Intro

Marques Brownlee 0:00 Guys, what came first?

Speaker 0:02 Chicken or the egg?

Andrew Manganelli 0:02 Sharks.

David Imel 0:03 76ers.

Andrew Manganelli 0:03 Before trees.

Marques Brownlee 0:05 Me.

David Imel 0:05 Wow. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 0:07 Sharks-

Speaker 0:07 You guys really do listen

David Imel 0:07 ... sharks came before fire.

Andrew Manganelli 0:10 That's not true.

Speaker 0:10 No.

Marques Brownlee 0:10 Uh-huh.

Speaker 0:11 That's not true.

David Imel 0:11 Wait, like-

Marques Brownlee 0:12 Do you know that? Do you know lightning hit things-

David Imel 0:12 ... like, people making fire?

Speaker 0:13 And started on fire.

Marques Brownlee 0:14 I learned this on Reddit, so t-

David Imel 0:15 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 0:16 Asterisk.

David Imel 0:17 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 0:17 Asterisk. [upbeat music] Yo, what is up people of the Internet? Welcome back to another episode of the Waveform Podcast. We're your hosts. I'm Marques.

Andrew Manganelli 0:27 I'm Andrew.

David Imel 0:28 And I'm David.

Marques Brownlee 0:29 So not a ton of news this week, but we still have plenty to talk about. Uh, in today's episode, we're gonna talk about Apple's new leasing program, some Framework laptop thoughts, video, uh, viewers have already picked that up. Uh, Volvo discontinuing LiDAR in all of their cars, and a pretty insane looking robot cleaning service, uh, that hit our Twitter feeds this week. And then we'll wrap it all up with a game. But first, before or before, did they even test

0:53 – 4:55

LeBron to the Sixers

Marques Brownlee 0:53 this? LeBron or the Sixers? [horn blaring]

Speaker 0:55 That is right every- Dude, I-

Marques Brownlee 0:57 I figured

Speaker 0:58 ... thank you to everyone

Marques Brownlee 0:58 ... figured you wanna chime in, Ellis. [laughs]

Speaker 1:00 Dude, all weekend my mentions were blowing up with people being like, "What do you think? I came here first." Thank you for thinking of me.

Marques Brownlee 1:07 I feel like I, I was honored to be the one to break the news to you.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10 Oh, can you tell that story?

Speaker 1:11 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:11 I remember... Where was I? I think I just was walking back across the studio and I checked my phone, and I saw that LeBron had posted a video, and it was like a two-minute video on Instagram. And I was like, "Well, if LeBron's trolling with two-minute videos on Instagram while everyone's waiting for his decision, that's pretty crazy." So I scrolled to the end of the video, and it's just a slow mo Sixers logo, and I was like, "Oh, so this is it."

David Imel 1:30 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 1:31 And so I walk up to you and I go, "Ellis, it, it happened."

David Imel 1:35 It happened.

Marques Brownlee 1:35 Ellis goes, "Whoa, whoa, wait a second. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Hold on." 'Cause he doesn't, he don't wanna be duped, you know? He'd been saying it for a while.

David Imel 1:42 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 1:42 But it turned out it was true.

Speaker 1:43 It was true, yeah. No, I couldn't have gotten... It was actually awesome 'cause you were like, "LeBron made his decision," and then you didn't tell me what.

Marques Brownlee 1:50 Yeah.

Speaker 1:50 And I was like, "Oh my God, this is perfect." But I just wanna say, I feel like we're gonna have a lot of new Sixers fans because of this.

Marques Brownlee 1:58 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:58 A lot of people, and I'm so stoked. Feel free to bandwagon. We're, we, the more the merrier in Sixers Nation. However, and this is part of the reason this feels so good, this is the most chaotic team you could possibly root for, which is part of the fun. In the last, like, four years, we've seen players' appendix rupture right before the playoffs.

David Imel 2:20 [laughs]

Speaker 2:20 We've had players get hit by cars randomly and get taken out of series.

Marques Brownlee 2:24 Hm.

Speaker 2:24 Almost every single player we've ever passed up on has won a championship, including two in the past six months, Landry Shamet and Mikal Bridges.

Marques Brownlee 2:33 Wow.

Speaker 2:34 This is like a fan base where every possible thing that could go wrong, goes wrong. And so the fact that we ended up with the GOAT, I just, this, this story writes itself.

David Imel 2:45 Don't jinx it.

Speaker 2:45 The process, I'm not-

Marques Brownlee 2:46 The process.

David Imel 2:47 There's still time.

Speaker 2:48 The process is the greatest story ever told, okay?

Marques Brownlee 2:51 It does feel like, uh, if, I don't know how many people play NBA 2K, but if you play MyCAREER, you'll, like, play to the end of the season, and then you start a new season and you... It, they kinda like hit shuffle on all the rosters. And so you'll start playing a game and you'll be like, "Oh, that's ra- There's just like random people that are on different teams now to simulate, like, a couple off-season trades," and that's kinda how this feels.

David Imel 3:11 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 3:11 Like, LeBron in a Sixers jersey? That doesn't seem right.

Speaker 3:13 It really-

Marques Brownlee 3:13 But I guess it's real.

Speaker 3:14 It, what it's more the, it's like what makes it an even crazier story is, like, we've had this, we had this executive for a long time named Daryl Morey, that's like the guy who essentially picks who's on your basketball team, and he constantly was making these bets on players that didn't pay off, and people were sort of like, "Is this, does this guy really know what he's doing? We're not really sure. He has this good rep, but the team's never really that good." And then we fire him, and we hire this new guy named Mike Ganzi. And we're like, "Well, okay, you know, Mike Ganzi, his first off-season, let's see how he does," and immediately gets Jaylen Brown [laughs] and LeBron James.

Marques Brownlee 3:46 [laughs]

Speaker 3:46 It's like, oh my goodness.

Marques Brownlee 3:48 Chips are in.

Speaker 3:48 So yeah, this year is gonna be so much fun. I'm not making any predictions, but-

Marques Brownlee 3:52 I was just about to ask for a prediction. That's too bad

Speaker 3:54 ... I can't, I can't make any predictions. All I'm saying is that as someone who has been on this ride for quite some time now, seen extreme highs and extreme lo- so many debilitating lows, um, boy, this is such an exciting chapter. Yeah, so welcome. Welcome all new Sixers fans. I even wore, this is official Sixers merch. Uh, my friend Crystal, who listens to the podcast, instructed me that this loosely translates phonetically to Embiid in Chinese. [laughs]

David Imel 4:24 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 4:25 I believe you.

Speaker 4:25 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 4:26 I'm not, I wanna Google Lens it just to make sure-

Speaker 4:29 Yeah, yeah

Marques Brownlee 4:29 ... but I'm just gonna trust you on this one.

Speaker 4:30 I hope it does. Anyway.

Marques Brownlee 4:31 I do trust you.

Speaker 4:31 Thank you.

Andrew Manganelli 4:31 Wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 4:32 Thank you for asking.

Andrew Manganelli 4:33 Nixon five. Um, so before they even-

Speaker 4:36 [laughs] You're the one that predicted this.

Andrew Manganelli 4:37 [laughs]

Speaker 4:37 Half of my tweets were like, "Andrew was right."

Andrew Manganelli 4:39 I, okay.

Speaker 4:39 "You called it."

Andrew Manganelli 4:40 That's-

Marques Brownlee 4:40 Yeah, he did say that

Andrew Manganelli 4:41 ... that was quantity over quality. I've been saying that-

David Imel 4:44 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 4:44 ... for weeks, and it just happened to land on the perfect timing.

Marques Brownlee 4:48 Mm-hmm.

Andrew Manganelli 4:48 I take no credit. Don't look at my Polymarket bets, but, uh- [laughs]

Speaker 4:52 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 4:53 Um, we do have a did they even test this?

4:55 – 8:38

Did they even test this

Andrew Manganelli 4:55 And I'm excited for this one.

Marques Brownlee 4:56 What is it?

Andrew Manganelli 4:57 Okay. You know how much I love Reddit-

Marques Brownlee 4:59 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 4:59 ... and their new Reddit app.

Marques Brownlee 5:00 The new... Oh, you hate the new Reddit app.

Speaker 5:03 He loves it.

Andrew Manganelli 5:04 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 5:04 Yeah.

Speaker 5:04 He loves it.

Andrew Manganelli 5:04 I've been getting these ads on the new Reddit app that make no sense. Who... And I'm gonna show it to you guys. Who wants to see this first?

Speaker 5:13 Me.

Marques Brownlee 5:13 The ad makes no sense?

Andrew Manganelli 5:14 I'm gonna show David. Just, so I've taken screen recordings, 'cause this has happened to me multiple times.

Marques Brownlee 5:18 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 5:18 And I have multiple. And I want David to describe when you press the play button what this looks like.

Marques Brownlee 5:22 Wait, you're pressing play on the ad? Oh, it auto-plays?

Andrew Manganelli 5:25 Well, sorry. I took a screen recording-

Marques Brownlee 5:27 Oh, I see, I see, I see

Andrew Manganelli 5:28 ... of what it was. Okay.

Marques Brownlee 5:28 Okay. So there's an ad, and it's like half the screen, and Andrew is scrolling down... Oh, he scroll... Oh, oh, oh, okay. Okay. So there's a large, large image where you have to scroll about four to five full swipes to actually-

Andrew Manganelli 5:43 I wanna show Marques this

Marques Brownlee 5:44 ... get through the, the video.

David Imel 5:44 I hate these types of ad-

Marques Brownlee 5:45 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 5:46 ... no, I don't think it's on purpose.

David Imel 5:48 It's a very, very large ad.

Andrew Manganelli 5:48 I think this is a bug.

Marques Brownlee 5:49 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 5:49 Can you guys see this?

Marques Brownlee 5:50 It's very zoomed in too-

Andrew Manganelli 5:51 It's in, it's-

Marques Brownlee 5:52 ... so it seems like a bug, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 5:53 ... it's for something called Ollie dog food, and I've had it happen multiple times to me.

Marques Brownlee 5:57 Wait, only on that ad? Only on the-

Andrew Manganelli 5:59 It's only ever for this type. It's a c- a couple different photos, but something about it, the photo-

Marques Brownlee 6:05 Mm

Andrew Manganelli 6:05 ... is getting uploaded incorrectly to where the aspect ratio is probably, like- What, one by 10?

David Imel 6:13 Six by 24, but vertically.

Andrew Manganelli 6:15 So 24 by 6?

David Imel 6:16 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 6:16 It's just, like, super, super long and will take up the whole screen for multiple scrolls, and I can't figure out [laughs] why it's only this ad and why-

David Imel 6:27 Are you sure-

Andrew Manganelli 6:27 ... it happens all the time

David Imel 6:28 ... it's not, like, intentional?

Marques Brownlee 6:29 Oh, yeah, intentional, like a marketing thing that they did?

David Imel 6:31 Yeah, like that actually-

Marques Brownlee 6:32 That doesn't make you trust the brand

David Imel 6:32 ... would be shocking.

Andrew Manganelli 6:33 That's so much worse. That's-

David Imel 6:35 I don't know

Andrew Manganelli 6:35 ... if Reddit's allowing you to-

Marques Brownlee 6:36 You're talking about it

Andrew Manganelli 6:37 ... if Reddit's allowing you to take ads that take up that much screen-

David Imel 6:40 Oh, no, yeah, bad on Reddit

Andrew Manganelli 6:41 ... it absolutely destroys-

David Imel 6:43 Great for this company

Andrew Manganelli 6:43 ... it destroys user experience, which is already destroyed because the Reddit app is dog water.

David Imel 6:48 It's horrible, yeah.

Marques Brownlee 6:49 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 6:49 I don't know. This is clearly a... And it's only for this ad, 'cause I do get other ones, but this happens to me probably once a day. I get this specific ad, and it just makes me scroll forever and ever and ever, and I'm really interested if this happens to anyone else.

Marques Brownlee 7:03 That might be a, like a, a hack that they found. Like, if-

Andrew Manganelli 7:07 You think, like-

David Imel 7:08 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 7:08 ... the dog food company-

Marques Brownlee 7:09 Yeah, like the dog food company's like, "If we upload this video in this aspect ratio, Reddit will not flag it, and it'll run, and it'll take up multiple scrolls."

David Imel 7:16 I actually believe that.

Marques Brownlee 7:17 Yeah.

David Imel 7:18 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 7:18 Kudos to the marketing person. Although this is one of those things where it just makes me really mad. So, like, I don't... If the ad just makes me mad, why would I ever, ever purchase the-

David Imel 7:29 I think once in a while, uh, people who were scrolling, when you get to that ad and it's, like, multiple scrolls, they'll tap it by accident instead of scrolling.

Andrew Manganelli 7:37 That's true.

David Imel 7:37 And they end up on a website.

Andrew Manganelli 7:39 And that looks like good page clicks, but that's just kind of like how Google Docs has the generate image button when you try and add a photo, and it's like, are we really generating images or are we still just clicking the wrong thing and you're getting false clicks on this?

David Imel 7:53 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 7:53 Um, my other quick Reddit thing is, and I wonder if this happens to anyone else, if you look at your inbox for, like, people who reply to comments on the Reddit app, it doesn't sync with the browser.

David Imel 8:04 Mm.

Andrew Manganelli 8:04 And maybe that's an old Reddit thing, but if I get, like, three people replying to a comment and I look at all of them in the Reddit app, when I go onto my browser, I still have those three notifications on the browser and vice versa.

David Imel 8:14 Hm.

Andrew Manganelli 8:14 It's-

David Imel 8:15 Interesting. They definitely do not test that.

Andrew Manganelli 8:17 Terrible.

David Imel 8:17 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 8:17 They don't test anything except for how much money they can make to try and IPO, if they did or not.

David Imel 8:22 They already IPO'd.

Andrew Manganelli 8:23 Yeah.

David Imel 8:23 They, they've been on public for a while, yeah. They're actually doing quite well, not that we care, but they are.

Andrew Manganelli 8:29 Damn it.

David Imel 8:30 Okay. [laughs] You wanna talk about the update to the Garmin Cirqa?

Andrew Manganelli 8:34 Oh, yeah, one really quick thing. They did, through

8:38 – 10:14

Garmin Cirqa update

Andrew Manganelli 8:38 all of the feedback, it looks like they did add live heart rate monitoring in the app, which should have been a default in the first place.

David Imel 8:46 Mm. If you're not privy to this-

Andrew Manganelli 8:46 They did the bare minimum

David Imel 8:47 ... it was, uh, Gar- last week we talked about Garmin's smart band that rivals the Fitbit Air and the Whoop, and, uh, we got one in, right? We-

Andrew Manganelli 8:55 Not yet.

David Imel 8:55 Not yet? We're potentially gonna get one?

Marques Brownlee 8:57 I got the band. I don't have the Garmin yet, annoyingly. Wait, they're shipped separately to me, so that's unfortunate.

Andrew Manganelli 9:03 This happens sometimes.

David Imel 9:03 You actually band... So the s- the band is separate from the module.

Andrew Manganelli 9:06 The bicep band.

Marques Brownlee 9:06 I got a, uh, arm band.

David Imel 9:08 Oh, I see.

Marques Brownlee 9:09 And, uh, I got a package from Garmin, and I said, "Oh, finally, we get to test it." And I open it, and it's just the arm band.

