Can You Be Openly Gay in the Military?

    1. CW

Did you guys ever consider a career in the military?

    2. MM

I, I remember I was in graduate school when I would get the reserve emails, and I really thought, I was like, "Damn, 20 grand right now?"

    3. CW

      [laughs]

    4. MM

And I was like, "Mm, I can't..." I remember my wife's like, "Dude." Anyone I talked to was like, "You're gonna hate it. Don't, you, you can't just go away." I'm like, "It's just weekends." And they're like, "Yeah, every weekend for like, what, t- four years?" And I was like on the brink, and then they were like, "Dude." I was like, "Yeah, I'm not doing it." [laughs] So-

    5. JD

      I've never considered it ever.

    6. MM

      [laughs]

    7. JD

      Ever. Not even once.

    8. CW

You could have done a career in comedy. I don't know. This could have been a-

    9. JD

      Yeah

    10. CW

... they could, we could have found out that everyone's-

    11. JD

      [laughs]

    12. CW

... original life plans had crossed over.

    13. JD

I wish I would've done it. I could have used some structure, some discipline, some, uh, older male influence. I could have used some... Everything that the military teaches, I think I needed and would've been great, but because nobody was giving me the discipline to go, "Hey, you should go do that," I didn't do it, you know?

    14. MM

      Yeah.

    15. CW

Uh, you didn't even have the discipline to start becoming disciplined.

    16. JD

Yeah. When you grow up like me, dude, on the mean streets, you know, it's either gang life or basketball.

    17. CW

      [laughs]

    18. JD

And I cho- No, that's not real.

    19. MM

[laughs] I, I remember. Do you know what it was? I remember they repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I was like, "All right. I can't, I can't join."

    20. JD

      Yeah, yeah.

    21. CW

      What's that?

    22. MM

It was if you're gay, you're, you're not supposed-

    23. JD

      Right

    24. MM

... to ask someone if they're gay.

    25. JD

      That's, that's a rule.

    26. MM

Now I think you're, like, allowed to ask. I don't know. What even happened with that?

    27. JD

I think you ask guys for their papers.

    28. CW

This is your area of expertise, Chuck.

    29. JD

      I don't know.

    30. CW

      And what happened with-

  2. 2:268:19

Are Women’s Sports As Good As Men’s?

    1. CW

What is that French W- uh, NBA player that-

    2. JD

      She wouldn't make it

    3. CW

... that's, what, the current trans athlete. Have you seen this guy go-

    4. MM

      Mm-mm

    5. CW

      ... that's in-

    6. JD

Yeah, she's going viral all week. She's having a good week.

    7. CW

      Wait.

    8. JD

She's probably real happy about all this WNBA kerfuffle.

    9. CW

Yeah. Do you know the story? Can you explain?

    10. JD

I've... E- every video has popped up. There's just a trans-

    11. MM

      Yeah

    12. JD

... it's a, it's a biological male that transitioned into a woman who's playing in a professional women's basketball league in France. And because the Sophie Cunningham and all the issues in the last few weeks with the XX/XY kind of campaign-

    13. MM

      Mm-hmm

    14. JD

... drumming up all this trans talk, uh, they're like, "We'll let this lady play. Draft her over there and watch how inclusive they'll be." But everybody's just showing videos of this, like, muscular... I mean, she's jacked.

    15. CW

      Really?

    16. JD

      She's almost like a guy.

    17. MM

      Yeah, I mean, I'm for it. I w- I think it's time. The WNBA-

    18. JD

      Yeah. Let's-

    19. MM

      WNBA is turning into a-

    20. JD

      Let 'em in

    21. MM

      ... it's a drama now.

    22. JD

      Yeah.

    23. MM

It's like race, it's like racial kind of tension.

    24. JD

      Yeah.

    25. MM

      Throw that on top.

    26. CW

      The sexual orientation.

    27. MM

It's gonna be, oh, for sure.

    28. CW

Apparently all of the, the straight chicks get bullied and stuff in the, uh, locker room.

    29. JD

      Yeah.

    30. CW

Are you telling me this? Like, all of the... Yeah, it's like inverse homophobia.

  3. 8:1920:17

What It Really Takes to Become a Navy SEAL

    1. CW

Mm. How do you guys reckon you get on at SEAL selection? Jocko got to kind of assess people for a good while. Like, if you haven't got a, a background, like-

    2. JW

      I mean, I just said-

    3. CW

I think about this a lot

    4. JW

      ... I've been, I've been swimming, so.

    5. CW

You have been swimming a lot.

    6. JW

      I've been swimming.

    7. JD

      Good to go, yeah.

    8. CW

      That's why.

    9. JW

I'm pretty much ready to go. [laughs]

    10. JD

How hard, how hard can it be, man?

    11. JW

      Ready to go, pretty much.

    12. JD

      Yeah.

    13. JW

      Just let me know.

    14. JD

I bought this watch at Panera. It's Navy SEALs, so.

    15. JW

Oh, yeah. You're good to go.

    16. JD

I think I'm ready to rock, dude.

