR

Well, y- I'm a big fan of yours, and, uh-

  4. 4:116:05

Style evolution: from ‘runner’ to finisher

    1. CD

      Thank you.

    2. JR

... I was really excited to get you in here. And one of the things I was really interested in, uh, is that you t- sorta changed your style.

    3. CD

      Mm-hmm.

    4. JR

And you were more movement oriented, and you would win on points, but then you started fucking people up. You started-

    5. CD

      I did.

    6. JR

... n- and like people, like, Nieky Holzken had said that about you.

    7. CD

      Yeah.

    8. JR

      That you're a mover.

    9. CD

      A runner.

    10. JR

Yeah, that you're a runner. I, I was trying to say it in a nice-

    11. CD

      (laughs)

    12. JR

... but then he said it.

    13. CD

      That's what he said.

    14. JR

But, man, you changed that around.

    15. CD

      Yeah, yeah. You know why?

    16. JR

You, you, you're knocking people out.

    17. CD

Because be- uh, yeah. My first, my first big, big fight in the, in Glory was, uh, against Nieky Holzken, and that was only my third fight in Glory. Uh, as I beat the, the rank number two, who was Myrto Grunad, uh, as I beat him, they, they put me, um, a title shot right after. And I was like, Nieky Holzken is, is really, really complicated too.

    18. JR

And you were like 24, right?

    19. CD

      Yeah, I was 24. Yeah.

    20. JR

      That's very young.

    21. CD

      Yeah.

    22. JR

      To fight Niiky Holzken.

    23. CD

Yeah. I was, I was, yeah, I was, I was impressed by him because-

    24. JR

      He's very good.

    25. CD

... he's very good. And I still, I still impressed by him, because for me, he's a very, very great champ. He was. And, um, I was like, "I will not knock him out." I used to... Before Glory, I used to fight every month. Sometime I went to fight, I used to fight three time a month. And, um, I used to knock-

    26. JR

      Three times a month?

    27. CD

      Yeah.

    28. JR

      Really?

    29. CD

Yeah. Because of tournaments. Uh, I used to-

    30. JR

      Oh.

  5. 6:0511:22

Weight cuts, diet discipline, and the ‘Golden Coach’ turnaround

    1. CD

style, the same style. And once, I failed, you know. Uh, I lost a fight because, uh, because of that, my, my diet wasn't very good, you know. Uh, I make a f- a good first round and then I was tired as fuck, so I couldn't do the, the, the job what I, I wanted to do. And then I took a diet. Now my diet, my diet's perfect and, uh-

    2. JR

What did you change? Like, what were you eating before?

    3. CD

Before I was like, okay, I s- uh, f- to prepare a fight, I, uh, I start two months before the fight, the D-day. And then, uh, before I was like, "Okay, still two months. Okay, I start tomorrow. I, I start next week, the diet. I start tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow." And then we are two weeks before the fight, I'm like, "Damn, six kilos to lose. Okay, I start today." And then I come in to fight week and I never started the diet, and I started the diet in the hotel, like three days before the fight. Uh, I had five kilo to lose, six kilo to lose-

    4. JR

      Oh, wow.

    5. CD

... in three days and I was like, "Okay, I don't eat anything no more. Now I just train, train." Sauna, training.

    6. JR

      With no food?

    7. CD

      With no food. No food.

    8. JR

      Oh, that's silly.

    9. CD

Even no water. And that's why it's, that's wh- that wasn't smart, you know?

    10. JR

It's so hard for people to believe that world champions do things like that.

    11. CD

      Yeah.

    12. JR

But that is the case sometimes and sometimes you need a bad fight to sort of (snaps fingers) snap you out of it and realize, "Hey, I have to be disciplined for many, many months out in advance."

    13. CD

That's right. You know what the first thing Glory say to my manager before when I won the first title? They say, "Hey, Cedric is very lucky because we don't, we don't even know how, how does he come, he arrive at, at this level with no, no diet, no, you know, n- no team."

    14. JR

      Strength conditioning.

    15. CD

      "No trainer, no nothing."

    16. JR

      Right.

    17. CD

They was, they was very surprised and, yeah, I, I think, I think a lot about this and that's why now I'm very professional. And after the, th- that diet, uh, I start to knock everybody out.