David Imel 9:13 Just the arm band.

Marques Brownlee 9:14 So I'm still waiting for it-

David Imel 9:15 Okay

Marques Brownlee 9:15 ... but I'll test it.

David Imel 9:16 Interesting.

Marques Brownlee 9:16 Yeah.

David Imel 9:17 $200, no subscription, so better than Whoop. Uh, anything's better than Whoop. But, uh-

Marques Brownlee 9:23 Cheaper

David Imel 9:23 ... not-

Andrew Manganelli 9:24 Knock on-

David Imel 9:24 ... not quite as good as the Fitbit.

Marques Brownlee 9:25 [laughs] I thought only Andrew was the hater. Now David's the hater, too.

David Imel 9:27 I used Fulltho, and, like, I don't understand the market for that product when, when all these other products exist. Marques would disagree with me.

Marques Brownlee 9:35 I have found that one of the cardinal sins I've made in the past is by saying, "If it's not for me, it must be bad." But it is not-

David Imel 9:41 That's fair enough

Marques Brownlee 9:42 ... necessarily bad.

David Imel 9:42 That's fair enough.

Marques Brownlee 9:43 Yeah.

David Imel 9:44 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 9:44 Okay.

David Imel 9:44 There are some people that are hardcore Whoop people-

Marques Brownlee 9:46 Yes, there are

David Imel 9:46 ... so I understand. But-

Marques Brownlee 9:47 Yeah. But yeah.

David Imel 9:49 But anyway-

Marques Brownlee 9:49 I will definitely test it

David Imel 9:50 ... they were not inclu- they were including live heart rate tracking only in the subscription version.

Marques Brownlee 9:55 Mm.

David Imel 9:56 But they took that off of that, and it is now in the free version.

Marques Brownlee 9:58 You think we did that?

David Imel 9:59 Uh, I think-

Marques Brownlee 10:00 Or enough people agreed with us

David Imel 10:02 ... like, Desfit and DC Rainmaker probably did that-

Marques Brownlee 10:03 Okay, dope

David Imel 10:03 ... 'cause I'm sure they-

Marques Brownlee 10:04 Shout out to them-

David Imel 10:05 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 10:05 ... for, yeah, for-

David Imel 10:06 They're more influential in that space than-

Andrew Manganelli 10:08 In that space, they're, like, the GOATs of it.

Marques Brownlee 10:10 Yeah.

David Imel 10:10 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 10:10 Love it.

David Imel 10:11 All right, so last week we briefly mentioned the

10:14 – 15:34

Apple Leasing Program

David Imel 10:14 potential of a new Ap- Apple leasing program, uh, because it was a report from Bloomberg that had broken. Turns out it was almost entirely correct. Uh, this has gone live as of, I believe, yesterday. So now Apple is calling this the Apple Upgrade Leasing Program. Um, it's pretty much what we thought. Prices start at 17.99 a month for iPhones, 11.99 a month for Apple Watches, 11.99 a month for iPads. Do not lease an iPad, guys. You don't need to lease a freaking iPad.

Marques Brownlee 10:42 [laughs]

David Imel 10:42 And 20, uh, 25 bucks a month for Macs. Now, the one thing that was different was that, uh, I believe Bloomberg had said that there would be no iPhone 17E in the program, but it is indeed in the program.

Marques Brownlee 10:53 Mm.

Andrew Manganelli 10:53 Sure is.

David Imel 10:54 I wanted to mention that I saw my first ever iPhone 17E in the wild yesterday.

Marques Brownlee 10:59 Interesting.

David Imel 10:59 Yeah. I do not know who that phone is for and who would buy it, but somebody did, so.

Marques Brownlee 11:05 That's fun. Yeah, I, I've had, and I know you probably spend more time in, like, New York City than I do, but I think on airplanes and in airports, that's when I have the most wild phone sightings of just like-

David Imel 11:15 Mm

Marques Brownlee 11:15 ... "Oh, that's the first time I've seen that phone."

David Imel 11:16 Subways for me usually, subways.

Marques Brownlee 11:18 Yeah, where there's just a lot of people, all their phones out.

David Imel 11:20 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 11:20 And, uh, yeah, that... I don't know that I've seen a 17E or at least recognized it.

David Imel 11:26 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 11:26 Yet.

Andrew Manganelli 11:26 It's harder to recognize.

Marques Brownlee 11:28 Yeah.

David Imel 11:28 Yeah, it's the... Well, it's one camera, so it's easy to see that part.

Marques Brownlee 11:31 Did it have MagSafe?

David Imel 11:31 It looks like a 7, though.

Marques Brownlee 11:32 One camera plus a MagSafe wallet? That's a 17E.

David Imel 11:35 Well-

Marques Brownlee 11:35 Oh, if you could see that

David Imel 11:36 ... I mean, it's also just, I think the shape is pretty recognizable.

Andrew Manganelli 11:39 Could be the 16E though, right?

Marques Brownlee 11:40 Mm.

David Imel 11:41 Well, sure.

Marques Brownlee 11:41 Yeah. True.

David Imel 11:42 Sure, any E device, I would say.

Andrew Manganelli 11:43 Yeah, yeah.

Marques Brownlee 11:44 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

David Imel 11:45 Well, not any. Whatever. Okay.

Marques Brownlee 11:46 [laughs]

David Imel 11:47 We know what we're talking about. 16E or 17E.

Marques Brownlee 11:48 That area.

David Imel 11:48 Yeah. Separately, um, there was some speculation that, because 9to5Mac found some code in the iOS 27 beta of a new restricted mode that kind of restricts the amount of things that you can do on the phone, and people were speculating that this was for the leasing program for people that missed their [laughs] lease payments.

Marques Brownlee 12:07 Which would've been amazing.

Andrew Manganelli 12:09 Wow.

Marques Brownlee 12:09 That would've been so funny.

David Imel 12:10 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 12:11 It's such a bad thing to do.

David Imel 12:12 Would it? Would it?

Marques Brownlee 12:12 But it would've been, it would've been terrible, but it would've been so funny.

David Imel 12:15 Well, a lot of people reached out to Apple about this, and Apple confirmed that they're not going to stop your phone from having all its functionality if you don't pay its leasing fee.

Andrew Manganelli 12:23 Just most of it.

David Imel 12:24 They'll, yeah, they'll just-

Marques Brownlee 12:25 But like what-

David Imel 12:25 ... show up to your house and take your phone away from you like-

Marques Brownlee 12:27 I haven't scrolled the fine print, but what does happen if you miss your payments?

David Imel 12:31 Um-

Speaker 12:31 Probably just charges you the full price of whatever it is

David Imel 12:33 ... yeah, probably just, yeah, something like that.

Speaker 12:35 Which I was gonna say, I disagree. I think you should lease the iPad only. I think that makes complete sense for students.

Marques Brownlee 12:42 Does the Mac not make sense for that?

David Imel 12:44 I think a Mac makes the most sense.

Speaker 12:45 When I... I mean, I haven't been in school in quite some time, but when I was in college, a lot of the things that I needed to do was able to be done on an iPad.

David Imel 12:54 Able to be done, and like want to do, or easier to do, or different?

Speaker 12:56 So specifically, I had chemistry homework that I had to do where it kept crashing in the browser on my computer, but I was able to submit on an iPad.

Marques Brownlee 13:04 That's incredibly specific.

Speaker 13:05 Very specific.

David Imel 13:06 This is also like 1995, so.

Speaker 13:08 Yeah, it was like way back in the day.

David Imel 13:09 I, I picture a lot of people who would ordinarily have been trying to save up and decide, oh, can I spend $700 on an iPad and get it done, or should I just try to spend more and get a Mac? Now, the Mac is more accessible via leasing, and hey-

Speaker 13:22 Yeah

David Imel 13:22 ... student, students are essentially financed anyway [laughs] so-

Speaker 13:25 Like if I'm, if I had like-

David Imel 13:26 ... just add an iPad

Speaker 13:27 ... a semester or two where I'm just using the iPad, I'll just lease it, and then use-

David Imel 13:31 For an iPad?

Speaker 13:32 Give it back. Screw it, it's cheaper than buying it.

David Imel 13:35 Yeah, I think, I think the-

Marques Brownlee 13:36 Adam

David Imel 13:36 ... I think this is a way for people who were maybe going to try to stretch for an iPad to just get the Mac-

Marques Brownlee 13:43 Is it cheaper?

David Imel 13:43 ... 'cause it's cheaper.

Marques Brownlee 13:44 Yeah.

David Imel 13:44 I mean, all, Apple's all about getting the Mac into as many hands as po- I mean, all their stuff, but getting a Mac into young people's hands-

Marques Brownlee 13:49 Yeah

David Imel 13:49 ... the way the Neo is-

Marques Brownlee 13:51 Yeah

David Imel 13:51 ... I think this gets it into way more students' hands, so.

Marques Brownlee 13:53 Adam, it's $288 for the, for a 24-month, uh, lease.

Speaker 13:59 That's two years, right?

Marques Brownlee 14:00 Yeah.

Speaker 14:01 $12 a month.

David Imel 14:02 You can't, you can't only do it for one semester. You have to lease it for-

Speaker 14:06 No, no, no

David Imel 14:06 ... 24 or 36 months.

Marques Brownlee 14:08 Mm.

Speaker 14:08 Oh, okay. So it needs to be two years.

David Imel 14:10 It's $12 a month, and the minimum is two years.

Speaker 14:11 Mm.

David Imel 14:12 So $288 to lease the-

Speaker 14:14 Yeah, I'd rather just buy

David Imel 14:15 ... iPad Air.

Speaker 14:15 But if you can't, there it is, $12.

David Imel 14:18 I- look, I could kind of see this for the Mac. I could kind of see this for a Mac.

Marques Brownlee 14:22 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 14:23 But for any other device really, just like buy a much older thing. 'Cause computers are expensive basically no matter what.

Marques Brownlee 14:30 Yeah.

David Imel 14:30 So I kind of understand it for a com- a laptop. But for a phone, you could buy an, you can buy a three-year-old iPhone and it's still gonna be really good, still gonna have software support for another four years. You can be that, buy that for $300 or less. The, the, the Mac to me is the only thing that really makes sense.

Marques Brownlee 14:46 Yeah, the 14-inch MacBook Pro, which is a very expensive computer, becomes $39 a month for the 36-month lease.

David Imel 14:53 $39 a month, that's very accessible.

Andrew Manganelli 14:55 This is the most American thing possible.

Marques Brownlee 14:57 It is.

Speaker 14:57 Don't worry, it's only-

David Imel 14:59 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 14:59 [laughs]

Speaker 14:59 That's like when, uh, car salesmen are like, "What are you looking to get out of here at?" "Oh, like 25,000." "No, no, no, like monthly payment."

David Imel 15:05 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 15:05 Yeah.

Speaker 15:05 It's like that doesn't seem shady at all. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 15:07 Like cars, a p- a living spaces is always a f- the, the debate is buy versus lease-

Andrew Manganelli 15:13 Mm

Marques Brownlee 15:13 ... or rent or whatever you want to call it. So yeah.

David Imel 15:16 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 15:16 This is America.

David Imel 15:17 This is America.

Andrew Manganelli 15:18 [laughs]

David Imel 15:18 It's through Klarna, it's through Klarna. I, I recommend not doing this, but if you have to, I understand.

Speaker 15:23 Unless you're getting a cocktail. Klarna your cocktails.

David Imel 15:26 Oh yeah, true, true, true.

Andrew Manganelli 15:26 [laughs]

David Imel 15:27 Finally paid off my mojito.

Andrew Manganelli 15:28 [laughs]

David Imel 15:29 70 cents a month. [laughs] Um, speaking of computers,

15:34 – 22:18

Framework laptop

David Imel 15:34 Marques, you've been reviewing the Framework laptop.

Marques Brownlee 15:36 Speaking of computers, yeah. Uh, so video viewers have seen this already, but I have the Framework laptop 13 pro in front of me. Uh, I reviewed it. I did the video. You guys can check that out. I just figured I would highlight that it's pretty great.

Andrew Manganelli 15:49 Can I see it?

Marques Brownlee 15:49 Uh, yeah, you can. A lot of what people have been-

Andrew Manganelli 15:51 I haven't pulled it up yet

Marques Brownlee 15:51 ... talking about is the new build quality and the new display-

Andrew Manganelli 15:53 Nice build quality

Marques Brownlee 15:54 ... 'cause those are the biggest new upgrades for what this is. But Framework's been around for a while now, and they are very committed to this upgradable/modular idea, and the motherboard in this computer can be purchased for an older Framework 13, like a 2021-

David Imel 16:10 Whoa

Marques Brownlee 16:10 ... five-year-old Framework 13, and that will give it the faster IO, the faster SSD speeds, faster RAM, and all that stuff.

David Imel 16:16 Wow.

Marques Brownlee 16:17 So they are... If you... Basically my conclusion for the review is, I mean, this is still a, kind of an expensive computer.

David Imel 16:24 Yeah, it's $3,100.

Marques Brownlee 16:25 1,600 up to like over $3,000.

David Imel 16:27 Yeah, for the max.

Marques Brownlee 16:28 So my conclusion was the day that you buy it is the day that it will feel the least worth it.

David Imel 16:34 Right.

Marques Brownlee 16:34 Day zero, it feels the least worth it. But the longer you have it, the more it can feel like it is worth it.

David Imel 16:41 'Cause you can upgrade it.

Marques Brownlee 16:42 Because you can upgrade it. So like a MacBook Pro for the same price is, is a better computer-

David Imel 16:47 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 16:47 ... I would say, is pretty agreeable. But in two years when the MacBook Pro is starting to get old, or maybe you wish you had more RAM, or you wanted to change [laughs] from a USB-C port to an HDMI port-

David Imel 16:57 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 16:57 ... whatever, you can actually do that on this computer, or maybe you break part of it or spill it on part of it, and you wanna just replace a little piece of it.

David Imel 17:03 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 17:03 That is what makes it feel worth it, and that's why Framework exists.

David Imel 17:07 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 17:07 So this is pretty special for just that ability.

David Imel 17:09 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 17:10 And it's pretty solid.

David Imel 17:11 I think that makes sense. Like, we talk a lot about the integrated chips on like the MacBooks, and if you decided you wanted more RAM because you wanted to like run a local LLM model or something, you just can't do that with these computers. Like, you can't upgrade them at all. They're just like-

Andrew Manganelli 17:25 I'm still getting a pop-up that says I can.

David Imel 17:27 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 17:27 To download more RAM. [laughs]

David Imel 17:29 You can just download more RAM? Uh, yeah, it's like the, the model you buy, and these, these are not cheap computers, especially anymore either after Apple raised their prices. You can't just get more RAM on this thing.

Marques Brownlee 17:37 Yeah.

David Imel 17:38 So it's pretty, it's pretty cool if you're able to actually just upgrade the RAM in your laptop.

Marques Brownlee 17:42 Yep.

David Imel 17:42 I think that's great.

Andrew Manganelli 17:42 It feels great.

David Imel 17:43 Bigger storage.

Andrew Manganelli 17:44 Build quality is fantastic.

David Imel 17:45 Feels, feels really good.

Andrew Manganelli 17:46 Yeah. I actually love the, like-

David Imel 17:47 He's-

Andrew Manganelli 17:47 ... clear, uh, like bezel around it-

David Imel 17:50 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 17:50 ... and getting to see some of the internals.