    17. JW

      [laughs]

    18. JD

How much is it? And, uh-

    19. CW

What, what's the physical requirement? Like, what would you actually-

    20. JW

The physical, the physical requirements are pretty low, actually. They're not anything crazy. And if you were, like, a normal high school athlete, you have the physical capabilities of doing it.

    21. JD

      Interesting.

    22. JW

Yeah. But once you get in there, it's definitely challenging from a physical perspective, only in the sense that you get so physically beaten down and broken down that mentally you have to be able to hang on, so.

    23. JD

      Mm.

    24. JW

It's... You know, everybody says it's, it's more mental than physical. That's not really true either, because if you can't climb that damn rope-

    25. JD

      Yeah

    26. JW

... then you're not making it through.

    27. JD

How high is the rope again?

    28. JW

There's 30-foot ropes. There's 10-foot ropes. There's a bunch of different ropes. That's just one example, obviously. But some guys, "You know, it's all mental." No, you need to train physically-

    29. JD

      Mm

    30. JW

... because otherwise you won't be able to get through any of the basic physical competency tests that you're gonna get. But it is mental, too, 'cause you can have total studs going through there, and they quit just as much as a, a slacker.

  4. 20:1724:35

    The Most Uncontrollable Navy SEALs

    1. CW

been tracked. What are, without saying who it is or whatever, what are some of the, like, most extreme guys that you'd seen either in the SEALs or that you'd heard about, like people who had a... You- you're talking about very, very extreme people in a group of very extreme people.

    2. JW

      Yeah.

    3. CW

Are there any examples that sort of come to mind where you think, "Fuck"?

    4. JW

I, I mean, guys, there's guys that definitely would get kicked out of the military because they got in too many fights, got drunk too many times. And again, those guys, a lot of the times, those are guys that you would want in war, 100%. So the, you know, what you're looking for optimally is a guy that can contain that enough that they can make it [laughs] and, and still deploy.

    5. CW

      Just about hold on.

    6. JW

Yeah. Just about hold on. And of course, you know, you need, like, the real professional guys and, that are, that are gonna keep control of those dudes. Because if you don't have that, then it's gonna get out of control real quick. And occasionally, like, platoons would get... This is in the SEAL teams. A platoon would get disbanded. They would just take a whole platoon and just disband a platoon, and usually that was because the leadership didn't have control over the boys. And if the boys get out of control like that, eh, there's nothing gonna stop them, and eventually they're just gonna get in enough fights and break enough stuff and, you know, just do bad stuff.

    7. MM

      Sickery script.

    8. JW

      Yeah, that-

    9. CW

      It's, it's like, uh, the-

    10. MM

Lord of the Flies with Navy SEALs

    11. CW

... guys at the back of the, the kids at the back of the class that always sit in a row and they always disrupt everybody else.

    12. JW

      Yeah.

    13. CW

And you're like, "Hey, no, you, you, you gotta be over there. You're on a different-"

    14. JW

The concept of the movie The Dirty Dozen, right, is like we got these guys, they're all in the brig. Like, they're criminals, but we've got this kind of mission that needs to get done. Cool. We'll put tape them and put them over here. That's what we're gonna do. So there is an element of that. You know, you don't, you don't wake up like me. I'm a kid. What do... You ask a kid, "What do you wanna do when you grow up?" "Oh, I wanna go carry a machine gun and kill people." That's not, that's not a normal thing, right?

    15. CW

      Mm-hmm.

    16. JW

So you've got those people. That's what we wanna do. And so of course you're gonna end up with some people that are like, that can't really, can't contain that as well. And it's, you know, it's, it's a bummer, but it's also, again, go look at the history of American heroes. Not all of them. Some of them are Boy Scouts, right? Some of them are legit Boy Scouts, and they were, they were just good people that joined the military for God and country. There's, that's absolutely an element of our American heritage. But there's another American heritage of Hells Angels, right? You're in the military, but you could've been in the Hells Angels 'cause you wanna fight and you wanna carry a machine gun and kill people. That's... Of course, you got people like that, and, you know, that's what, that's what the military is. It's made up of those and, and the military puts, like you were saying earlier, you, you needed discipline. You needed some direction and, and that's true for a lot of young men that wanna fight, they wanna carry a machine gun, they wanna go to war. If you don't join the military, what are you gonna do? You're gonna end up in-

    17. CW

      Right

    18. JW

... some kind of a gang. You're gonna be a cri- criminal of some kind. So cool. Join the military. We'll take that energy, we'll take that aggression, we'll take that testosterone, and we'll do something totally productive with it. And, and, and most of the time, you know, most of the people in the military, they're able to contain it, and they, they get through, or they get through their career, and then it's fine. Occasionally, a guy, like, just as a little off gas happens, and boom, you get a little explosion and somebody gets stabbed, somebody gets, you know, whatever. S- big fights happen and bad things go down and people get kicked out of the military or they get sent to the brig or whatever.