    18. JR

So, what did you change in your diet? Like, what do you eat now?

    19. CD

Now, um, it's like, you know, my diet in France is, she's very famous, you know? Her name is Cecile Golden Coach. She's, uh, the diet-

    20. JR

      Her name is Golden Coach?

    21. CD

      Yeah, Golden Coach. Her nickname.

    22. JR

      That's a real name?

    23. CD

      No (laughs) .

    24. JR

Oh, no, no. I was like, "Wow."

    25. CD

And, yeah, and sh- she take care of many champions i- in France and, uh, yeah, she, uh ... I cannot tell you exactly what, what is in, inside my diet because, uh, it's so complicated. But I, I told her, "Hey, I don't want, I don't want you to tell me how many grams and this and this and this. Just tell me, write what I need to eat Monday, Tuesday, uh, morning, evening." And that's what, that's what she did, you know?

    26. JR

So, you just follow her instructions kind of?

    27. CD

      Yeah, I just follow instruction. I don't-

    28. JR

Do you have a meal prep company, someone who makes the meals for you?

    29. CD

      No, no, no, no.

    30. JR

      You do it all yourself?

  6. 11:2213:19

Why kickboxing thrives in Europe but lags in the U.S.

    1. JR

Now, kickboxing is huge in Europe. I mean-

    2. CD

      Yeah.

    3. JR

      ... it's, it's very big. People-

    4. CD

      Very big.

    5. JR

People, I mean, I had, um, Rico Verhoeven on-

    6. CD

      Uh-huh.

    7. JR

... and we discussed this, like how enormous kickboxing is in Holland and in Europe.

    8. CD

      Yeah.

    9. JR

And in America, for whatever reason, it never caught on. I do- I don't understand it. I've been a, a fan of Glory and I've been trying to tell people about them for a long time.

    10. CD

Uh, I, I, I cannot blame (laughs) USA for that because they, they legalized MMA so MMA is just more, more attractive for people, you know? The-

    11. JR

      Mm-hmm.

    12. CD

... people who doesn't know shit about, about fighting, they just watch MMA. It's like, "Oh, two people are fighting. Yeah, that is-"

    13. JR

      Right.

    14. CD

"... interesting," you know? Kickboxing and, like, things like, sport like Muay Thai, kickboxing, if you doesn't know the rules, it's kinda, yeah-... you just fight and you do not-- you doesn't, doesn't understand. You don't understand. But MMA is more easy (laughs) to understand, you know?

    15. JR

      Yeah, it's just a fight.

    16. CD

      Yeah, it's just a fight.

    17. JR

      A wild fight between-

    18. CD

      Yeah.

    19. JR

Yeah, two people. So I don't-- I really don't know why kickboxing is not, uh, is, is not, uh, maybe at the same level as MMA in USA. Well, what's cr- uh, crazy to me is boxing is very respected in the United States, and MMA is very respected. But one of the things that people like about MMA is stand-up. They like the striking.

    20. CD

      Yeah.

    21. JR

But the best striking is like glory-

    22. CD

      Yeah.

    23. JR

... or Muay Thai, like the, the best elite kickboxers are the best strikers.

    24. CD

That's right. But I think people love the cage.

    25. JR

      Mm-hmm.

    26. CD

People love the blood, so small gloves.

    27. JR

      Mm.

    28. CD

You know, that's what, that's what people like. People don't like you to... Don't like, uh, how you say that? (smacks lips) Uh, knockdown.

    29. JR

      Mm-hmm.

    30. CD

      They like KO or nothing.

  7. 13:1915:37

France legalizing full MMA & the ‘stepping stone’ dilemma

    1. JR

Well, is there a movement at all to try to get MMA, full MMA, legalized in France?

    2. CD

(smacks lips) Uh, I think in, in January it's gonna be, it's gonna be okay.

    3. JR

So they're gonna have to allow strikes on the ground, though, in France?

    4. CD

      Yeah, yeah, yeah, everything, everything.

    5. JR

      Soon?

    6. CD

      So in January.

    7. JR

      Yeah. Oh, in January?

    8. CD

      So, yeah, in January.

    9. JR

      Oh, in January.

    10. CD

      Yeah.

    11. JR

      Oh, okay.

    12. CD

And I think UFC gonna come in, in France.