David Imel 17:52 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 17:52 The, whatever the, uh, [laughs] auto brightness on there is-

David Imel 17:55 Yeah, it's weird. It's staggering

Andrew Manganelli 17:57 ... it's really stagger-y, and it's-

David Imel 17:58 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 17:58 ... very-

David Imel 17:59 You can see it adjusting

Andrew Manganelli 18:00 ... active, not in a good way, but-

David Imel 18:01 Yeah, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 18:02 ... orange buttons.

David Imel 18:03 The orange buttons are-

Andrew Manganelli 18:04 Typing experience felt really nice, yeah.

David Imel 18:06 It's, it's 80% of a MacBook Pro in a lot of ways, and way more modular obviously.

Andrew Manganelli 18:12 Yeah.

David Imel 18:12 So that's what I kept saying in the video. Um-

Marques Brownlee 18:13 And running Linux on it.

David Imel 18:14 And it's Linux, yeah, and I'm running Fire- I have Firefox today.

Marques Brownlee 18:17 Good on you.

David Imel 18:17 I think you'd be happy about that.

Marques Brownlee 18:18 Look at you.

David Imel 18:19 I'm running Firefox on it.

Marques Brownlee 18:19 We did it, boys.

David Imel 18:20 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 18:21 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 18:21 That's it. Never ask again.

David Imel 18:22 Firefox invited me to a soccer game, and I didn't go.

Marques Brownlee 18:25 Yeah.

David Imel 18:25 I think-

Marques Brownlee 18:25 Hey, Firefox-

David Imel 18:26 ... it was like a World Cup

Marques Brownlee 18:26 ... who's your real pal here?

Andrew Manganelli 18:27 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 18:28 Who's, who's been using you for years? Who-

David Imel 18:30 Hey. Okay.

Marques Brownlee 18:31 Hey.

David Imel 18:32 But they're trying to court me 'cause I'm the browser guy, you know?

Marques Brownlee 18:34 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 18:34 I know. Trust me.

David Imel 18:35 They have to court you.

Andrew Manganelli 18:35 They should be courting David.

David Imel 18:36 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 18:37 He's the right person to court.

David Imel 18:38 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 18:38 I'm just saying, you could have just sent me an email-

David Imel 18:40 It's like, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 18:40 ... and then if I said yes, been like, "Oh, sorry, we're f- we're booked up," but-

David Imel 18:43 Yeah. They're like, "Andrew Manganelli got that."

Andrew Manganelli 18:45 Should be acknowledging-

Marques Brownlee 18:45 They follow me on Instagram.

David Imel 18:46 That's true. Why, what do they need to do for you? You already use it.

Andrew Manganelli 18:48 Yeah, I know. [laughs]

David Imel 18:49 They don't need to gain you as a user. Yeah. By the way, I have three browsers on my dock right now-

Speaker 18:54 That's insane

David Imel 18:55 ... 'cause Arc has been crashing a lot.

Speaker 18:57 What?

Andrew Manganelli 18:57 Never saw that coming.

Speaker 18:58 No way.

David Imel 18:59 Hey, on the Golden Gate-

Andrew Manganelli 19:00 Not sunsetting.

Speaker 19:01 That's really not sunsetting.

David Imel 19:01 On the Golden Gate beta.

Speaker 19:03 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 19:03 Okay. Dia is getting close to Arc. Like, they are just kind of turning Dia into Arc. Like, they're adding almost all the same features.

Speaker 19:10 It's like color OS versus, uh-

Andrew Manganelli 19:12 Their stock is just-

David Imel 19:13 Reason to, yeah

Speaker 19:13 ... OS, yeah.

David Imel 19:14 I need them to speed that up.

Speaker 19:15 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 19:15 But it's so funny. It's like, hey, your new product is almost as good as your old product [laughs] that you killed.

David Imel 19:21 I ... Dude, don't even. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 19:22 I-

David Imel 19:22 Don't get me started

Andrew Manganelli 19:23 ... du- dumbest company alive.

David Imel 19:24 Yeah. It's ... The, there's still some things that Arc does way better that they haven't added yet.

Speaker 19:28 Yeah.

David Imel 19:29 Like, they have tabs that are pinned tabs, but they're not in your, like, little tab group bar at the top. They don't have that in Dia. They're just ... Yeah, there's th- there's things that they need to upgrade. But I've been trying some other browsers.

Speaker 19:40 Ooh.

David Imel 19:40 He- Helium browser is actually pretty good. It's an, it's sort of an Arc clone. Uh, the developer is very active and very, like, they're all over the internet. You can talk to them.

Speaker 19:49 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 19:50 Um, and it looks really similar to Arc, but it does a few things a little bit differently. It still doesn't have, like, tab pinning separate from the, like, pinned task bar thing at the top.

Speaker 20:01 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 20:01 And you can't change the size of it. And it's, it's funny how many small things annoy me about being 90% what Arc does, but not quite there, in every browser.

Speaker 20:12 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 20:12 And I keep going back to making Arc my default, and then it keeps crashing over and over again. It just crashes.

Speaker 20:19 That's a bummer.

David Imel 20:20 So-

Speaker 20:20 Just use Chrome. You have a ton of RAM.

David Imel 20:22 Wrong.

Speaker 20:23 Why not use it?

David Imel 20:23 I do not have that much RAM.

Andrew Manganelli 20:24 [laughs]

David Imel 20:25 And Chrome would take it all. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 20:27 [laughs]

David Imel 20:27 Um, yeah, so Helium, Helium's getting there. I'm, I'm having a good time. It's very funny when I tweet about browsers now. People ... Like, I f- I swear to God, there are, like, 25 different browser projects that everyone's like, "Just use this, just use this."

Speaker 20:40 Mm.

David Imel 20:40 It's like, just use WhatsApp, e- except that there were 25 messaging apps that everybody used, which is, like, great.

Speaker 20:45 But just like, it's annoying, but it's kind of nice. It's kind of nice that there's a bunch of ... It's actually-

David Imel 20:49 It's cool. I like it

Speaker 20:49 ... a bunch of competing-

David Imel 20:51 Yeah

Speaker 20:51 ... viable, like, all pushing to make each other better, adding interesting features here and there.

David Imel 20:55 Yeah.

Speaker 20:55 Like, that's, it's kind of interesting.

David Imel 20:57 It's interesting.

Speaker 20:57 Yeah.

David Imel 20:57 I'm liking it, so.

Speaker 20:58 Marques, I had a question for you about using this laptop.

David Imel 21:01 Yeah.

Speaker 21:01 It's running Ubuntu, right?

David Imel 21:02 Yep.

Speaker 21:03 Did you-

Andrew Manganelli 21:03 Is that how you pronounce it?

Speaker 21:04 I don't know.

Andrew Manganelli 21:05 Oh.

David Imel 21:05 [laughs] Ubuntu.

Andrew Manganelli 21:05 I'm just actually curious if that's how you pronounce it.

David Imel 21:07 It's running Linux.

Speaker 21:07 Abunta.

David Imel 21:08 Yeah.

Speaker 21:08 Abunta. Um, when it came in the box, did it already have it installed?

David Imel 21:13 Yeah, so this is a prebuilt. So you can choose between a DIY-

Speaker 21:17 Yeah

David Imel 21:17 ... version of the Framework or a prebuilt version. So this is one of the prebuilt s- configurations you can buy, and you can choose Linux out the box, and it came with that installed, yeah.

Speaker 21:26 So you can put any other Linux distro on this as well?

David Imel 21:29 You can.

Speaker 21:30 Okay.

David Imel 21:30 Yeah.

Speaker 21:30 That's what I wanted to know.

David Imel 21:31 Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 21:31 That's cool.

David Imel 21:32 Yeah. Or Windows if you really want.

Andrew Manganelli 21:33 Oh.

Speaker 21:34 Cool.

David Imel 21:34 No.

Speaker 21:34 Wait, what? Mm-mm.

David Imel 21:35 I guess if you wanna play games.

Andrew Manganelli 21:37 It's pronounced Ubuntu.

David Imel 21:39 Well, we knew that.

Andrew Manganelli 21:40 I didn't.

David Imel 21:41 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 21:41 Isn't that what I said? [laughs]

David Imel 21:42 I think I said Ubuntu in the video.

Speaker 21:44 Abuna.

David Imel 21:44 I, I s-

Andrew Manganelli 21:45 Abuna. [laughs]

David Imel 21:46 It's one of those, it's one of those words that I don't say out loud very often. I've typed it many times-

Speaker 21:49 Yeah

David Imel 21:49 ... but Ubuntu.

Speaker 21:50 Same. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 21:50 It's one of those words that I'm like, I don't think I've ever said it out loud, and now I'm too scared to.

David Imel 21:54 Yeah. Yeah. Well, I gotta live by it now.

Andrew Manganelli 21:56 Oh, man.

David Imel 21:56 Ubuntu. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 21:57 Sorry.

David Imel 21:58 But, like, the Framework parts that you can buy individually-

Andrew Manganelli 22:00 I know

David Imel 22:00 ... are dope.

Andrew Manganelli 22:01 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 22:01 Right?

Andrew Manganelli 22:01 The or- clear orange is so good.

David Imel 22:03 Yeah. There was a lot of people talking about this bezel, like, oh, they don't like the clear bezel. You can just get a black bezel.

Andrew Manganelli 22:08 You're wrong.

David Imel 22:08 You can also get a different colored bezel if you want. So yeah.

Speaker 22:12 Yeah, this thing looks sick, and the fact that it runs Linux makes it actually a viable option.

David Imel 22:17 Yeah.

22:18 – 29:44

Volvo discontinuing LiDAR

David Imel 22:18 It's nice.

Andrew Manganelli 22:18 I just saw something really quick, that Volvo is discontinuing LiDAR sensors on their cars.

David Imel 22:22 Mm-hmm.

Andrew Manganelli 22:22 This seems to be because they're discontinuing their relationship with Luminar Technologies-

David Imel 22:26 Yep

Andrew Manganelli 22:26 ... the company that makes them. It's a little confusing because it's, they're claiming the company's products are, uh ... That there's a l- they're trying to limit the supply chain risk exposure as a direct result of Luminar's failure to meet its contractual obligations. So I can't tell how much of this is, like, Luminar is having some issues, therefore their supplier of LiDAR, therefore let's just ditch it altogether, which feels like kind of a cop-out from Volvo in itself. Um, but they're claiming that the company's product can deliver a high level of safety and driver support enabled by the car's powerful core computer coupled with their advanced sensor set with or without a LiDAR, which, I don't know, I hate this let's keep taking LiDAR out of ... Let's keep taking more sensors to make people safe out of cars, but, um-

David Imel 23:12 Yeah, the statement is kind of like a, "Well, we couldn't get LiDAR in there, but we're gonna try to keep making our self-driving software good."

Andrew Manganelli 23:19 Yeah, but also-

David Imel 23:20 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 23:20 ... so then the f- kind of funny part is they're looking to compensate customers who already purchased the car with the LiDAR in it-

David Imel 23:26 Mm-hmm

Andrew Manganelli 23:26 ... because there still are some ... Sorry.

David Imel 23:28 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 23:28 This is for the EX90 and ES90.

David Imel 23:32 Mm-hmm.

Andrew Manganelli 23:32 The ones with those, like, uh-

David Imel 23:33 Little box on the top

Andrew Manganelli 23:34 ... yeah, almost looks like a hood scoop on the top for the LiDAR system. Um, they're saying that the LiDAR unit is approximately $1,500 to the MSRP price, and they're [laughs] ... Sorry. These are their three options instead of just, "Here's $1,500 back."

David Imel 23:48 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 23:48 You can either have a complimentary three-year subscription to SiriusXM and a 500 credit towards Volvo Cars app. The fact that they keep using complimentary is hilarious because you've paid the money already.

David Imel 24:00 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 24:00 I don't think this is complimentary. Um, two-year complimentary Volvo Protection Plan or a two-year, 24,000 mile complimentary Volvo Car Select package that covers some of the replacement parts like brakes, windshield wipers, like typical-

David Imel 24:13 Meal voucher

Andrew Manganelli 24:13 ... yeah, yeah.

David Imel 24:14 It's a meal voucher for an airline missing your flight.

Andrew Manganelli 24:16 This is a pretty rough-

David Imel 24:17 It's just

Andrew Manganelli 24:17 ... meal vou- voucher. Yeah, yeah.

David Imel 24:19 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 24:19 Um, so that sucks, and I hate that we're taking more safety measures out of cars.

Speaker 24:26 W- w- wait.

David Imel 24:26 Yeah.

Speaker 24:26 Is this $500 credit to the Volvo Cars app?

Andrew Manganelli 24:30 I don't know what the Volvo app-

David Imel 24:30 Well, no, no, it's three-year subscription to SiriusXM-

Andrew Manganelli 24:33 Mm-hmm

David Imel 24:33 ... and the 500.

Andrew Manganelli 24:34 Right. Right.

David Imel 24:34 That's in the same one.

Speaker 24:35 Sure, but, uh, what? Like-

David Imel 24:36 What's the Volvo Cars app?

Andrew Manganelli 24:37 My guess is Volvo Cars app is, like, the thing that lets you remote st- like, right now s-

Speaker 24:42 No, no, no. I, I get it.

Andrew Manganelli 24:43 Oh.

Speaker 24:44 So, like, what do you spend money on in this?

Andrew Manganelli 24:46 Well, yeah, yeah. So, like, m- my Subaru right now has an app-

Speaker 24:49 Mm

Andrew Manganelli 24:49 ... and it's essentially a subscription service for doing remote start-

David Imel 24:53 Gotcha

Andrew Manganelli 24:53 ... a couple different onli-

Speaker 24:54 You're kidding.

Andrew Manganelli 24:54 Yep. It sucks.

Speaker 24:55 It's a subscription service?

Andrew Manganelli 24:56 It's the worst.

David Imel 24:56 That's insane.

Andrew Manganelli 24:56 You usually get them for free for, like, a couple years, and then you have to pay the subscription, and it's great 'cause they hook you on that, and you've heated your car up. Especially with kids now, heating and cooling the car is so important that-

David Imel 25:06 That is insane

Andrew Manganelli 25:07 ... I pay a stupid ... amount of money, which is in that sense, any amount of money is stupid-

Marques Brownlee 25:13 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 25:13 ... 'cause it's all there. It's literally just, the app is horrible. All it can do is be like turn the heat on, turn the air on-

Marques Brownlee 25:20 Mm-hmm

Andrew Manganelli 25:20 ... honk the lights, or, like, unlock the doors. But yeah, stupid. So my guess is $500 towards some stupid stuff like that.

Marques Brownlee 25:28 Towards the subscription.

Andrew Manganelli 25:29 Yeah, towards whatever the subscription would be.

Marques Brownlee 25:31 Wow. That is crazy.

Speaker 25:33 Capitalism.

Marques Brownlee 25:34 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 25:35 Yeah.

Speaker 25:36 Woo.

Marques Brownlee 25:36 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 25:36 Stupid. Um-

Marques Brownlee 25:38 We just, we just got finished talking about how Apple's gonna let you rent essentially your devices.

Speaker 25:43 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 25:43 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 25:43 It's, it's a theme.

Speaker 25:45 It's a theme.