The supplement industry is full of products making claims that they can't back, which is why I'm such a massive fan of Momentous. Their co-founder, Jeff Dye, has played in the NFL and saw firsthand just how wildly the quality of supplements can vary, so he built Momentous around a higher standard. Every product from Momentous uses evidence-backed ingredients, transparent doses, and independent third-party testing. Everything is NSF certified for sport, so what's on the label is actually what's in the tub. It's why Momentous is trusted inside all 32 NFL locker rooms. It's why I've trusted them with my own supplements for years. Best of all, Momentous offers a 30-day money back guarantee, so you can buy it and try it for 29 days. Do Dolphins Work For the Navy SEALs?

    1. CW

      at checkout.

    2. MM

Yeah. I, I remember I was in, uh, I figure, I think I was in, like, Tucson, and there was, uh, there was a bunch of Navy SEALs there, and they had met me after a show. And we're all just, like, hanging out, and I, I met them before in San Diego, and they're ju- you know, just chilling. And they're pretty, like, it's, like, plain clothes. It's just, like, pretty much flannels and shit. And, uh-

    3. JW

These two girls were there talking to him by the time I got there, and then the girls were with these guys who kinda came later and started kinda, like, puffing their feathers up and, and they had no idea these guys were, like, Navy SEALs. And I was watching the whole time like, "Please fucking kick their ass. I wanna see it so bad."

    4. JD

      Yeah.

    5. JW

But they, they were, they were reserved. They had one guy finally went up... It was, there was like eight of them.

    6. JD

      Yeah.

    7. JW

I'm like, "Dude, you guys are gonna die."

    8. JD

Well, they kinda know that the, there's been light work, you know? There's some-

    9. JW

      Exactly. They were-

    10. JD

      Yeah. They're the same worth

    11. JW

... they were kinda laughing. But at the same time you could really see them kinda like-

    12. JD

      Yeah.

    13. JW

And then eventually one went up to them, was like, said something to them. They were just like, "Oh, okay," and then left. And, uh-

    14. JD

Where can I get one of those working dogs? I hate my Amazon delivery guy.

    15. JW

      [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

    16. JD

I tell him, "Put the packages on the patio. Don't leave it at the door."

    17. JW

      The selection-

    18. JD

      Gonna buy a German shepherd

    19. JW

... the selection, the selection of working dogs is probably the most stringent, way more stringent than any military special operations selection process. The amount of dogs that enter the pipeline to become a working dog is probably, like, one out of every 20 or 30 that actually become a full-fledged working dog. Yeah.

    20. JD

      Any girl dogs?

    21. JW

      I don't know. I n- I think so.

    22. JD

      Why?

    23. JW

      I think so.

    24. JD

Why is it, why, what, why?

    25. JW

      He hates girls.

    26. JD

No, that's not true at all.

    27. JW

      Ah. [laughs] He hates girls.

    28. JD

Is it so they can't join the WNBA? Is that why?

    29. JW

      [laughs]

    30. JD

No, no, no. I was trying to say it would be that women could start using that argument. Like, there's plenty of girl dogs in the Navy SEALs.

  6. 37:0838:34

Could You Run a Marathon in Wheelies?

    1. MM

      dude.

    2. JD

      Yeah, no.

    3. CW

A guy from the UK ran a marathon in wheelies.

    4. JD

      Really?

    5. MM

      Stop.

    6. JD

      That's cheating though.

    7. MM

      Isn't that cheating?

    8. CW

But it was way harder. It was infinitely harder.

    9. MM

      [laughs]

    10. CW

Like, 'cause only, the only way that it's better is if it's mostly downhill.

    11. MM

      Yo. [laughs]

    12. CW

      Right?

    13. MM

      I hope it's downhill. [laughs]

    14. CW

And he, he, he only wheelied for very small parts of it, and like if you think about how you have to run, you have to run right on the forefoot or else you've just-

    15. JD

      What is everyone doing?

    16. CW

It's basically an unstable fucking surface.

    17. MM

Don't they retract? I thought they retracted somehow.

    18. CW

      I'd... You'd know the technology-

    19. MM

      Oh

    20. CW

... of the wheelie better than I do.

    21. JD

      What is that?

    22. MM

He can't even talk about it. [laughs]

    23. CW

      Yeah. [laughs]

    24. JD

      Oh, it's classified.

    25. CW

      [laughs] That's classified.

    26. JD

What is everyone doing though? Like th- like-

    27. MM

      That's a cool thing

    28. JD

... I just did a Navy SEALs podcast yesterday, Sean Johnson, the security guy for Joe Rogan or whatever, and he's a great guy. Good... And he was like, "Yeah, our guest before us ran 500 miles," uh, or he ran-

    29. CW

      On psilocybin or whatever

    30. JD

... on psilocy- Go, "Why didn't you... What are we doing?" Now, now it's not a... Oh, you, you hear about David Goggins. You go, "The guy ran a fucking fuck ton." And he goes, "Yeah, but this guy ran a fuck ton on drugs." And you go, "Oh, okay." And then now this guy's running a fuck ton with wheelies. What's everyone up to?

  7. 38:3444:32

Is Climbing Everest a Good Idea?