    13. JR

So they'll probably be a UFC in Paris?

    14. CD

      Yeah, for sure.

    15. JR

      Oh, okay.

    16. CD

      I think so.

    17. JR

      That sounds wild.

    18. CD

      Yeah.

    19. JR

Yeah, well, the more guys like you get involved in MMA, though, the more it complicates kickboxing, though, because, like, when elite fighters, world champions like yourself make a jump to MMA, then people might look at kickboxing as a stepping stone instead of as a valid individual sport.

    20. CD

Yeah, yeah, that's right. But, uh, you mean when a guy, uh, step from kickboxing to MMA?

    21. JR

Yeah, that like maybe people won't care as much about kickboxing because they'll look at it as a stepping stone to MMA.

    22. CD

Yeah, yeah, of course. And, uh, yeah, yeah, that's right. That's what I, that's what I wanna d- I wanna do also, because I think, um, for a guy from, uh, kickboxing to, to go in MMA is, it's not really difficult for him if, uh, yeah, if you learn, uh, the ground game.

    23. JR

      And wrestling takedown defense.

    24. CD

Yeah, wr- wrestle, takedown defense. If you learn that, it's gon- it's gonna be, yeah, s- more simple than a guy who come from Muay Thai. You know, Muay Thai is, is really different like kickboxing. Kickboxing, when you fight in kickboxing, you move a lot already, you're not a stand- a standing target, you know?

    25. JR

      Mm.

    26. CD

Instead of Muay Thai. Muay Thai, you d- if you watch Muay Thai, you fight, they don't move a lot, you know?

    27. JR

      Right.

    28. CD

They stay still and the fight is, is, is all about power, power kicks, power punches. So-

    29. JR

Why do you think that's different? Because of the clinch? Because of elbows and knees, like...

    30. CD

Because of the, the, the movement, the movement. In, in, in MMA, they stay still, and in kickboxing, the- there is no, you know, there is no break, you know? They just keep fighting-

  8. 15:3717:00

Building the grappling base: luta livre, Paris training, and AKA reality checks

    1. JR

Now, in France, is it easy to get wrestling? Do you, do you get wrestling training?

    2. CD

I, uh, in France, I get grappling training. I think here in USA, you call that BJJ no gi.

    3. JR

      Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

    4. CD

      Yeah.

    5. JR

      No gi.

    6. CD

      Yeah.

    7. JR

      Yeah, yeah.

    8. CD

      No gi, yeah.

    9. JR

      Yeah.

    10. CD

That's why I, that's why, uh, I'm training in France. It's a very, very big team-

    11. JR

What about takedowns or takedown defense and wrestling?

    12. CD

But, you know, this, this, this style of, um, of, uh, no gi training I get is, uh, is a little bit different like, uh, as B- BJJ because we start, uh, on our feet.

    13. JR

      Uh-huh.

    14. CD

And, uh, and y- and we use the waist, and then after the takedown, we continue, so-

    15. JR

      Right.

    16. CD

... it's not like an, an Olympic wrestling.

    17. JR

      Right.

    18. CD

But it is... They call that luta livre.

    19. JR

      Okay.

    20. CD

I don't know if you, you heard about it.

    21. JR

Yes. No, luta livre is what they call it in Brazil, but I, I know what you're saying. Yeah.

    22. CD

      Yeah, yeah.

    23. JR

Yeah. Um, so in America, most Brazilian jiu-jitsu, they start on the ground already. They'll start on the knees or something like that-

    24. CD

      Mm-hmm.

    25. JR

      ... to avoid accidents.

    26. CD

      Yeah.

    27. JR

Because, you know, you got a class full of 40 people-

    28. CD

      Yeah, yeah, yeah.

    29. JR

... rolling around together and they're trying to tackle each other and c- colliding.

    30. CD

      Yeah, yeah.

  9. 17:0025:53

Timeline to the UFC: dream matchups and ‘shock the world’ entry

    1. JR

Now, at 26, what, how much time do you think you need between now and when you have your first MMA fight?

    2. CD

You know what is my dream?

    3. JR

      Yes.