Andrew Manganelli 25:45 Do we think these cars are gonna get marked down, or are they just going to come with the-

Marques Brownlee 25:49 [laughs] They might get marked down by-

Andrew Manganelli 25:51 ... here's Siri, here's SiriusXM. That's the-

Marques Brownlee 25:53 ... $1,000.

Andrew Manganelli 25:53 Everyone's dying for SiriusXM, by the way. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 25:56 Uh, SiriusXM's one of those things I've literally never used in my life, but every single car reviewer always seems to mention, not even the reviewers-

Andrew Manganelli 26:02 Really?

Marques Brownlee 26:02 ... every car company always seems to mention that, "Oh, and this car has SiriusXM." As if, it's like, ugh, and this is maybe I should care more, but it's like Dolby Atmos. When I hear a speaker system in a laptop or a phone has Dolby Atmos, I literally do not care.

Speaker 26:15 It doesn't mean anything.

Marques Brownlee 26:16 It doesn't mean a single thing to me.

Speaker 26:17 Yeah, yeah.

Marques Brownlee 26:17 This Framework laptop has Dolby Atmos. These speakers suck.

Speaker 26:21 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 26:21 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 26:22 So I'm not, I don't care that it has SiriusXM.

Speaker 26:25 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 26:25 They always talk about it.

Speaker 26:26 Really?

Marques Brownlee 26:26 It always gets thrown in like it's a very important thing, but I, I don't care. But it's a, it's a subscription, so.

Andrew Manganelli 26:32 SiriusXM is more annoying because-

Marques Brownlee 26:34 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 26:34 ... so many cars they're in, they put it as like the default media thing when you turn your car on, and then when you don't pay for it, it's just like, "SiriusXM,"

Marques Brownlee 26:41 Oh

Andrew Manganelli 26:41 ... "blah, blah, blah." It's just like an ad that runs on your car-

Marques Brownlee 26:44 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 26:44 ... if you leave it at that.

Marques Brownlee 26:45 It's, I, I'm never using it.

Andrew Manganelli 26:47 It's awful.

Marques Brownlee 26:47 Anyway. Yeah.

Speaker 26:49 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 26:49 Yeah, so maybe they'll make it 1,500 bucks less for the car. Who knows? They're still gonna try to make all their stuff work.

Andrew Manganelli 26:54 They won't. No shot.

Marques Brownlee 26:55 No shot.

Andrew Manganelli 26:55 Same price.

Marques Brownlee 26:56 That's crazy. By the way, the EX90 is still a great car. I just, if you, it's one of those, like, undelivered promise things, where if you paid extra to have all this software work and it still doesn't, that's the bummer, but the rest of the car is pretty good.

Andrew Manganelli 27:08 I think that's why I'm even more mad about it.

Marques Brownlee 27:10 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 27:10 It's like, I kinda, like, I'm thinking of an R2 eventually, but the Volvos were kinda sick.

Marques Brownlee 27:16 It's pretty nice. Speakers are included.

Speaker 27:17 Well, you didn't, I thought you ordered an R2.

Andrew Manganelli 27:19 Does it have Dol- Dolby Atmos? I have a reservation for it. I think it comes in in January, but I probably won't buy it.

Speaker 27:24 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 27:24 No, I'll probably run my Forester into the ground first, and then-

Marques Brownlee 27:26 Yeah, you should

Speaker 27:26 ... that makes sense.

Marques Brownlee 27:27 Is the EX90 Dolby Atmos? I have no idea.

Speaker 27:29 I, I think it is.

Marques Brownlee 27:30 But the speakers-

Andrew Manganelli 27:31 Am I in it?

Marques Brownlee 27:31 ... in that car are excellent.

Andrew Manganelli 27:32 Samsung.

Speaker 27:33 They-

Andrew Manganelli 27:33 Oh.

Speaker 27:33 I'm, I'm, I'm almost positive it is, just because there was-

Marques Brownlee 27:36 Might as well be

Speaker 27:37 ... I went to a specific, some Volvo had Dolby Atmos, and I feel like it has to be that one.

Marques Brownlee 27:42 Interesting.

Speaker 27:42 I'm on the Volvo app, uh, website.

Marques Brownlee 27:44 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 27:45 One of the features that they list very proudly just says Google Maps.

Andrew Manganelli 27:50 That's actually why I've, actually, now that I think about it, that's why I like, Volvo has Android Automotive.

Speaker 27:56 Mm.

Andrew Manganelli 27:56 So it has, like, Android Auto as its default system, which I think is actually a huge selling point, because Rivian, you can't use Android Auto.

Speaker 28:04 Totally, but when you click on Learn More, it explains, "Use Google Maps built in instead of on your car's center display." Meaning use it on your phone-

Marques Brownlee 28:12 Oh

Speaker 28:12 ... but inside the Volvo app instead of the Google Maps app.

Marques Brownlee 28:15 What? It's, yeah, it's like kinda how you can-

Andrew Manganelli 28:18 What? That-

Marques Brownlee 28:18 Like, in the Tesla app, you can send a destination to the car's GPS.

Andrew Manganelli 28:23 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 28:24 I don't know why you wouldn't wanna just type it in in a car, but allegedly you can sometimes put in a destination before getting into the car, so that when you get into the car, it's already telling you where to go.

Speaker 28:33 Right. Right, right, right.

Andrew Manganelli 28:34 Oh.

Speaker 28:34 I would take $500 worth of that.

Marques Brownlee 28:37 [laughs] You know?

Andrew Manganelli 28:37 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 28:38 Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's a thing some people do.

Speaker 28:41 Random question.

Marques Brownlee 28:42 Yeah.

Speaker 28:42 The Slate Truck.

Marques Brownlee 28:43 Slate Truck.

Speaker 28:44 Does it have, uh, these, like, software things, like remote start?

Marques Brownlee 28:48 [laughs]

Speaker 28:48 Have they mentioned any of this?

Marques Brownlee 28:49 When you started with, "Does it have?" I was just gonna say-

Andrew Manganelli 28:51 [laughs]

Speaker 28:52 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 28:52 ... I was just gonna say no. [laughs] Right from the start. Um, does it have remote start? I don't think so.

Speaker 28:57 Or, like, turn on AC or something?

Marques Brownlee 29:00 So I didn't-

Andrew Manganelli 29:00 Turn on AC

Marques Brownlee 29:00 ... I didn't get told about any sort of app for the Slate Truck.

Speaker 29:02 Yeah, that's what I was wondering.

Marques Brownlee 29:03 So I, I imagine there is no remote connectivity for it. I would be surprised if there is much more than any sort of basic, like, heat it up, turn it on type thing.

Speaker 29:12 Mm. Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 29:12 And the Slate Truck would be fine charging for it, because their entire premise is anything extra is pay for it.

Marques Brownlee 29:18 Right.

Andrew Manganelli 29:18 I hate these cars that are like, "This is just, it's here already. We have the app. You even get it for free. Now pay me."

Marques Brownlee 29:27 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 29:27 Especially when mine went, got, went dark in, like, January. It was like zero degrees outside, and it's like, "I know you wanna warm that car up." [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 29:35 That's-

Speaker 29:35 Oh my God

Marques Brownlee 29:36 ... that's crazy.

Andrew Manganelli 29:37 [laughs] Come here.

Speaker 29:37 Oh my God, Alex.

Andrew Manganelli 29:38 That was just because of when I bought the car was in January, so it happened to be three years, but it was very fun.

Marques Brownlee 29:43 Unbelievably

29:44 – 32:53

Playstation Blackout

Marques Brownlee 29:44 anti-consumer. I hate that.

Andrew Manganelli 29:45 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 29:45 Okay, someone needs to tell me this, about this PlayStation blackout situation.

Andrew Manganelli 29:47 I'm going, I'll go pretty quick on this.

Marques Brownlee 29:49 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 29:49 Remember we talked about Sony killing off physical game discs?

Marques Brownlee 29:52 Yeah. Yep.

Andrew Manganelli 29:52 So there's a little protest planned out for people to go dark, essentially, on PlayStation to-

Marques Brownlee 30:00 What does it mean?

Andrew Manganelli 30:00 ... protest this.

Speaker 30:01 Oh, wow.

Andrew Manganelli 30:01 They're saying, "Do not log in, play games, or make any purchases from August 23rd to August 30th to help get the point across." The pessimist in me is like-

Marques Brownlee 30:10 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 30:10 ... I'm so happy everyone is doing this, and this is terrible, but Sony, if Sony made this decision already, I, I unfortunately don't think they're gonna change it-

Marques Brownlee 30:19 Don't use your products

Andrew Manganelli 30:20 ... at all.

Marques Brownlee 30:21 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 30:21 Um-

Marques Brownlee 30:21 It just doesn't-

Speaker 30:21 I don't-

Andrew Manganelli 30:22 It's-

Speaker 30:23 Listen-

Andrew Manganelli 30:23 I-

Speaker 30:23 ... if you don't give them money, they'll hear.

Marques Brownlee 30:25 [sighs] We tried.

Speaker 30:26 For one week.

Marques Brownlee 30:27 And then we'll start giving them money again.

Speaker 30:28 You know how much money-

Marques Brownlee 30:28 That's the hardest part

Speaker 30:29 ... they'll lose in a week?

Marques Brownlee 30:30 You know how much money they'll make back the next week when you go buy a bunch of stuff? [laughs]

Speaker 30:33 No, no.

Andrew Manganelli 30:33 I think, I think if they lost all of their money in a week, they would probably be making it back on the margins of not printing all the games discs that they're going to.

Marques Brownlee 30:41 Yeah.

Speaker 30:42 I don't think it's that expensive.

Marques Brownlee 30:42 I do agree with, I agree with hit them where it hurts, in the wallet, but-

Andrew Manganelli 30:46 Yes

Marques Brownlee 30:46 ... um, and obviously making a statement with a whole bunch of people joining this is, is a good idea, and makes a statement to the company, who has for sure heard the message by now.

Andrew Manganelli 30:56 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 30:56 Um, but yeah, I agree. I don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 30:58 How much money do they even make in a week? Can't be that much.

Marques Brownlee 31:02 From buying games on the PlayStation Store?

Speaker 31:05 Yeah, but like-

Marques Brownlee 31:05 Each game is like 80 bucks now.

Speaker 31:07 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 31:08 I mean, I'm sure it's a lot.

Speaker 31:09 I mean, it's, they're gonna, they're gonna buy the game. They're just deferring. They're gonna buy the game anyway.

Marques Brownlee 31:13 Exactly.

Andrew Manganelli 31:13 We'll see.

Marques Brownlee 31:13 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 31:13 Maybe people will forget

David Imel 31:15 They'll, or they'll have-

Andrew Manganelli 31:15 I mean, I hope

David Imel 31:16 ... 51 weeks of revenue this year instead of 52.

Andrew Manganelli 31:18 Yeah.

David Imel 31:18 No, I, I think what's gonna happen is that one week will go down by 1% and then- Yeah ... the next week will go up by 2%. Exactly, yeah. It sucks.

Andrew Manganelli 31:25 [laughs] I, I, I mean, I can't, I mean, or I should say I am doing it because I don't own a PlayStation [laughs] so I will not be playing-

David Imel 31:30 Yeah, I will, I will participate in this blackout. You know what? So am I.

Andrew Manganelli 31:34 I do think if you feel really strongly about this, you should do it. I think unfortunately-

David Imel 31:38 I think it should be a month

Andrew Manganelli 31:38 ... there's also gonna be so many other people that are never going to see this, that are just kids playing PlayStation and buying V-Bucks and never see it.

David Imel 31:46 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 31:46 Um-

David Imel 31:46 It should be August 23rd to September 23rd. Make it a month and then they'll listen.

Andrew Manganelli 31:50 Dude, I, the reason I also brought this up is 'cause we also then just had an Xbox outage where, like, for a v- a whole day, I think, there were tons of users who were not able to log in, see their game library, or play any games in their game library.

David Imel 32:04 Oh, boy

Andrew Manganelli 32:04 ... which is just more proof that this digital age of-

David Imel 32:07 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 32:07 ... all of this is, like, you don't really own these games. They can kind of do whatever with it.

David Imel 32:11 I've also, like, I've seen a lot of people in, like, Africa who are like, "Our internet is so bad, but I have game discs and I am able to play games-

Andrew Manganelli 32:20 Mm-hmm

David Imel 32:20 ... my internet is terrible."

Andrew Manganelli 32:21 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 32:21 And so, you know, if y- if everything is, like, online only, come on.

Andrew Manganelli 32:26 Yeah. It's-

David Imel 32:27 It's just terrible. It's just terrible.

Andrew Manganelli 32:28 It is really. Or there are, there are other countries, and I'm sure there's even some scenarios in our country, where the way you purchase internet is bandwidth based.

David Imel 32:36 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 32:36 So, like, downloading the game could kill your bandwidth for, like, a month. I remember people used to send us videos of being like, "I love Waveform, I love MKBHD, but I watch everything in 480p because I only have so much bandwidth for the month.

David Imel 32:49 Mm.

Andrew Manganelli 32:49 That's the only way I can watch this stuff."

David Imel 32:51 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 32:52 Um, so-

David Imel 32:52 Metered

32:53 – 38:07

Old guys being old

David Imel 32:53 stuff is crazy, dude

Andrew Manganelli 32:53 ... metered stuff. I also brought it up-

David Imel 32:55 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 32:55 ... 'cause I recently discovered this YouTube channel about, it's called Retro Jake's Video Games, and it's just a store that, like, buys, sells, and trades old video games, and it's so much fun to watch people get, like, super amped because they found, like, Simpsons Wrestling on the PlayStation. And, like, seeing all these people trading in and, like, buying old games for their childhood or parents buying kids their, a Nintendo Wii 'cause they never got to experience-

David Imel 33:21 Oh, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 33:21 ... Wii Sports is like-

David Imel 33:23 Oh, yeah. Wii Sports. Everyone should experience Wii Sports.

Andrew Manganelli 33:24 Yeah, like, watching that in the sense of, like, wow, every game from now until whatever-

David Imel 33:29 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 33:31 ... my grandkids will never play because there will be-

David Imel 33:33 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 33:33 ... zero evidence of the game ever existing-

David Imel 33:36 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 33:36 ... sucks.

David Imel 33:37 I was only able to convince my mom to allow me to use my own money to purchase a Wii because Wii Fit came out.

Andrew Manganelli 33:44 Oh.

David Imel 33:44 And I told her that it would make me exercise. Mm. It did not make me exercise.

Andrew Manganelli 33:48 Mom, I'ma get buff.

David Imel 33:49 I just played-

Andrew Manganelli 33:50 Get me the Wii. [laughs]

David Imel 33:51 I just played Wii Music, and on Wii Music you literally just hit the buttons a couple of times and you're playing clarinet. It's not, I mean- Yeah. The cool thing was if you used the Wii Fit, uh, like, pad thing, you could play, you could play the drum kit.

Andrew Manganelli 34:05 Oh, that is pretty awesome.

David Imel 34:05 Because you could use both sides as, like, the kick drum and the, and the hi-hat. That's pretty sick. It was actually pretty sick. Yeah, I liked it. Damn.

Andrew Manganelli 34:12 I'm imagining the, like-

David Imel 34:13 The Wii was legendary. So legendary. Yeah. Yeah. After my grandpa died, I just played, um, what was it? Zel- Zelda, um-

Andrew Manganelli 34:22 Twilight Princess

David Imel 34:22 ... Twilight Princess. All-

Speaker 34:24 It had just come out.