    1. CW

      Uh, Nims Purja-

    2. MM

      Yeah

    3. CW

      ... passed away.

    4. MM

      Yeah. Terrible

    5. CW

You know th- that guy? He was the, the, uh, best death zone mountaineer on the planet.

    6. MM

      Yeah.

    7. CW

And, uh, he had the Netflix documentary. Did, did my show, did Rogan's show, and, uh, he passed away just doing some mountaineering stuff.

    8. MM

      Yeah.

    9. CW

Like he was a, a, not Gurkha. What's the-

    10. MM

      Yeah, he was Gurkha. Well-

    11. CW

      Was-

    12. MM

... he, he was, but then he eventually went into the-

    13. CW

Yeah, so he's like British Special Forces SAS.

    14. MM

      Oh, wow

    15. CW

Uh, and then, I mean, he did these ascents and descents without oxygen, like the most gnarly shit. Like, "Oh, we're at the top of Everest and some guy needs oxygen-"

    16. MM

      Yeah

    17. CW

... "and we don't have any. I'll just give him mine and I'll just go down normally." Uh-

    18. MM

      God damn

    19. CW

... and yeah, he, the, he, he, that was, he, he did it.

    20. MM

Yeah. His whole, his whole party was knocked out. 10 guys.

    21. JD

Yeah, but if a guy could do that on psilocybin, you know?

    22. MM

      That's another thing.

    23. CW

That might've actually been the thing that could have fixed it.

    24. JD

Yeah. Wait, maybe he could do that with wheelies. We could talk to him.

    25. MM

Everest with wheelies is actually harder, like completely harder.

    26. CW

The first guy to summit Everest without legs just happened.

    27. JD

Oh, Jesus Christ. This is what I'm talking about.

    28. CW

      So like no, no-

    29. JD

That's so impressive. What, he doesn't have legs

    30. CW

The Privacy Problem With High-Rise Living

    1. JD

      It's pretty fucking cool.

    2. MM

What's your favorite element, or least favorite element? Uh, man, I li- kinda like them all.

    3. JD

      Do you really?

    4. MM

They're all, they're all a little bit different.

    5. JD

      Yeah.

    6. MM

You know? Um, but growing, when I was growing up, you know, I was a kid in New England, and, like, I thought I was gonna be fighting in, you know, the... I thought I was gonna be fighting in Vietnam, but I ended up fighting in the, in the desert and in the city environment, so I guess I'm kinda like that.

    7. CW

So you went from humid jungle to open urban sand.

    8. MM

      Yeah. Yeah. Or city.

    9. CW

      Mm.

    10. MM

      You know, the city environment.

    11. CW

      Mm-hmm.

    12. MM

But they're all, they all have their own little unique challenges, and it's always interesting.

    13. CW

      Yeah.

    14. MM

And you gotta get good at each particular one. And I would al- I always say I'd rather be cold than too, too cold-

    15. CW

      Yeah

    16. MM

      ... or too hot, but-

    17. JD

The woods. That's, that's so Maine, right? The woods?

    18. MM

      Yeah, yeah.

    19. JD

Bigfoot. You might be the guy.

    20. MM

Oh, that's right. You're a Bigfoot guy, huh?

    21. JD

      Well, I'm just saying.

    22. MM

      [laughs]

    23. JD

Let's get you, let's get you in the woods back to where, you know, you know.

    24. MM

      Back to the roots.

    25. JD

You said you like all the area, and then-

    26. MM

      [laughs]

    27. JD

... let's get you to kill one of these fuckers. You're the guy.

    28. MM

      Could be. Could be.

    29. JD

      Why not, man?

    30. MM

      I don't know. Uh-

How Embarrassment Pushed Jeff Into Sobriety

    1. CW

Uh, how, how is sobriety going? I know that this has been-

    2. JD

      It's been great

    3. CW

... a big, big pivot for you.

    4. MM

      How long has it been?

    5. JD

I ti- uh, two years and nine months.

    6. MM

Wa- was there, like, a straw that broke the camel's back?

    7. JD

      Um-

    8. MM

Like some children's event that you went to, you finally got-

    9. JD

      [laughs]

    10. MM

... finally got kicked out of?

    11. JD

      Now, stop saying children's event.

    12. MM

      [laughs]

    13. JD

No, uh, nothing that stands out. I mean, getting arrested and crashing my car and fighting some cops, that, that part, it was that. Yeah-

    14. MM

      Yeah, that, that happened

    15. JD

... it was a big dramatic thing. It was a huge, it was a huge embarrassment.

    16. MM

      How'd the fight go?

    17. JD

      Terrible for me.

    18. MM

You don't train, neither do you.

    19. JD

Yeah, yeah. Those boys can fight.

    20. MM

      [laughs] Yeah.

    21. JD

I was a little... You know, it was a little blurry for me, if I'm honest.

    22. MM

      [laughs]

    23. JD

      No, um-

    24. MM

So you were drunk, got in a fight, and that was it for you. You said, "No more."