    4. CD

Now is, now I beat everybody so, like, I'm getting bored in, uh, in kickboxing, you know? I still defending my, my title because I like it, because of the cash prize also, and, um, (smacks lips) my dream is I still in contract in, uh, for one, one year and a half, (smacks lips) little bit more than one year. My dream is prepare myself to MMA (smacks lips) during one year, so I still got time. And after the, the end of the contract, directly go to UFC and take the champ for the, uh, a direct title shot or a top five ranked guy. I really, I really, really would like to fight Nate Diaz or, uh, Anthony Pettis for, for my f- my first fight MMA to... Why? To, to, to shock, only to shock the world, to, to show everybody that a guy who come from kickboxing-... directly, his first fight is against a top guy in MMA and he, he fuck him up. (laughs)

    5. JR

      (laughs)

    6. CD

So (laughs) that's what I wanna do and I really, really believe in me and I know I will, I can and I will do it.

    7. JR

Now have you been in c- in talks with UFC? Does UFC know about your plans?

    8. CD

      Not yet.

    9. JR

      Not yet.

    10. CD

      Yet.

    11. JR

      Will they do now-

    12. CD

      Uh, not yet.

    13. JR

      ... because of this?

    14. CD

But I think after this show-

    15. JR

      Yeah.

    16. CD

... they'll be here about it, so-

    17. JR

      Yeah, now they're gonna know.

    18. CD

      Yeah.

    19. JR

So you're training at AKA, was that the first time you ever trained up there?

    20. CD

      No, it's my second time.

    21. JR

      Second time?

    22. CD

      Yeah.

    23. JR

      When did you train before?

    24. CD

Before was one years ago, November, yeah, I came here after my Glory fight. Uh, I broke my ribs, so I took a little bit, uh, vacation in Thailand and then, uh, after that, yeah, I just fly to, uh, AKA San Jose. And yeah, I meet, I met everybody, DC. Khabib wasn't there, but I met there a lot of great, great teammate. Uh, the, the wrestling level is just amazing there, so I met Jav also-

    25. JR

      Yeah.

    26. CD

      ... Javier Men- uh-

    27. JR

      Javier Mendes, yeah.

    28. CD

      Yeah. Si.

    29. JR

So that's a great camp for a guy like you too because it's very wrestling heavy.

    30. CD

      Yeah.

  10. 25:5333:53

A unique approach: conditioning-first, no kickboxing coach, and DIY camps

    1. JR

So you've been out here now, uh, you went to the UFC event and then you did some training at AKA. Like, uh, w- when you are outside of camp, say like whenever your fight is scheduled, how much, uh, t- w- what kind of training are you doing when you're not in camp? Are you mixing it up now and trying to do a lot of jiu-jitsu, a lot of BJJ?

    2. CD

When I'm not in camp what I do... So my, um, my conditioning trainer, Valentino Gargiulo, he follow me everywhere, he's with me today. And, uh, we just train strength, conditioning because before that was my weakness, the condition.

    3. JR

      Yeah.

    4. CD

I used, I used to knock everybody out at the first round. So I never trained my condition, I never took it very serious because I used to knock people out at the first round. So when I did my first five round, I was like, "Wow, damn, the condition is so, so important." So that's why I'm training a lot, you know, uh, strength for sure, conditioning and also, yeah, when I'm not... when I h- I don't have a fight, kickboxing fight planned, I train BJJ, I train wrestling, MMA and, uh, yeah, it is a completely different condition. It's crazy when you, when you wrestle with a guy and then you, you, you get up and you're trying to strike, fuck.

    5. JR

      You're exhausted.

    6. CD

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really-

    7. JR

      Yeah.

    8. CD

      It's very-

    9. JR

Your arms are filled with blood.

    10. CD

      Yeah.

    11. JR

      Yeah.

    12. CD

You doesn't feel nothing any more.

    13. JR

      Your legs.

    14. CD

      Yeah.

    15. JR

      Yeah.

    16. CD

      It's very crazy.

    17. JR

Now what kind of strength and conditioning do you... are you doing and how often are you doing it? Like say if you're, if you're preparing for a fight-

    18. CD

      Yeah.

    19. JR

... how many days a week do you do strength and conditioning?

    20. CD

When I'm pr- I'm preparing for a fight, uh, every day.

    21. JR

      Every day.