David Imel 34:25 'Cause he kn- he knows. He knows my age. It had just come out, and literally for, like, a week and a half when I was staying with my grandma, I just played the entire game, like, all day every day and it w- it allowed me to zone out. It was the best thing ever. That's good.

Andrew Manganelli 34:38 I feel you.

David Imel 34:38 I had a friend with a Wii. I didn't have any video games growing up, but we'd go over to his house and be like, "Oh, we're gonna go, like, play basketball," or whatever, and then we'd just go play, like, Wii, Wii Golf and Wii Bowling. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 34:49 [laughs]

David Imel 34:49 Like, all the other games. 'Cause it was too much fun. Instead of basketball. Yeah. Sorry, Mom. Sorry, Mom. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 34:54 And split screen.

David Imel 34:56 Yeah, it was great.

Andrew Manganelli 34:56 Split screen.

David Imel 34:57 Split screen Halo at my friend's house was-

Andrew Manganelli 34:58 GoldenEye or-

David Imel 34:59 Halo 2 Halo.

Andrew Manganelli 35:02 We played so much Halo. I used to bring my TV to my friend's house, and we would have multiple people bring TVs-

David Imel 35:08 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 35:08 ... and we would all be in different rooms so you couldn't screen peek.

Speaker 35:11 Wait, like, like-

David Imel 35:13 Whoa

Andrew Manganelli 35:13 ... like, yes.

Speaker 35:14 Yeah, like a big CCTV.

Andrew Manganelli 35:14 I kid you not, like, I would be holding both of them and I would just be like... My mom would drop me off. I'd be like, knock, knock, knock on my friend's door, and I'd just walk in with this, like-

Speaker 35:21 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 35:21 ... TV and my Xbox-

David Imel 35:23 Wow

Andrew Manganelli 35:23 ... and set it up in a room and we would play Halo all day.

David Imel 35:25 Now you just log into a cloud server.

Andrew Manganelli 35:27 Old.

David Imel 35:27 [laughs] Yeah, kids these days have no idea.

Speaker 35:29 Now you just get told that you can't log in to a cloud server [laughs]

David Imel 35:32 Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 35:32 There's a blackout.

David Imel 35:33 Sorry. Yeah, I saw this meme where it was, like, 10 years of, of games, like, growing up as a kid, and it was like, it was, like, Ocarina of Time, and then it was, and then it was this game, and then it was this game. Totally different games like Final Fantasy and all this stuff. And then it was, like, 10 years of games now, and it's just Fortnite, Fortnite, Fortnite, just in a row. And I was like, "Oh, my God." [laughs] Until November, where GTA VI comes out.

Andrew Manganelli 35:54 2025.

David Imel 35:54 Allegedly. [laughs] Allegedly. All right, I think we need to take it to trivia and then our scheduled ad break. [upbeat music]

Speaker 36:07 Guys, what came first?

Andrew Manganelli 36:09 Sharks.

David Imel 36:10 76ers.

Andrew Manganelli 36:10 Before trees.

David Imel 36:12 Me.

Speaker 36:13 Wow. [laughs] You guys really do listen.

David Imel 36:15 Sharks, sharks came before fire.

Andrew Manganelli 36:18 That's not bad.

David Imel 36:18 Oh.

Speaker 36:19 That's not true.

David Imel 36:19 Do you know that?

Andrew Manganelli 36:19 Wait, like-

David Imel 36:20 Do you know lightning hit things and started on fire?

Andrew Manganelli 36:20 ... like, people making fire?

David Imel 36:22 I learned this on Reddit, so t-

Andrew Manganelli 36:24 [laughs]

David Imel 36:24 Asterisk.

Andrew Manganelli 36:25 Yeah.

David Imel 36:25 Asterisk. But s- it was like, "What are some facts that are real but seem not true?" Stars exist. Sharks have been, sharks have been in the oceans since- Before lightning ... before there was enough oxygen in the atmosphere for actual fire. Oh, really?

Andrew Manganelli 36:36 Oh.

David Imel 36:36 Yeah. That's- That's just what I read. It might not be true. Anyway. Hm. Continue, Ellis.

Andrew Manganelli 36:41 It's possible. I'll take it. [laughs]

David Imel 36:42 What about alligators? Uh, they're also pretty old, yeah. I feel like they look more like dinosaurs than sharks do.

Speaker 36:48 Yeah, Google this.

David Imel 36:48 Yeah, birds are dinosaurs.

Andrew Manganelli 36:49 I vote no.

Speaker 36:51 Guys, I gotta write a new trivia question. You've already said all the answers. [laughs]

David Imel 36:53 [laughs]

Speaker 36:54 No. What came first, the PlayStation 2's online service or Xbox Live?

David Imel 37:04 PlayStation 2 had an online service?

Speaker 37:05 It did.

David Imel 37:06 That's crazy.

Speaker 37:07 And you know what? I will give you one point.

David Imel 37:11 Hm.

Speaker 37:12 This might put too many points on the table, and people say they don't like that, but-

David Imel 37:14 It's the very beginning of the season

Andrew Manganelli 37:16 I, no, I don't think they mind one point. I think it was when I got, like, 78 points once. [laughs]

Speaker 37:19 Well, there are six titles that shipped at launch with online capabilities With the PlayStation 2. And if you can name any of them, I'll give you a point.

Marques Brownlee 37:29 With shipped with

Speaker 37:30 I-

Marques Brownlee 37:30 Like I said, I didn't grow up with video games, so this one's on you guys. Uh- Yeah. I wanna shout out really quickly too, though, that half of our normal viewers watched the Trivia Extravaganza, which is actually pretty good. We got like- Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 37:43 Oh, yeah.

Marques Brownlee 37:43 It currently has 115,000 views. It's chaotic. You should go watch it. Yeah, you should. Actually, the game we're playing later is a game we played on that, so if you like the game at the end of this episode- Then you could do a whole episode- ... go watch Trivia- ... it'd be great ... 'cause we do more of it. Nice. Good call out.

Speaker 37:55 All right.

Marques Brownlee 37:55 All right. We'll take a quick break. Answers for trivia will be at the end like usual. We'll be right back. [upbeat music]

I don't know what that- We're your hosts. Oh, it is 365.

Speaker 39:23 It is 365.

Marques Brownlee 39:23 I'm the free trial. You're the free trial? Yeah. I'm the security key that you could find easily online. I'm the one week of AOL on a CD that you got in the mail. Oh.

Speaker 39:33 Yo, I'm Edge. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 39:35 [laughs] I'm Edge. The, the Edge, like the f- like the wrestler. All right.

Speaker 39:39 Oh, no, he's, he's the guitar player in U2.

Marques Brownlee 39:42 Oh. Does sound like a wrestler. Does

39:44 – 48:36

Robot cleaning service

Marques Brownlee 39:44 sound like a wrestler. Okay, we're talking about a robot cleaning service. Andrew, what the hell is going on here? Okay. I can- So- I can show you. So- [laughs] Yeah, Marques wanted to talk. So every once in a while, I go on Twitter and just- Oof ... scroll for a little bit. Oof. And so I don't know if you remember this. A couple months ago, maybe it was a couple years ago, I did a video about that, uh, Neo robot. Yeah. Remember that Neo robot? That was, like, eight months ago. This was gonna be a humanoid five-foot-six robot that can go into your home and perform tasks and clean stuff for you. Yeah. And I made a video about how they have to advertise it and try to get people to buy it as if it's real, and exists, and can do that now, but it clearly cannot do that- Yeah ... because it doesn't have any of the data and the training to go in and clean your house and do this stuff. So they have this weird, like, crossroads that they're at, where they need to convince people to be early adopters so that they can get a bunch of training data, so that they can get more people to buy it, so then it can actually do what it's advertised. Yeah. Okay, so I'm on Twitter, and I scroll and I see there's this tweet, um, of a, a robot. And it says, "Today, we're launching Tau's humanoid cleaning service in San Francisco for 30 bucks an hour. Access is initially invite only as we scale operations. If you don't have an invite yet, join it at the wait list here. All footage is shown at 1X speed. Each humanoid is jointly controlled by a human operator and AI." And then there's a video of a little humanoid-shaped robot getting out of the backseat of a minivan- [laughs] ... and walking away with a cleaning bag, as if he's going to go do some job somewhere. Can I describe... I've- [laughs] I thought carefully how to describe it for our- Please describe this little humanoid robot. Okay. This is a four-and-a-half foot drunk man- [laughs] ... in the baggiest clothes possible. [laughs] Claws for hands. It's got- And its head can only resemble that- It's a router ... of a router and frog hybrid. Um- Yeah, yeah ... also, the cleaning supply bag that it picks up only has one microfiber cloth hanging off the side pouch. Yeah. Nothing else is in that bag that it's taking out. It's wearing shoes. It's wearing my shoes. It's wearing pants. It's wearing my New Balances. [laughs] It's wearing a jacket. Okay. This is- Wait, I have one more question about this. Yeah. Sorry. It's getting out of a minivan, which is kind of impressive. It's supposed to be like it got dropped off, right? Classic cleaning service, yeah. Does it have to wear a seatbelt? Um-

Speaker 41:53 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 41:53 Does it have to legally?

Speaker 41:55 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 41:55 No. No. 'Cause it's a thing. So this is the thing. It's not a person. I think as it not being a person, it doesn't have to, but therefore, still turns into an extreme safety hazard in a crash because it's not secured. True. But then also- Oh, yeah ... if it has its seatbelt on, zero chance claw hands is getting out of the seatbelt.

Speaker 42:11 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 42:11 Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Big claw hands. Yeah, that's nice. So- Big claw hands ... huge red flag off the first video. So yeah. So the idea, it turns out, and David, I, I, I know you haven't seen this yet, so I'd love for you to click the website. Oh, no. The idea is that this is a cleaning service offered at a discounted rate so that they can literally just start gathering training data. Yeah. They are for people who are totally cool with all these robots being fully remote operated right from the beginning, and you are agreeing to have a person go into your home through this robot and just clean stuff for you and do services for you. Mm-hmm. So if you scroll down on this website a little bit, what you will see is videos of this little freaky humanoid robot doing chores in a kind of a smooth-ish looking manner. Mm. Sometimes. Pretty good. Sometimes. It's like me after leg day, basically. Yeah. Yeah. It's kinda shaking a little bit. Yeah.

Speaker 42:58 It's 24 frames per second, so-

Marques Brownlee 42:59 But we are all now under the complete understanding that this is a person remote operating this, and they are gonna wipe down counters, and clean up, and vacuum, and empty the trash, and move stuff from off the middle of the floor to clean your house, and you'll pay for it, and it'll be cheaper than a person would be because you are letting someone in your house get that training data for the robot for its sweet, sweet data. Yeah. Yeah. So- It also is- Yeah ... it's, watching it do all of its chores is-

Andrew Manganelli 43:28 It looks insanely focused because you can tell whoever is teleoperating-

David Imel 43:32 There's a person tele-

Andrew Manganelli 43:32 ... this is having a very hard time trying to see what's going on and control it.

David Imel 43:37 Mm-hmm.

Andrew Manganelli 43:37 So it's, like, wiping the table, and its head is just cocked down, like, perfect 90 degrees.

David Imel 43:42 Locked, yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 43:43 Locked in, just wiping, like, three-

David Imel 43:44 Trying to spray the spray bottle really, really bad

Andrew Manganelli 43:47 ... The spray bottle's my favorite video.

David Imel 43:49 Yeah, it's so slow.

Andrew Manganelli 43:49 Can you describe the scene?

David Imel 43:51 So there's a four-and-a-half foot man in a costume-

Andrew Manganelli 43:54 [laughs]

David Imel 43:54 ... um, with a router, Netgear router as his head.

Andrew Manganelli 43:58 [laughs] Yeah.

David Imel 43:58 And he's pinching this, like, spray bottle with the, with his right claw, and he-

Andrew Manganelli 44:04 At the bottom

David Imel 44:04 ... at the bottom, and he's tilting it. And the f- the left claw is trying really, really hard to spray, and he's kinda shaking a little bit, and he finally gets a couple spritzes off.

Andrew Manganelli 44:14 On a counter that is filled with junk.

David Imel 44:17 Yeah, it's a ton of stuff.

Andrew Manganelli 44:17 There's, like, hot lids, milk cartons, there's a portafilter, there's, like, a blender.

David Imel 44:22 There's milk. There's just milk for some reason.

Andrew Manganelli 44:22 They just spray it on, like, all of the stuff.

David Imel 44:24 That's true. Just spraying it on the portafilter-

Andrew Manganelli 44:26 [laughs]

David Imel 44:27 ... which you wouldn't wanna have in your coffee.

Andrew Manganelli 44:29 Yeah.

David Imel 44:29 But that's interesting. Um, yeah, this is not that different from the Neo thing because the Neo thing also they were like, "We are having-" [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 44:38 [laughs]

David Imel 44:39 Watching the video.

Marques Brownlee 44:39 They would be so mad if you [laughs]

David Imel 44:41 Well-

Marques Brownlee 44:41 'Cause the Neo, the last Neo announcement was like, "We've invented the most advanced cybertronic hand ever invented with 10 million-"

David Imel 44:49 Oh, yeah

Marques Brownlee 44:49 ... "moving parts and a pulley system." And then this little guy's like... [laughs]

David Imel 44:53 Well, I'm just saying it's the same thing where, like, they had people that were teleoperating these things with, like, VR headsets and [beep] .

Andrew Manganelli 44:59 Yeah.

David Imel 45:00 And they're basically doing it at a discounted rate in order to train the AI what it is like to clean a house.

Andrew Manganelli 45:08 Yeah.

David Imel 45:09 Uh, and it's, it seems the same.

Andrew Manganelli 45:11 If I'm giving Tau credit, they're very upfront with the fact that-

David Imel 45:14 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 45:14 ... it's teleoperated, and this is training.

David Imel 45:16 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 45:16 And so, like-

David Imel 45:17 Neo is not

Andrew Manganelli 45:17 ... I will give them full credit there. Neo is, they said it, but they were not upfront about it.

David Imel 45:21 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 45:21 This is like, the CEO's tweet, in the tweet says, "Teleoperated-"

David Imel 45:26 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 45:26 ... "these are people."

David Imel 45:27 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 45:27 So there are apparently three different cleaner robots with different colored heads, uh, that are specialized at different tasks. There's Chelsea.

David Imel 45:36 This, this, just for the record, makes no sense to me.

Andrew Manganelli 45:38 [laughs] Zero sense.

David Imel 45:38 Well, it's sort, I think that they're going off, like, the agent model-

Andrew Manganelli 45:42 Yeah

David Imel 45:42 ... where they train it to do s- very specific things for very specific tasks.

Andrew Manganelli 45:45 Which-

Marques Brownlee 45:45 Oh, okay

Andrew Manganelli 45:45 ... can be loaded-

David Imel 45:47 Onto the robot. Yeah

Marques Brownlee 45:49 And the robots are all the same, 'cause-

David Imel 45:50 Yeah, they should all be able to do everything-

Andrew Manganelli 45:53 They-

David Imel 45:53 ... unle- unless they have, like, different claws or something. Anyway, there's Chelsea, there's Elon, which has gotta be tongue in cheek, and there's Tony.