    25. JD

Yeah, 'cause I mean, like, also, like, I had been thinking, uh, I should be giving up the bottle for a long time.

    26. MM

      Hmm.

    27. JD

Like, it's in your mind. You're like going, "Eh, maybe..." 'Cause drinking's great, and drinking's fun until it's, till you get sad-

    28. MM

      Yeah

    29. JD

... or till you, you know, till something bad happens or till... So drinking has a lot of positive experiences, but it was, it was time to, time to wrap it up. But it's been great, and I, in my act I always joke about all the negatives of sobriety, but the truth is, like, it's fantastic and I'm very happy I did it.

    30. CW

    1. CW

    2. MM

      Nice

    3. CW

... which is gonna be fucking hilarious. So it's either today- we're gonna do it today or I'm gonna offer it to Hunter Biden. We have period cramp simulators here.

    4. MM

This is some sort of feminist propaganda, isn't it?

    5. CW

[laughs] It- this is because of your WNBA thing.

    6. MM

      Yeah. True.

    7. CW

I know. It can stay, it can stay overnight. We're gonna do it to Hunter.

    13. CW

We... No. W- we gave it to one of the guy- I'm gonna have to do it before Monday if I'm gonna get Hunter Biden to do it.

    14. MM

      Yeah, yeah.

    15. CW

Um, we gave it to one of the guys and he said, "I'm gonna test it on my arm."

    16. MM

      With period cramps.

    17. CW

And he had, uh, he had his wedding ring on. His wedding ring immediately started heating up, and he wasn't able to, like, close his hand for, like, a couple of hours.

    18. MM

      Yeah.

    19. CW

Like, Nick couldn't feel his fucking arm.

    20. MM

    21. CW

    3. MM

[laughs] I don't think I... I, I didn't even have one. No bachelor party? Yeah. I mean, ev- my wife and I got married in the San Diego courthouse, you know, like, on a Thursday afternoon. Mm. Nice. I was wearing a T-shirt and a, and a pair of surf shorts and flip-flops and went down, got married.

    4. CW

It was a minimum viable wedding.

    5. MM

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, shit. Who was your best man? Uh, I didn't have a best man there. Just, like, my platoon chief came down and was like, "You have to bring a witness." Yeah. So I was like, "Hey, Chief," and he's like, "Yep." So we just went down there and got it done. [laughs] It's the best.

    6. CW

Sorry, sorry. Referring to your wedding as went down there and got it done. [laughs]

    7. MM

Yeah. In and out. It was fucking crazy. record time. Clear. The c- [laughs] You know what's really crazy? Is we've been married for, like, almost 30 years. Yeah. You know? Yeah. It's like-

    8. CW

      Unreal. And she's British

    9. MM

... we didn't do this big ceremony, and she's a Brit. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Who needs flowers? Yeah. Me and my wife actually did it during COVID, same thing. We got a packet of papers from City Hall. It f- Pennsylvania's like a Quaker state, technically, so we did a, it's called a Quaker ceremony where you just get the packets from the city hall, bring it home, you sign it, and you have to give it, like, 48 hours, and then, like, your neighbor can come witness and sign, and then you're good to go. Yeah.

    10. CW

What'd you give it 48 hours for? Like, to let it cool or something?

    11. MM

I think just- Yeah, let it cool out. Yeah, it isn't just, you know- Sober up ... it's not Vegas. You know what I mean? You gotta- We- ... cool out ... we did do a, we went to England and did, we, I don't know what, I don't know if this is an official thing, but they called it a blessing where we did, like, a, a marriage thing in England where we pretended like we were getting married even though we were already married. Yeah. And everyone knew that we were married.

    12. CW

      Dressed up and-

      Yeah, it sucks now.

    3. MM

      Yeah.

    4. CW

      Why?

    5. JD

'Cause drinking was a whole part of that.

    6. MM

      W- women got uglier. [laughs]

    7. CW

      What's that?

    8. MM

I said the women got uglier for you. [laughs]

    9. JD

Yeah, you go, "Who's this? What's her name?" Uh, yeah, the w- that is way harder. 'Cause, like, drinking was, is the easiest thing. You wanna get drinks?

    10. MM

      Mm.

    11. JD

      Hey, you wanna go, like-

    12. MM

      Yeah

    13. JD

... it's just the way, and now, like-

You wanna go to a coffee shop and both get nervous in front of each other?

    15. JD

      Exactly.

    16. MM

      [laughs]

    17. JD

That's what it feels like. Like, I literally, uh, have been hanging out with this, this woman who I really like, and she's like... I literally texted her, 'cause it was just not going well in the texts. You know, she's, she's a, a girl I know from comedy. And I, and I was like, "Hey, I think you're really attractive and you're nice to me. Like, uh, would you like to go out?" Like, I just had to eventually, like, just be direct.

    18. CW

      Say the thing.

    19. JD

Yeah, because I couldn't just be like, "We're getting drinks after comedy," and then we would've, like, flirted there-

    20. MM

      Mm

    21. JD

... and then that would've went whatever way it would've went.