    22. CD

Every day. It's not... of course, it's not the same training, but every day I see Valentino and, uh, we train together. Yeah. Every day. I train more conditioning and strength more than kickboxing.

    23. JR

      Really?

    24. CD

      Yeah. I, I don't have a, uh, a trainer in kickboxing.

    25. JR

      What?

    26. CD

      (laughs) Yeah. That's right.

    27. JR

      What?

    28. CD

      Yeah.

    29. JR

      Really?

    30. CD

People, people don't believe, doesn't believe me when I say that, but I don't have-

Comedy, acting aspirations, and the personal origin story

    1. JR

Now, another crazy thing about you that people might not know is that you're a comedian.

    2. CD

      (laughs) Yeah, that's right.

    3. JR

      You're a stand-up comedian-

    4. CD

      Yeah, that's right.

    5. JR

      ... which is hilarious.

    6. CD

      Before, before.

    7. JR

      Yes.

    8. CD

      (laughs)

    9. JR

But do you- for you to be a world champion kickboxer and a stand-up comedian, that is a very unusual combination.

    10. CD

Yeah, that's right, because first my first dream and that still- still my dream today is to become an actor, a comedian. And, uh, before- before I started, uh, combat sport, yeah, I was doing stand-up, I was- uh, I was in high school also, I was, uh, learning, um, uh, comedian stuff, uh, actor, acting and I really- I really like it. And then, uh, come the combat sport and then I started to improve myself to become, yeah, more to fight, to fight, to fight. And then I- I stopped a little bit, uh, yeah, stand-up, acting. But three months ago, I was- uh, I played in a small movie, short movie in France. Yeah, I played- it's gonna- it's gonna go out in few- in few- few weeks.

    11. JR

Now, when you do stand-up in Paris, are you working at comedy clubs? Like, do they have comedy clubs in Paris?

    12. CD

It's not in Paris. Uh, comedy club in- in Bordeaux.

    13. JR

      In France?

    14. CD

      In Bordeaux.

    15. JR

      In Bordeaux?

    16. CD

      Yeah, yeah.

    17. JR

      Yeah.

    18. CD

      I was very young. I was- I still young (laughs) , but I was, yeah, 18, 19.

    19. JR

And so Bordeaux has comedy clubs?

    20. CD

      Yes, comedy club in Bordeaux.

    21. JR

And it's all obviously in French?

    22. CD

      In French, of course.

    23. JR

      Yeah.

    24. CD

      Yeah, not in English.

    25. JR

      Right.

    26. CD

      I never-

    27. JR

Have you ever done comedy in English?

    28. CD

      Never.

    29. JR

      Never?

    30. CD

No. Oh, yes. One in, uh- I think you can find it in, uh, YouTube is, uh, I was, um, I was teaching people how to cook- how to good- how to cook a- a great, uh, chicken.

Fight talk & industry detours: Nabiev KO breakdown, legends, and crossover debates

    1. JR

Your last fight against, uh, how do you say his name, Nabiev?

    2. CD

      Alim Nabiev. Yeah.

    3. JR

Yeah, he's a bad motherfucker, man.

    4. CD

      Yeah.

    5. JR

He's very good. And for you to knock him out like that, the way you did.

    6. CD

      Nobody knock him out in-

    7. JR

      No.

    8. CD

      ... in Glory. Yeah.

    9. JR

      He's very tricky.

    10. CD

      Yeah, he's tricky.

    11. JR

      He's sneaky.

    12. CD

      Yeah.

    13. JR

That guy fights very technical as well.

    14. CD

      Yeah.

    15. JR

      Yeah.

    16. CD

But I was so focused, you know, on th- on that fight because d-

    17. JR

Did you ever see Robin Bra... Do you know who Robin Black is?

    18. CD

      No.

    19. JR

Robin Black is a friend of mine, and he, (clears throat) he breaks down fights.

    20. CD

      Yeah.

    21. JR

He, he talks about like what someone did that worked so well.

    22. CD

The guy who say, "Enjoy the hostility, my friends."

    23. JR

      Yes.

    24. CD

      No... Yes.

    25. JR

      Yes, yes.

    26. CD

      (laughs)

    27. JR

      That's exactly... Yeah.

    28. CD

      I saw the video.

    29. JR

      He's famous for saying, "Bink."

    30. CD

      Bink, bink.