Andrew Manganelli 46:02 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 46:03 Um, yeah, this is weird, I, I gotta say.

Andrew Manganelli 46:06 They, they have, like, specialties. Chelsea does sinks, counters, mirrors, and tile. Elon-

David Imel 46:12 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 46:12 ... can remember where your things belong and put them back, rather than tidying them into a pile. Don't know what that means. And Tony deep cleans, grout, baseboard, windows. I guess Tony's better at getting down low? I don't know.

David Imel 46:26 I mean, they're all four and a half feet tall. Everyone should all be able-

Andrew Manganelli 46:28 [laughs] Yeah, they're all pretty low

David Imel 46:29 ... to get down low. Yeah. What about putting my stuff away in the higher cabinets? They're all too short for that.

Marques Brownlee 46:34 Yeah. This is so... Okay, the one thing that keeps coming back to me is this video of it trying to do the spray bottle, right?

David Imel 46:40 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 46:40 Okay. So the idea, this is funny 'cause it's kind of backwards from what you'd expect. The Neo, as you described, Ellis, has these really advanced, like, it has fingers 'cause it's trying to be a human hand because the idea of a humanoid robot is we've built the world around a human shape.

David Imel 46:57 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 46:57 So if you can make a humanoid robot, it can do all the things a human can do. So a spray bottle, you have to have, like, fingers that are, like, dextrous enough to, like, grab the bottle by the neck, but then also the trigger to, like, point it and spray. But this robot just has claws.

David Imel 47:13 Claws.

Marques Brownlee 47:13 Just claws.

David Imel 47:14 Big meaty claws.

Marques Brownlee 47:14 So it can't do the, like, dextrous, like, grab and spray and point thing, so it has to hold the bottle with one claw-

David Imel 47:20 Right

Marques Brownlee 47:20 ... and, like, squeeze it with the other claw and aim it by tilting it, which is, it's like, why are you trying to make it human-shaped at all? Just make it good at all the cleaning stuff and forget the human shape.

Andrew Manganelli 47:31 It's, why doesn't it just have a hose that runs down its arm and cleaning solution backpack? [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 47:35 Yeah.

David Imel 47:35 Just spray.

Marques Brownlee 47:36 Yeah, exactly. Like, why is it-

David Imel 47:38 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 47:38 Okay, that's what you would get from a cleaning service.

Andrew Manganelli 47:40 Also, I don't think the Neo hands could s- If you think about squeezing a spray bottle with one hand, like, that's a, an easy task-

Marques Brownlee 47:46 I was being generous with the Neo

Andrew Manganelli 47:47 ... to us humans. But, like-

Marques Brownlee 47:48 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 47:48 ... I think that would be really hard to be, like, pinching it with enough pressure so that it's not spraying-

Marques Brownlee 47:54 Mm-hmm

Andrew Manganelli 47:54 ... aiming it, and then squeezing it. And, like, I don't think Neo could pull that off.

Marques Brownlee 47:58 I was being generous with the Neo.

Andrew Manganelli 47:59 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 47:59 I think it's just, like, the idea is it's trying to be as human as possible-

Andrew Manganelli 48:02 Yes

Marques Brownlee 48:02 ... so that it can eventually be good enough to do the human stuff.

Andrew Manganelli 48:04 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 48:05 This one, it physically does not have human hands, and I guess it's a little more rudimentary of a robot.

Andrew Manganelli 48:10 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 48:10 So it's like, if you're not... Uh, the only thing human about it is that it's bipedal and standing upright. It's, like, balancing-

Andrew Manganelli 48:16 Shaking upright. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 48:16 ... shaking on two legs trying to spray the counter. Just make a robot that's five feet tall with a hose on it that just sprays the counter.

Andrew Manganelli 48:22 Mm.

Marques Brownlee 48:23 But, you know, this is not about that. This is about being human-shaped.

David Imel 48:26 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 48:26 So here we are.

David Imel 48:27 Well, this is, like, the 12th robot like this that we've seen in the last year.

Marques Brownlee 48:31 Yeah.

David Imel 48:31 And I don't know if any of them are gonna come to fruition. However, I'm not sure any of them can come to fruition now

48:36 – 53:41

Robot ban

David Imel 48:36 because just last night, the US government, uh, has banned robots made outside of the US, including, uh, robot vacuums. Any robots that are over 4.4 pounds, um, for robot vacuums, that includes their charger. So that's-

Andrew Manganelli 48:50 Oh

David Imel 48:50 ... that's funny. So I, a lot of-

Marques Brownlee 48:52 That's like everything

David Imel 48:52 ... those chargers will probably make it over 4.4 pounds.

Marques Brownlee 48:56 Yeah.

David Imel 48:56 So they issued a new ban on advanced robotic devices and power inverters from foreign countries. Uh, the ban will include humanoid and quad, quadruped robots, as well as robot vacuums. They define this type of robot as a machine that is capable of locomotion, obstacle avoidance, navigation, or movement on the ground, comes with a sensor that perceives the surrounding environment, and has a chip for network connectivity. It must also weigh more than 4.4 pounds, including the docking station if it has one.

Marques Brownlee 49:23 It's basically everyone.

David Imel 49:25 Every single robot that we've seen in the last year-

Marques Brownlee 49:27 Yeah

David Imel 49:28 ... all apparently needs to be made in the United States. None of that will happen.

Marques Brownlee 49:31 This seems, uh, I don't know, pretty ham-fisted. Do you think this is just the current administration doing this type of stuff? Or is this like-

David Imel 49:37 I think most of it is

Marques Brownlee 49:38 ... a larger concern? Yeah.

David Imel 49:39 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 49:39 Most of it with the drones, with the, you know-

David Imel 49:41 With, yeah, DJI.

Marques Brownlee 49:42 Yeah.

David Imel 49:42 Like, we talked about the drones before.

Marques Brownlee 49:43 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 49:44 So they banned a bunch of Chinese companies making drones, including the most popular ones, like DJI.

Marques Brownlee 49:49 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 49:50 And then-

Marques Brownlee 49:51 [laughs] They would spin off

David Imel 49:52 ... I was gonna say, we didn't even talk about that.

Marques Brownlee 49:54 Yeah, yeah.

David Imel 49:54 But DJI spun up a bunch of fake companies to try to, like s- like, hide in the US, and they-

Marques Brownlee 49:59 Mm

David Imel 49:59 ... banned those as well, so.

Marques Brownlee 50:01 Yeah. So now they're adding all these robots and robot vacuums to that list.

David Imel 50:05 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 50:06 Cool. Yeah, so now we have to only get the American-made. Is Dyson, they're Swedish, right? I don't feel like we have any American-made ones here.

David Imel 50:13 Ye- probably not.

Marques Brownlee 50:14 Where's Dyson from?

David Imel 50:15 Yeah, I don't know. I mean, my, my-

Marques Brownlee 50:16 They're not American?

David Imel 50:17 My, like, AC is American Air, but I'm pretty sure it's not made in America.

Marques Brownlee 50:21 Yeah.

David Imel 50:22 Um-

Marques Brownlee 50:22 Hoover? Is that still a thing?

David Imel 50:24 Hoover? I don't know.

Marques Brownlee 50:25 Is Hoover American?

Speaker 50:26 Oreck.

David Imel 50:26 [laughs] Yeah. In the US-

Speaker 50:29 Which is American

David Imel 50:29 ... uh, ban documentation, they did mention, uh... Do you remember when we talked about that DJI v- uh, robot vacuum that was super easily hacked, and people were able to, like, see the 3D maps of everyone's homes-

Marques Brownlee 50:44 [laughs]

David Imel 50:44 ... that the robot vacuum created?

Marques Brownlee 50:46 That would be a concern, yeah.

David Imel 50:48 Yeah. So y- The Verge had put out an article about how simple that was to hack, and how, like, the data you could collect on it. They specifically mention this in the ban document-

Marques Brownlee 50:58 Okay

David Imel 50:58 ... uh, for this reason.

Marques Brownlee 50:59 All right.

David Imel 51:00 But-

Speaker 51:00 I guess fair

Marques Brownlee 51:01 ... yeah.

Speaker 51:01 I mean, that's a good example of why this is [laughs] bad.

David Imel 51:04 But it is crazy how much money robot vacuum companies spend on US tech YouTubers as sponsors.

Marques Brownlee 51:11 Oh, yeah.

David Imel 51:12 And I feel like all of these are just going to vanish now.

Marques Brownlee 51:15 Yeah, there's many, many, many companies who do very-

David Imel 51:18 Roborock

Marques Brownlee 51:18 ... very similar products.

David Imel 51:20 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 51:20 They all are... Like, you've probably seen, like, if you're picturing a, what's the most common one? Um-

David Imel 51:25 Roborock or-

Marques Brownlee 51:26 iRobot.

David Imel 51:27 iRobot.

Speaker 51:28 Roomba.

Marques Brownlee 51:28 What, Roomba, yeah.

David Imel 51:29 Roomba.

Marques Brownlee 51:29 You're p- when I say the word Roomba, you're picturing a shape of a robot vacuum in your head-

David Imel 51:33 They all look like that

Marques Brownlee 51:33 ... that is made by 25 different companies-

David Imel 51:35 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 51:35 ... who all have advertised on your YouTube page at some point.

David Imel 51:38 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 51:38 So all of them not being from the US means-

David Imel 51:42 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 51:43 ... that probably won't happen.

David Imel 51:44 It's very similar to the just router ban of all routers made outside of the US, which was all of them. And so then they had to give, like, permission to, like, ASRock and a couple of other random router companies. I imagine that's what's gonna happen here, where they will give exemptions to very, very popular robotic vacuum companies. But as to what it does to all of these humanoid robots, I feel like-

Marques Brownlee 52:07 These are all American companies, though, that I'm seeing.

David Imel 52:09 Yeah, but they have to be made in the United States.

Marques Brownlee 52:11 Oh.

David Imel 52:11 Like, they can't be m- assembled outside the US.

Marques Brownlee 52:14 Interesting.

David Imel 52:14 So they might be able to do some weird workaround where the parts are just shipped to the US and then they're assembled there, but I also don't see that scaling. Who knows? I think that a lot of these companies will probably just keep trudging on, because none of these ro- like, humanoid robots are going to be ready within the next two years, and this administration is only lasting another couple years, so, you know, they'll be able to do things later-

Marques Brownlee 52:36 [laughs]

David Imel 52:36 ... probably.

Speaker 52:37 Interesting.

Marques Brownlee 52:37 The docking station thing-

David Imel 52:38 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 52:38 ... is weird. My first thought would be like, well, if you sell it without the docking station.

David Imel 52:42 That's true. They could-

Marques Brownlee 52:43 Does that count?

David Imel 52:43 ... sell it without the docking station-

Marques Brownlee 52:44 But then if it needs-

David Imel 52:45 ... sell it separately

Marques Brownlee 52:45 ... the docking station, yeah, I don't know.

David Imel 52:47 They could sell it separately as, like, a bundle deal.

Marques Brownlee 52:49 Oh, no, but it-

David Imel 52:50 Maybe.

Marques Brownlee 52:50 Yeah. You still need it because that's where it empties the vacuuming stuff into.

David Imel 52:54 Depends on the robot. Some of them do that, some of them don't.

Marques Brownlee 52:57 Really? There's some-

David Imel 52:57 Some have, like, a super, super basic, uh, dock that's, like, s- pretty light 'cause it doesn't do anything. It's just like where it's gonna-

Speaker 53:03 Just like a inductive charger kinda situation.

David Imel 53:04 Basically, yeah.

Speaker 53:05 Yeah.

David Imel 53:05 Yeah.

Speaker 53:05 Interesting.

Marques Brownlee 53:06 Hmm.

David Imel 53:07 Well, we'll see what happens with that. That just happened last night, so I'm sure that we'll get some um, some press releases from these companies.

Marques Brownlee 53:12 If anybody in San Francisco actually pays for this cleaning service, please send me videos of it crashing around-

David Imel 53:17 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 53:18 ... and, like, doing things in your house. I would love to see this.

David Imel 53:20 I will say, I am surprised at how well this robot seems to be walking around and stuff when it jumps out of the van. It's-

Marques Brownlee 53:26 Yeah, that, that's the most impressive video, is it-

David Imel 53:28 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 53:28 ... getting out of the seat, jumping out of the van-

David Imel 53:30 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 53:30 ... and walking out looking like an actual four-foot human.

David Imel 53:33 [laughs] Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 53:34 Um.

David Imel 53:34 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 53:35 Don't know how well it cleans, but-

David Imel 53:36 Yeah

Marques Brownlee 53:36 ... that was cool.

Speaker 53:37 If, if you want a good time, read the terms of service. There's some great stuff in there.

David Imel 53:40 Oh, God. Wearing the same New

53:41 – 58:46

OpenAI agent broke out of its sandbox

David Imel 53:41 Balances as me. Okay. An OpenAI agent broke out of its sandbox and hacked Hugging Face to find the answer key.

Speaker 53:50 With, like, quotations around, like, every single one of those words.

David Imel 53:53 There's quotations around every single aspect of this, for sure. Um, I-

Speaker 53:56 All right. Well, perhaps these are-

David Imel 53:56 And I put this, I put this in the story. Effectively, OpenAI was testing how good, uh, various amounts of its models were at offensive hacking. So it ran this internal evaluation called Exploit Gym, which measur- measures its offensive capabilities in an isolated environment. So it was in a sandbox. They were told to solve a benchmark with no constraints on how to do so, uh, but instead of just doing the benchmark, the models realized it was faster to just break out of the sandbox and then hack Hugging Face and steal the answer key. Uh, OpenAI did not realize this had happened for, like, a week. Hugging Face noticed that there was, like, a cyber attack on them a few days later, and they suspected that it was a rogue model, et cetera.

Speaker 54:40 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 54:40 And then OpenAI figured it out, they contacted them, and then they put out, like, this paper together, and the Hugging Face CEO seemed, like, legit excit- And for those that don't know, Hugging Face is, like, an AI benchmarking database, like, place. And, uh-

Marques Brownlee 54:56 That's a weird name.

David Imel 54:57 Yeah.

Speaker 54:58 That is weird.

David Imel 54:58 It was in the very, very, very beginning of all this stuff happening, so I think there was, it was just the wild west.

Marques Brownlee 55:03 That tracks.

Speaker 55:03 It's where, like, a lot of open source agents are, um, or excuse me, open source models-

David Imel 55:07 Yeah

Speaker 55:07 ... are, are posted. I grab-

David Imel 55:08 Yeah

Speaker 55:09 ... when, when Meta was doing all the, like, music generation models a little bit ago, that's where I would grab them all from.

David Imel 55:13 Hmm. Interesting.

Speaker 55:15 So it's like GitHub, but for models?

David Imel 55:16 Yeah, sort of. Um, anyway, it's just like, you know, they, they intentionally were saying, like, "Be offensive," and they took off some of its safeguards and, like, ABC, D, E, F, G. But, like- You know, these open source models are getting easier and easier to run and access, et cetera. And I feel like we're going to start see- starting, we're going to start seeing a lot more of this happening in the future. The weird thing was that the Hugging Face CEO seems excited that this had happened.

Speaker 55:47 [laughs]

David Imel 55:47 You know? Which is, um, I can see it when it's like, oopsie, it's a frontier lab that's making these models, et cetera. But if this was a real, if this was a person who had gone out and said, "Go hack this company", that would be, like, a federal crime.