    22. MM

Yeah. It's like Love on the Spectrum right away, where like-

    23. JD

      Yeah

    24. MM

... "I'd like to see you."

    25. JD

      It feels exactly like that.

    26. MM

      [laughs]

    27. JD

Yeah. And then we watch anime and drink Mountain Dew for dinner.

    28. CW

You're saying sober dating is like Love on the Spectrum?

    29. JD

      It is.

    1. MM

Yeah. Do you get lonely when you're just sitting there?

    2. JD

Yeah. We're all lonely. I'm super lonely. I don't think that has to do with single guy. I think we're all lonely.

    3. CW

Oh, I've got, I got a theory that single guys after 7:00 PM in the house go completely fucking insane.

    4. JD

      [laughs]

    5. MM

      Absolutely.

    6. JD

    25. JD

No, I think you're right. I think it's a hilarious sentence, but it, I think it might be something to it.

    26. MM

      No dates.

    10. JD

Yeah. Well, I mean, I guess they are dates, they're just not very formal. It's not like we're going to, like, a thing.

    11. MM

      Just eating pussy, right? [laughs]

    12. JD

No, no, I mean... I guess... Oh, I'll tell you one. Here's one. We went to a movie and dinner. That's a date, right?

      Yeah, yeah.

    15. MM

      How was it?

    16. JD

    17. MM

      What?

    18. JD

Like, she came out of her house and I go, "Jesus, I'm gonna be walking around with this."

    19. MM

      What was the outfit?

    20. JD

She- it was ridiculous. It was, it was, it was like, uh, we were going to a swingers party or something. I'm going, "Now I have to w-" 'Cause I dress pretty, you know, cowboy guy, you know? And I was going, uh-

    21. MM

She was scantily clad, you're saying?

    22. JD

... well, very, very revealing clothes. Silky, like, little, like one-piece dress.

    23. CW

This was a problem for you?

    24. JD

No, it's not a problem necessarily if I already loved her or something, but it's a first date. We're look- we're, we're judging each other, you know? It's kind of a first date.

    25. MM

      Mm-hmm. Yeah.

    26. JD

So I'm going, "I don't need this," you know? But anyway, she gets in my truck and we go. And, um, the part that made me think of it is we were watching a movie called Backrooms.

    27. MM

      Mm.

    28. JD

Now, the, I won't spoil it for anybody who hasn't seen Backrooms, it's still in theaters or whatever, but the idea is that, like, you're trying to put together what's happening as the movie's going. So I'm in. I'm all in. I'm like, "This movie rules." And she keeps talking. She's like, "And this is, this guy is in, I think he's in this other movie." And I'm like, "Yeah, yeah, he's in a lot of movies." You know? And she just keeps talking and I don't want her talking during the movie. It's like I was with my niece or something, and I was just kinda, like, trying to give her the signals, you know, that I don't like it. After, like, an hour into the movie, I'm liking the movie, the movie rules, I'm excited, I'm trying to figure out where it's going. Also, all my friends saw it, like, the night before, so I'm excited to be able to talk about the thing. And then she goes, "This movie sucks. Let's leave." And I was like, "Goddammit." And so we left. Never got to see the other half of Backrooms. And people are like, "How was it?" And I go, "I don't know. I saw the beginning and I don't know." But I left because I'm a good guy.

    4. JD

      [laughs] Jesus Christ.

    5. CW

Would you consider hymen surgery to reset yours?

    6. MM

      Well, I'm a man.

    7. JD

      He doesn't have a hymen.

    8. CW

      [laughs]

    9. MM

You have a gymen. Every guy has gymen.

    10. CW

But you do have a very different kind of body count to the ones that the girls are going to go and do, right?

And neither one of them can reset it.

    12. CW

      [laughs]

    13. JD

There's nothing in the world that we can reset either of those.

    14. CW

      That's true.

    15. MM

      Yeah.

    16. CW

      That's true. But that's, that's a thing. That's chicks going to Brazil, 13,000.

    17. JD

      What a, what a-

    18. CW

      Oh, there we go

    19. JD

      ... what a scam.

    20. MM

Oh, that... Look, we talk- That's, that's new chapter.

    21. JD

That ought to delete Justin's contact card out of your phone.

    22. CW

      There you go. That's it.

    23. MM

      I mean, 13 grand.

    24. CW

      True.

    25. JD

Oh, look, look at that virgin.

    26. CW

      [laughs]

    27. JD

There she is. She got some flower water poured on her head.

    28. MM

      I would be-

    29. JD

And now that means she didn't bang Ricky.

    30. CW

      [laughs]

    Why Weed Affects Everyone Differently

    1. CW

uh, are you still on, are you weeding still? Are you still smoking, or is... 'Cause you did for a while, right?

    2. MM

Yeah, I did for, like a really long time. I, it naturally kinda just fell off, honestly.

    3. CW

So it wasn't a get arrested-

    4. MM

      N- no

    5. CW

      ... causes catastrophe.

    6. MM

Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no.

    7. JD

I got a question for Matt.

    8. MM

      Yeah.