Speaker 56:03 'Cause it did it.

David Imel 56:04 Yeah. So, like, it is a federal crime, but they don't care, so they're not, like, pursuing charges 'cause it's a frontier lab.

Speaker 56:11 Mm-hmm.

David Imel 56:11 But this is gonna start happening for a lot more companies, and it's just gonna get really weird and Wild West-y, and, um, just wanted to throw that one out there.

Speaker 56:20 Yeah.

David Imel 56:20 It's a little strange. It's a little strange. Now we just need to put one of these inside of these robots.

Speaker 56:24 I need to just look at this robot again to-

David Imel 56:26 [laughs]

Speaker 56:27 ... to feel joy.

David Imel 56:27 Yeah, it's like after watching a horror movie-

Speaker 56:29 Yeah

David Imel 56:29 ... and then you watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to kinda calm your brain.

Speaker 56:32 I just have a feeling-

David Imel 56:32 So fucking-

Speaker 56:32 ... there's gonna be so many, 'cause they're really doing it. They're launching the service. There's gonna, there's like, we are on the brink of a flood of videos of these things, like, bumping into walls and, like, wandering around people's houses.

David Imel 56:42 Yeah.

Speaker 56:43 I'm so excited for that.

David Imel 56:44 Well, in San Francisco only.

Speaker 56:45 In San Francisco.

David Imel 56:46 [laughs]

Speaker 56:46 But, like, go on Twitter.

David Imel 56:47 And only if you're an-

Speaker 56:47 That's like a portal into San Francisco.

David Imel 56:49 [laughs] That's true.

Speaker 56:49 If you're an appro- approved tester. So I'm sure there's gonna be-

David Imel 56:53 But we don't know anything

Speaker 56:53 ... something like no recordings allowed.

David Imel 56:55 Yeah.

Speaker 56:55 No-

David Imel 56:55 No saying bad things

Speaker 56:56 ... no NDAs. No.

David Imel 56:57 I'm not exactly sure.

Speaker 56:58 Let us see the robot.

Speaker 56:59 There is a service terms, and they do have something about them recording you. Um-

David Imel 57:05 Okay. Yeah, hopefully it doesn't do that.

Speaker 57:07 Every cleaning is recorded. Operator watches live. We keep the footage and use it to train our models. Um, everyone will be told before they arrive. I don't see... You give us perpetual worldwide royalty-free license to use footage, telemetry, and other data recorded during your visit to operate, develop, train, and improve our robots, models, and services.

David Imel 57:24 Yep.

Speaker 57:24 They do say they won't publish or display footage that identifies you or your home-

David Imel 57:28 Better not

Speaker 57:28 ... without permission. I don't see anything saying you can't record it.

David Imel 57:33 Great.

Speaker 57:34 Please.

David Imel 57:34 Until you, until you sign the documents.

Speaker 57:36 Yeah, until, that's just, like, to apply for the, being a-

David Imel 57:38 Yeah

Speaker 57:38 ... tester. I'm sure there's a lot more paperwork once you-

David Imel 57:40 Yeah, once you sign, once they pick you

Speaker 57:41 ... agree.

David Imel 57:41 Yeah. For sure.

Speaker 57:42 Well, let me know on Twitter what happens, please.

David Imel 57:44 All right. Anyway.

Speaker 57:45 Yeah.

David Imel 57:45 All right. We'll take one more quick break, [laughs] and we'll come back to play our game. But before that, one more trivia question, please. [upbeat music]

Speaker 57:53 Trivia, dude. All right. The iPad Pro.

David Imel 57:57 Uh-huh.

Speaker 57:58 First generation-

David Imel 57:59 Mm-hmm

Speaker 58:00 ... came out in 2015.

David Imel 58:02 Wow, I'm old.

Speaker 58:03 Do y- [laughs] I know, same. Do you remember how much RAM it had?

David Imel 58:07 No.

Speaker 58:07 Did Apple even publish that at the time?

David Imel 58:09 I don't know.

Speaker 58:10 I don't know if it was out at the time or not.

David Imel 58:10 For sure, they, they definitely... Well, I'm guessing they didn't tell us, but people found out about it.

Speaker 58:14 For sure. And there are two answers to this, because if you remember, there were two different sized iPads.

David Imel 58:20 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 58:20 So two points up for grabs.

David Imel 58:21 That's gross.

Speaker 58:22 Oh, I remember.

Speaker 58:23 Wait, how do you have-

David Imel 58:24 Oh, 'cause there's a small iPad Pro and a big iPad Pro.

Speaker 58:25 Yeah, correct.

David Imel 58:25 There's, like, the, okay, 11 and 13.

Speaker 58:27 That was pro?

David Imel 58:28 Yeah.

Speaker 58:28 Yeah, the, the 9.7 inch and the 12.9 inch.

David Imel 58:31 Wow.

Speaker 58:31 I was wrong.

David Imel 58:33 Hmm. How much RAM did they have? Okay. All right. Well, we'll think about that a bit. Answers at the end. We'll be right back. [upbeat music]

58:46 – 1:31:12

Keyword Search

Speaker 58:48 Welcome back. So for this last segment, we are going to be playing a game that you may have, uh, seen us play before if you watched the Trivia Extravaganza. If you did not, go watch it. But it is called Keyword Search, and this time we put Ellis at the big boy table. And we're gonna have two teams.

David Imel 59:05 Glad we're playing this.

Speaker 59:06 Yeah. We're gonna do Team Ellis and David versus Team Andrew and Marques.

David Imel 59:12 Lock in.

Speaker 59:13 I specifically did not come up with a name for Ellis and David because I wanted you guys to come up with it live on the podcast.

David Imel 59:18 Oh, man.

Speaker 59:19 So figure it out. Because Team Andrew and Marques are Team Lawn Sports.

Speaker 59:22 Lawn Sports.

David Imel 59:22 Fair enough.

Speaker 59:23 So it's you guys.

David Imel 59:23 What do we, what do we have in common?

Speaker 59:24 California, obviously.

David Imel 59:25 Oh yeah, true.

Speaker 59:26 Yeah.

David Imel 59:27 California Boys.

Speaker 59:27 Coastal Elites.

Speaker 59:29 I would be... Yeah, yeah. [laughter] I feel like that Team Coastal Elites.

David Imel 59:31 But you guys are also from the coast, just the other, the, the worst coast. The worst coast.

Speaker 59:35 How dare you?

David Imel 59:36 I feel like-

Speaker 59:37 East, East Coast

David Imel 59:37 ... how about Best, Bestal Elites or Best Coast?

Speaker 59:41 No, I think, I think-

David Imel 59:41 We could just call it Best Coast.

Speaker 59:43 Isn't that a thing already?

David Imel 59:44 Yeah, that's already a thing.

Speaker 59:44 California.

David Imel 59:45 Well, that's West Coast.

Speaker 59:45 Isn't there, like, a rapper named Best Coast?

David Imel 59:48 Oh, that I don't know.

Speaker 59:48 Probably.

David Imel 59:49 I'll do Coastal Elites. That's fine.

Speaker 59:50 He could sue us.

Speaker 59:50 Yeah, I think Coastal Elites makes it work.

David Imel 59:52 Yeah, okay.

Speaker 59:52 Yeah. Okay, so we have Team Lawn Sports, which is Andrew and Marques versus-

David Imel 59:56 Mm-hmm

Speaker 59:56 ... Team Coastal Elites-

David Imel 59:58 Yeah

Speaker 59:58 ... which is David and Ellis.

David Imel 59:59 That's right.

Speaker 59:59 The way this works is I'm going to ask you guys a question, and you have to, as a team, give me three words that I type into Google, and the answer to the question needs to be on that first page of Google.

David Imel 1:00:13 Okay.

Speaker 1:00:13 So again, same example as last time. If I said name a Reddit founder, you have to say something like-

Speaker 1:00:19 Total scumbag.

David Imel 1:00:21 Serena Williams' husband.

Speaker 1:00:23 Short, dumb scumbag.

Speaker 1:00:23 That's, that's, that's the one I was looking for.

David Imel 1:00:24 Oh.

Speaker 1:00:25 That's three words, Andrew.

David Imel 1:00:27 Total.

Speaker 1:00:27 Not total scumbag. That's two.

David Imel 1:00:29 All right.

Speaker 1:00:29 I guess if you separate-

Speaker 1:00:30 Short-

Speaker 1:00:30 ... scum and bag

Speaker 1:00:31 ... he's also little.

David Imel 1:00:33 He's short.

Speaker 1:00:33 I'm thinking about the other guy.

David Imel 1:00:34 Short, little, scum. [laughs]

Speaker 1:00:35 No, no, no. Steve Huffman.

David Imel 1:00:37 The other guy. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:00:37 Oh, okay, okay. That makes way more sense. All right.

David Imel 1:00:40 [laughs]

Speaker 1:00:40 So first question.

David Imel 1:00:42 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:00:43 Who wants to go first?

David Imel 1:00:44 Oh, which group?

Speaker 1:00:45 Yeah, which group?

David Imel 1:00:45 I mean, usually the elites get to go first.

Speaker 1:00:47 Ooh, that's true.

Speaker 1:00:49 Yeah.

David Imel 1:00:49 That's true.

Speaker 1:00:49 That's true.

David Imel 1:00:49 Yeah.

Speaker 1:00:49 All right.

David Imel 1:00:50 That's how this works.

Speaker 1:00:50 So first question for Coastal Elites, what OS version did the LG G4 launch with?

David Imel 1:00:57 The G4.

Speaker 1:00:57 The LG G4.

David Imel 1:00:58 That's embarrassing.

Speaker 1:00:58 Why?

Speaker 1:00:58 You know what the interesting thing is? This one is left over from Trivia Extravaganza.

David Imel 1:01:01 Yeah. [laughs]

Speaker 1:01:02 And I should remember the answer.

David Imel 1:01:03 Yep. And I knew you wouldn't-

Speaker 1:01:04 Okay

David Imel 1:01:04 ... know anything about Android.

Speaker 1:01:05 G, G4?

Speaker 1:01:08 It's a dessert.

David Imel 1:01:09 [laughs]

Speaker 1:01:10 No. Okay, okay. Is, can we use the word Android? I mean-

David Imel 1:01:13 Uh, he wants-

Speaker 1:01:13 You cannot because it's in the answer.

David Imel 1:01:15 He wants the version.

Speaker 1:01:17 Okay.

David Imel 1:01:17 Do you want the-

Speaker 1:01:17 I know

David Imel 1:01:17 ... the, the food or the number?

Speaker 1:01:19 No, no, we gotta think, we gotta think more broadly. We just gotta get every single Android version listed.

David Imel 1:01:24 Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 1:01:24 I need an answer. What's it gonna be?

Speaker 1:01:26 List, 'cause I want AI Overview to do it. So list- Li- list phone desserts maybe?

David Imel 1:01:34 List... How about, um, what about list LG versions?

Speaker 1:01:40 No, no, no, it's a-

Speaker 1:01:41 Three, and-

Speaker 1:01:41 No, list-

Speaker 1:01:42 Two

Speaker 1:01:42 ... list phone desserts

David Imel 1:01:43 List G4 version.

Speaker 1:01:45 Okay, let me check. List phone desserts.

Andrew Manganelli 1:01:50 I do think the-

Speaker 1:01:50 It's lollipop. I remembered it now

Andrew Manganelli 1:01:52 ... the timing-

David Imel 1:01:53 Did we read the question?

Andrew Manganelli 1:01:53 I think we need more than the waiting time. You know what I mean?

David Imel 1:01:57 Yeah.

Speaker 1:01:57 More time than the sound.

Andrew Manganelli 1:01:58 More time than the sound effect-

Speaker 1:02:00 Yeah, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:00 ... thing, which, which they gave you more.

David Imel 1:02:02 That gives you more.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:02 But I'm saying-

Speaker 1:02:02 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:03 Yeah, yeah, I'm just saying that's really fast when you have to think of the answer and then how to describe the answer.

David Imel 1:02:07 Yeah.

Speaker 1:02:07 You know what's crazy? You didn't even notice Adam's haircut.

Speaker 1:02:11 Damn.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:11 Adam didn't notice my haircut.

David Imel 1:02:13 Adam didn't notice my haircut.

Speaker 1:02:14 Jesus.

Speaker 1:02:14 I didn't even notice I got a haircut.

David Imel 1:02:15 Wait, I was gonna get a haircut, but I'm getting it tonight.

Speaker 1:02:17 Did you guys actually get haircuts?

Speaker 1:02:19 Literally yesterday.

David Imel 1:02:19 Why do we always get haircuts at the same time? [laughs]

Speaker 1:02:22 That's crazy.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:22 I hate my haircut.

David Imel 1:02:23 Did you also?

Speaker 1:02:23 Guys-

David Imel 1:02:24 Yeah

Speaker 1:02:24 ... I'm the [beep] .

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:25 [laughs] Yeah.

David Imel 1:02:27 Wait, Ellis, are you getting-

Speaker 1:02:27 I think Coastal Elites-

David Imel 1:02:28 Are you getting a haircut soon?

Speaker 1:02:29 Probably soon, yeah.

David Imel 1:02:30 I'm getting one tonight. You wanna come with?

Speaker 1:02:32 Gotta text my barber.

David Imel 1:02:34 You just get it-

Speaker 1:02:34 Do we get the points?

Speaker 1:02:35 You got the point.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:35 Yeah.

Speaker 1:02:36 Really?

Speaker 1:02:37 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:37 How'd you not use the word Google?

Speaker 1:02:39 Wah-psh.

Speaker 1:02:40 AI overview literally listed them all out as Ellis entered his.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:43 It did, really?

David Imel 1:02:43 That was a good plan. That was a good plan.

Speaker 1:02:44 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:44 I was just surprised you didn't use the term Google.

David Imel 1:02:46 [laughs]

Speaker 1:02:46 [laughs]

Speaker 1:02:47 Dude, he's doing LeBron sellies right now.

Andrew Manganelli 1:02:49 Oh.

David Imel 1:02:50 That's crazy. Just do an injection.

Speaker 1:02:51 All right, next question for Team Lawn Sports.

David Imel 1:02:54 Okay.

Speaker 1:02:54 When was Google Photos first launched? Looking for the month, day, year, but closest wins.

David Imel 1:02:59 Google Photos first launched. Month, day, year.

Speaker 1:03:01 These are harder than the last ones.

David Imel 1:03:02 Yeah, but-

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:02 That's true, that's true

David Imel 1:03:03 ... you can just get it close enough. It's fine.

Speaker 1:03:05 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:06 What-

Speaker 1:03:07 I'll look for the, the month and the year. I'll give you the month and year.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:09 Um, okay. How do we redo Google? It probably won't... Oh, Android. I was gonna say picture app launch.

David Imel 1:03:17 Picture service?

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:17 But that's for Google Photos. Um...

David Imel 1:03:23 Android picture service? But I want, I want the launch date to show up.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:27 Yeah.

David Imel 1:03:28 Oh, man.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:29 Android picture app, and do you think it'll just say when it launched? I don't think it'll say when it launched.

David Imel 1:03:35 Yeah. I guess-

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:36 Android picture launch?

David Imel 1:03:38 Android pictures. Android-

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:40 And it probably will be like, "Did you mean Android photo or Google Photos?" And then maybe it'll show the launch.