    9. JD

You still drinking raw milk straight from the-

    10. MM

      Absolutely.

    11. JD

      Yeah, dude.

    12. MM

      Absolutely. Are you, are you-

    13. JD

      'Cause it came up wins

    14. MM

      ... against raw milk?

    15. JD

      Not at all.

    16. MM

      Okay.

    17. JD

      I thought it was awesome.

    18. MM

      Yeah. It rules.

    19. JD

When you told me about it, I was like, "I gotta try that."

    20. MM

      It, it rules.

    21. JD

      The problem is-

    22. MM

      You're against weed

    23. JD

... my commitment to, like, finding this fucking milk was-

    24. MM

      It's tough

    25. JD

... not as committed as yours. It's hard to get.

    26. MM

Go to a farmer's market. Go to a farmer's market.

    27. JD

Well, I don't even, never been to a farmer's market in my life.

    28. MM

      [laughs] That's crazy. Why not?

    29. JD

Those places piss me off, too. I go in, I go, "What is all this dog shit?"

    30. MM

      Farmer's market rules.

Why a 25mm Sniper Rifle Should Never Exist

    1. JW

That's it. Can you tell us about, can you tell that story about the huge fuck off sniper rifle thingy then? [laughs] Oh, yeah. That was so fucking cool. Yeah. Uh, so somebody made a sniper rifle to, to see if this was a good idea, and I, I wanna say it was either a 20 millimeter or a 25, but I think it was a 25 millimeter sniper rifle. And they brought it up to our sniper school, and they wanted to see if this, like it was a viable idea. So a 25 millimeter is massive. This is a massive freaking bullet. And this, uh, they start giving it to the students to see if they can hit anything. Well, you're, you're like bracing for- [laughs] ... for that thing to go off, and no one could shoot it properly. And, you know, guy might hit the target one time, and then they're just so petrified to pull the trigger again. They'd miss, and they would just be like, "Hey, I'm not shooting this anymore." And so I have a buddy who was the senior guy that was in charge of the sniper school, who is one hard, hard individual and a little crazy, and no one could make this gun work. And then finally he's like, "All right, give it to me." And he sat down and just like gritted his teeth and just cracked off a round, hit the target, just sucked it up, cracked off another round, hit the target again, cracked off three. That's like a normal three-round group. Puts it all on target. And the people that had manufactured this weapon are like, "Oh my gosh, it's a viable option." And he just got up and was like, "Do not make this weapon." [laughs] Oh my God. It was just so crazy. But a testament to that dude who is like just a hard, crazy dude. Yeah. I'm like that guy, dude. [laughs] Yeah. He's like the guy, one of the guys we were talking about earlier. Yes. Like, yeah, you know, you, he, he would need an outlet, you know what I mean? But that's exactly who you want in war, like somebody that'd be like, "Oh, you want, no one can do this? Cool. Watch this. I'll do it. I'll d- I'll take whatever concussive impact there is to the shooting of this thing. I'll do it." What is it that's happening if you fire a gun that's that big? Is it just the shockwave? Is it the fact that it's hitting you in the body? Like what, where's the- Yeah, the worst thing is the shockwave. Like the shockwave, that concussive wave that you're gonna get over your head, you know, is gonna be, it's gonna be gnarly. That's the real thing. And it's gonna be like just sickness, disorienting, little like micro- Yeah, it's like getting cracked in the head. You know, like when you spar and you get- Well- ... somebody cracks you and you're like, "Oh." You see that little white flash. And you can still power through it like he did, and then you take another, you know, crack to the head and you're like, "Okay, I can power through it." Is that the you that's cracking you to the head? Yeah, you, you, you're cracking yourself. By pulling the trigger of this thing. And then the next day you're like, "Wow, I wonder why I have this headache." Oh, yeah. I can't remember the last day. Yeah, exactly. Is that not, you know when guys have got huge cannons and they're, like in World War II- Oh, yeah ... and stuff like that, would that not have been that times a thousand? Oh, totally. Totally, yeah. Would it affect a dolphin's brain the same as it would affect a- Possibly. Possibly. I don't know ... if you get the 25 millimeter- Depends, depends on who's riding the thing's back ... just fucking swimming around going, "Ah." [laughs] The shock is what hurts the worst. [laughs] It's not the- Yeah, if you're like, after picking mines off the Strait of Hormuz, yeah, probably. I always think about seeing World War II shit when the guys are just- Oh, yeah ... loading huge shells in- Yeah ... and then they've got a, like a- Yeah ... bathroom light switch pull. I don't know. Boom. Yep. They didn't even wear- Yeah ... hearing protection either. No, yeah. Like, they didn't wear hearing prote- they just, just got some. Yeah. I thought about that today when I was shooting it, just about how much my grandpa would've loved just the technology that was in the scope. Yeah. The scope alone, I was like, "This is pr- I mean, I'm nailing it," because the scope is so accurate and whatever. It's like they, they didn't have any of that, you know? Chasing away. They're just shooting stuff. What's the truth around, there's these rumors, I don't know whether it was World War II or Vietnam or whatever, the number of soldiers that never fired their weapon directly at the enemy. Yeah. N- it's- Does that, did, did that ever get debunked or whatever? Yeah, it got debunked. So there's a guy named S.L.A. Marshall who wrote this book and wrote these theories about how... And he went around and interviewed soldiers, and it turns out, you know, it wasn't true. You know? Like, he used it, and it's kinda, he had the hypothesis going into it, but it wasn't true. And the theory was that maybe people on one side of the battle were not prepared to try and fire their weapon at- Yeah. The, the theory was like it's such an abhorrent thing for humans to like shoot a weapon at other humans that they just would get to that point and they'd go, "I c- I can't do it." And, you know, the, the number was like 10% of Only 10% of the troops d- involved in direct combat would actually engage the enemy. And so that's when they started using man-shaped silhouettes to shoot at-

    2. JD

      Hmm. Yeah

    3. JW

... for targets, and, and even putting, like, pictures, so you're get... Oh, they're gonna condition these guys to be able to shoot, you know, at, at man-shaped targets, because they said they needed that kind of conditioning. But again, the guy, S.L.A. Marshall, he was, you know, he was, like, a reservist, and he was a, he was a journalist in his regular life. So it was kind of him, you know, hyping up a story and-

    4. JD

      His sensationalism

    5. JW

      ... publishing up, yeah, sensationalism

    6. JD

      Wasn't hard to... But it-

    7. CW

Also pretty nuts to explain, like, World War II casualty numbers, be like, "Yeah, it was just 10% of the guys-"

    8. JW

      Yeah. [laughs]

    9. CW

      "... shooting." [laughs]

    10. JD

Oh, yeah. Imagine if everybody else had decided to fire their weapons.

    11. CW

      Yeah, yeah.

    12. JD

There'd just be no one left.

    13. JW

      Yeah, yeah.

    14. CW

      Yeah, it's pretty nuts.

    15. JW

Yeah, and he, he kind of, he also made some stories up about how much he had been in combat in World War I. So it was the whole thing. And he had a lot of clout inside the military. You know, he had a lot of clout-

    16. JD

      Mm-hmm

    17. JW

... from that. You know, he wr- he wrote that b- that theory. He wrote another theory about how much gu- weight guys can carry. That was a little bit more realistic, but yeah. So it's a little bit debunked.

    18. JD

What happens to guys like that? Is he on, like, a list right now, or is, like, people wanna kill that guy?

    19. JW

      Well-

    20. JD

You know, when someone starts publishing shit and making things up, it must piss you off.

    21. JW

Yeah, I think it pisses everyone off.

    22. JD

      Yeah, that's my point.

    23. JW

You know? That's a g- it's kind of the, the rule is-

    24. JD

      You broke the code

    25. JW

... yeah. Like, hey, don't try and make yourself into something that you weren't, you know?

    26. JD

      Right.

    27. JW

And, and generally speaking, it's like, oh, if you're in the military, good job. Thank you for your service. Whether, you know, there's a whole spectrum of things that you could do, everyone from being a, a supply clerk to somebody that's on the front lines-

    28. JD

      Yeah

    29. JW

... you know, get in direct combat. And it's like, yeah, everyone did their part. Thank you for doing your part. Where people get into trouble is when they make it out to seem as if they did more than they actually did.

    30. JD

      That's bullshit.

  18. 1:52:461:58:31

The Best Perks of Being a Veteran

    1. CW

... what are the best privileges, vet- veteran privileges that you get? I always hear that you can, uh, active military gets on the plane first. That seems pretty fucking cool.

    2. JW

      Yeah.

    3. JD

      Not even first.

    4. CW

      But what are the others?

    5. JD

Not even first, though. I think ConciergeKey gets on before the military. I swear to God, I don't think they're first.

    6. JW

Well, you can only get ConciergeKey if you're a veteran.

    7. JD

      [laughs] I don't think so.

    8. CW

I don't know what that is. What is that?

    9. JD

      I th- uh, I don't know.

    10. CW

      It's a really rare thing.

    11. JD

      Some, like, super sky mile.

    12. CW

You get, like, a million miles.

    13. JD

'Cause I remember, I, I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive it's not military first. It's, like, co- I swear to God, it's like, [laughs] it's, like, Sky Club or something. [laughs]

    14. CW

      Yeah, it's some bullshit.

    15. JD

      I swear to God.

    16. CW

If you have a Seahawks streaming service-

    17. JD

      I could be wrong

    18. CW

... you can go, you can-

    19. JD

      I could be wrong, but I, I'm, I haven't re-

    20. JW

I think, I think, I, I think you're wrong. I think you might be wrong.

    21. JD

      Okay, it is military then.

    22. JW

I think, I think active duty military-

    23. JD

      Is first

    24. JW

      ... goes first.

    25. JD

      Okay.

    26. JW

I think that is who goes first. They go right after the pre-boarding.

    27. JD

      Oh, okay.

    28. JW

      And then it's, like, the-

    29. CW

It's disabled people, people that need-

    30. JW

      Yeah