David Imel 1:03:45 Worth a shot.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:47 That's all I can think of.

David Imel 1:03:47 Yeah. I guess, yeah. I don't know. It's gotta be the launch date.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:50 Android pictures launch?

David Imel 1:03:50 Android pictures l- can we say launch?

Speaker 1:03:54 Android pictures launch?

David Imel 1:03:55 Launch.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:56 Oh, yeah. Can we say launch? Is that-

Speaker 1:03:57 Uh, no, you cannot, 'cause that was in the question.

David Imel 1:03:59 Ooh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:03:59 Um-

David Imel 1:04:00 Uh, Android pictures, um, start.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:03 Start. It probably [laughs] is not-

David Imel 1:04:05 Start. Yeah, it's a tough one. Let's try it.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:07 Start?

David Imel 1:04:08 Android pictures start. Wow, really specific.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:11 'Cause it's sitting right there.

David Imel 1:04:12 What about Android picture service? But too late.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:14 Yeah, but still don't know-

David Imel 1:04:15 Getting the launch date out of just... Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:17 Yeah.

Speaker 1:04:18 Let's see.

David Imel 1:04:19 He could get the name of it.

Speaker 1:04:19 Or what about Android pictures Wikipedia? [laughs] That's what I would've done.

David Imel 1:04:23 Android pictures Wikipedia.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:25 That might-

David Imel 1:04:25 Would that show Google Photos?

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:26 That might be-

Speaker 1:04:26 Not there. Sorry, guys.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:28 What did it say?

Speaker 1:04:28 Did not get it. Nothing. It's not there.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:30 No, no, but, like, what is the general vibe of what it was?

Speaker 1:04:33 It is Google Photos, but it didn't have the launch date.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:35 It just didn't show the launch date.

David Imel 1:04:36 Yeah. Yeah, it's tough to get the launch date.

Speaker 1:04:37 Yeah, it's a tough one.

Andrew Manganelli 1:04:38 Which, what's the different-

Speaker 1:04:39 Okay, next question for Team Coastal Elites.

David Imel 1:04:41 Coastal Elites.

Speaker 1:04:42 Yeah, boy.

Speaker 1:04:42 It's been a big Samsung Galaxy week.

Speaker 1:04:45 Okay.

Speaker 1:04:45 But do you know what the typeface is called that has been used in Samsung marketing since 2015?

David Imel 1:04:50 Over the Horizon.

Speaker 1:04:51 No, no, no.

David Imel 1:04:51 [laughs]

Speaker 1:04:53 Um, okay. He used the word typeface, not font-

Speaker 1:04:55 Exactly

Speaker 1:04:56 ... which gives us big-

David Imel 1:04:56 Yeah

Speaker 1:04:56 ... big ops.

David Imel 1:04:57 Big brains.

Speaker 1:04:58 And we can't say Sams-

David Imel 1:04:59 Oh, we can't, if it's-

Speaker 1:05:00 No, we can't say Samsung, but we can say... Did, did you say phone?

Speaker 1:05:05 I did not say phone.

Speaker 1:05:06 But it's, like, Samsung marketing stuff?

Speaker 1:05:08 It's Samsung marketing since 2015. I said Samsung Galaxy and marketing.

Speaker 1:05:12 Like, like-

David Imel 1:05:13 So-

Speaker 1:05:13 ... Korean something font

David Imel 1:05:18 ... you can't say Samsung?

Speaker 1:05:18 It has to be, like-

Speaker 1:05:18 You cannot say Samsung. Uh, like Korean font?

Andrew Manganelli 1:05:22 We have to use three words? We can't do four words?

Speaker 1:05:24 That is the rules of the game.

Speaker 1:05:26 That'd be perfect. That's a perfect phrase.

David Imel 1:05:26 Brand.

Speaker 1:05:28 What's the... Do we say Galaxy?

David Imel 1:05:30 No.

Speaker 1:05:30 No, that's in the question.

Speaker 1:05:31 Can we say... Oh.

David Imel 1:05:32 [laughs] What is... Okay, what about other... What, do they have non-Galaxy phones?

Speaker 1:05:39 No.

David Imel 1:05:40 I need an answer.

Speaker 1:05:41 I think we should do Korean-

David Imel 1:05:42 Korean phone font?

Speaker 1:05:43 Yeah. That's all I got.

David Imel 1:05:45 Korean-

Andrew Manganelli 1:05:45 I hope it's LG. So bad.

David Imel 1:05:46 [laughs] Korean phone font? Is that-

Speaker 1:05:48 Korean phone font.

David Imel 1:05:49 Yeah. I was gonna say, like, S22 ad font.

Speaker 1:05:52 Oh, yeah. We could've said, like, S22.

Speaker 1:05:55 That wasn't big brain.

David Imel 1:05:57 Yeah. Wait, that's-

Speaker 1:05:58 Nope, it's not there.

David Imel 1:05:59 Hm.

Speaker 1:05:59 Sorry, guys.

Speaker 1:06:00 What did come up?

Speaker 1:06:01 What did come up was-

David Imel 1:06:03 These are harder

Speaker 1:06:04 ... like, the fonts came up. It was just not this one that we're looking for.

David Imel 1:06:07 Which font?

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:07 What's the answer, by the way?

Speaker 1:06:08 The answer is Samsung-

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:10 Chobani

Speaker 1:06:10 ... Sharp Sans.

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:11 Of course they have their own font.

David Imel 1:06:12 Sharp Sans?

Speaker 1:06:13 Sharp, Sharp Sans. Also, I don't know if I said the answer to the Google Photos one. It was 2015, May of 2015.

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:19 Oh.

David Imel 1:06:19 May what?

Speaker 1:06:20 May 28th, 2015.

David Imel 1:06:21 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:06:22 Yeah.

Speaker 1:06:23 But it was Samsung Sharp Sans, is what I was looking for.

David Imel 1:06:25 I'm gonna put that in my calendar. Google Photos' birthday.

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:28 [laughs] Would you like to wish them a happy birthday?

David Imel 1:06:31 [laughs]

Speaker 1:06:31 Dude.

Speaker 1:06:32 Next question.

David Imel 1:06:32 Anyway.

Speaker 1:06:33 This is for Team Lawn Sports.

David Imel 1:06:34 Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:06:35 What website at one point hosted the popular MMO Club Penguin?

David Imel 1:06:40 [laughs] MMO.

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:42 Not Miniclip?

Speaker 1:06:43 Where we did, we did squirrels-

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:44 Was it Miniclip?

David Imel 1:06:45 Maybe not Miniclip.

Speaker 1:06:45 Yeah, we did.

David Imel 1:06:46 Okay, so-

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:47 Oh, I can't

David Imel 1:06:47 ... we can't say Club Penguin.

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:48 It's funny to think of Club Penguin as an MMO. [laughs]

David Imel 1:06:50 How do we get Club Penguin without saying Club Penguin?

Andrew Manganelli 1:06:53 Um, Arc- Arctic Bird.

David Imel 1:06:58 Team Game.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:00 Uh-

David Imel 1:07:00 Arctic Bird Game?

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:01 Oh, yeah. Arctic Bird Game might work. Maybe, or-

Speaker 1:07:03 I'm looking for the website that hosted it.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:05 I know, but-

Speaker 1:07:05 I think it would show us

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:06 ... usually if you list it, it'll show when it went on-

Speaker 1:07:08 Okay. Let me go show it

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:08 ... and it's, like, quick. So-

David Imel 1:07:09 So Arctic Bird Game.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:11 Flightless Bird Game. [laughs]

David Imel 1:07:14 Flightless Bird-

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:14 There's no other, there's no other way to get penguin without Flightless Bird?

David Imel 1:07:16 How else do you spell... Yeah, I don't think so.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:19 Emperor.

David Imel 1:07:20 Hm. Emperor. [laughs] I guess it's Arctic Bird Game.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:23 Emperor Penguin. [laughs] Arctic Bird Game, or Arctic Bird... Is, what's the different word for club?

David Imel 1:07:28 I need an answer. Arctic Bird Game. Yeah.

Speaker 1:07:31 Arctic Bird Game?

David Imel 1:07:32 Don't they live in the Antarctic?

Speaker 1:07:34 Not the Arctic?

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:35 Same thing.

Speaker 1:07:36 It's not. [laughs]

Speaker 1:07:36 I think it would be.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:38 I think, I think we got it.

Speaker 1:07:39 It's not. [laughs]

Speaker 1:07:40 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:40 In Google you can type in song that goes, "Ba da ba ba ba dum," and it'll pick it up, so I think-

Speaker 1:07:44 And Arctic Bird Game

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:44 ... Arctic Bird Game.

Speaker 1:07:45 Sorry, it's not there.

Speaker 1:07:47 Arctic Birds.

Speaker 1:07:47 Turns out there's a lot of Arctic penguin games.

Speaker 1:07:49 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:49 Yeah, but none of them are Club Penguin.

Speaker 1:07:51 Damn. Is the answer Miniclip?

Speaker 1:07:52 The answer is Miniclip games.

Speaker 1:07:54 It is. Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:07:55 Was it really a Miniclip game?

Speaker 1:07:55 I thought it was.

Speaker 1:07:57 It wasn't a Miniclip game, but they were one of the only non-first party sites to host it.

Speaker 1:08:01 Hm.

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:01 It's so funny to think-

Speaker 1:08:02 I should've stuck with that

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:03 ... Club Penguin as an app.

Speaker 1:08:04 Yeah, we would've had to get...

Speaker 1:08:05 Well, that was a question that I think Team Coastal Elites would've gotten, but I asked it to Team Lawn Sports.

Speaker 1:08:12 Same.

Speaker 1:08:12 So now I'm gonna ask Team Coastal Elites a question that I think Team Lawn Sports would've gotten-

Speaker 1:08:17 Oh, no

Speaker 1:08:17 ... which is the first Keychron keyboard was released in what year?

Speaker 1:08:22 Uh, okay. Keychron. What do I know about Keychron?

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:26 I have no idea.

Speaker 1:08:26 Popular keyboard-

Speaker 1:08:28 No, we gotta be more specific

Speaker 1:08:29 ... releases.

Speaker 1:08:31 [coughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:31 Bless you

Speaker 1:08:32 But Keychron is, like, one of the more popular keyboard-

Speaker 1:08:34 I want, I want-

Speaker 1:08:35 Right? [laughs]

Speaker 1:08:35 ... AI Overview to list all the dates that all the popular-

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:38 Bless you

Speaker 1:08:38 ... keyboards came out. So, like, maybe like-

Speaker 1:08:41 Release date keyboard. Keyboard release date

Speaker 1:08:43 How about release keyboard chronology?

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:47 Are you expanding-

Speaker 1:08:48 I think that might... Yes

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:49 ... on AI Overview when you-

Speaker 1:08:50 You think chron would be enough?

Andrew Manganelli 1:08:52 Mm.

Speaker 1:08:52 Well, I think chronology will get AI Overview to just list all the big brands. Popular keyboard chronology.

Speaker 1:08:58 Popular keyboard chronology.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:00 I'm-

Speaker 1:09:00 Popular keyboard

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:02 ... I'm interested in that. I don't know what I would-

Speaker 1:09:05 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:06 ... ask. Uh, or I would try and guess what the first keyboard was.

Speaker 1:09:10 Although it's probably gonna be-

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:11 Because it's like-

Speaker 1:09:12 ... the Apple II keyboard.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:14 Yeah, sorry, it's not there. It's giving us a bunch of, like, typewriters-

Speaker 1:09:17 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:17 ... and different computers and-

Speaker 1:09:18 I would-

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:18 ... IBM keyboards

Speaker 1:09:19 ... try and guess what the first Keychron was, which is probably, like, the K1-

Speaker 1:09:24 Don't overthink it

Speaker 1:09:24 ... or something.

Speaker 1:09:25 Like K1.

Speaker 1:09:26 K1.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:27 Yeah.

Speaker 1:09:27 You were on the right, right track.

Speaker 1:09:28 Hm. Yep.

Speaker 1:09:29 Oh, so we probably could have typed K1 release date.

Speaker 1:09:31 We would've had to figure it out, but-

Speaker 1:09:31 I specifically left it open so you guys might if you knew, but yeah.

Speaker 1:09:35 Hm.

Speaker 1:09:35 K1 2017.

Speaker 1:09:36 Damn. 2017.

Speaker 1:09:37 2017.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:38 2017.

Speaker 1:09:39 That's actually... Yeah, okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:40 So it's still one zero?

Speaker 1:09:42 Yes.

Speaker 1:09:42 Yes, one-zero.

Speaker 1:09:42 It's one-one.

Speaker 1:09:43 You guys... Didn't they... Did they not get that one?

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:44 No, we got a point.

Speaker 1:09:45 No.

Speaker 1:09:45 We got... No, we got a point.

Speaker 1:09:47 Yeah, we get a point.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:47 Yeah. It's funny, I felt like in Trivio we got most of them right.

Speaker 1:09:51 Yeah, this is harder.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:52 These are harder ones.

Speaker 1:09:52 These are harder ones. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:52 Okay.

Speaker 1:09:53 Yeah.

Speaker 1:09:53 For sure. Okay, next question. This is going to Team Coastal Elites.

Speaker 1:09:57 Lawn Sports.

Andrew Manganelli 1:09:58 No, Lawn Sports.

Speaker 1:09:59 Team Lawn Sports. Next question.

Speaker 1:10:00 [laughs] We'll take it.

Speaker 1:10:01 The Galaxy, the Samsung Galaxy S3 launched with what version of Android?

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:07 Oh.

Speaker 1:10:08 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:08 So just all Android versions.

Speaker 1:10:10 Google dessert list.

Speaker 1:10:13 Is that it?

Speaker 1:10:13 I think that will name all the versions.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:15 Is that not what they did in the first one where they got the point?

Speaker 1:10:17 Is that the exact same phrase we used?

Speaker 1:10:18 Uh, we did phone dessert list. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:21 Google dessert list would be better. Yeah.

Speaker 1:10:22 I mean, Google dessert list is gonna work if we're allowed to use Google.

Speaker 1:10:25 I created a meta.

Speaker 1:10:26 Yeah. Let's go with Google dessert list.

Speaker 1:10:28 Google dessert list.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:30 Yeah.

Speaker 1:10:30 Let's see what comes up. Um, let me search.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:35 If this doesn't work, I'm gonna be so mad. [laughs]

Speaker 1:10:36 I hope it just gives you random desserts.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:37 Honestly, with AI Overview, you could type the same thing in twice and it probably would be different.

Speaker 1:10:41 Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1:10:41 You got so lucky. It's there.

Speaker 1:10:43 Really?

Speaker 1:10:44 You got the point. But it is not have anything to do with Google, it's just desserts. [laughs]

Speaker 1:10:50 Oh. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:51 Really?

Speaker 1:10:51 'Cause you Googled dessert lists. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:54 I Googled Google dessert list.

Speaker 1:10:54 You Googled Google dessert list.

Speaker 1:10:55 Yeah, Google dessert list.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:56 No, that's bad.

Speaker 1:10:57 It just gives you a bunch of desserts.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:58 That's bad.

Speaker 1:10:58 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:10:58 Is the answer, like, cupcake or donut or something?

Speaker 1:11:00 The... It's ice cream sandwich.

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:02 And it-

Speaker 1:11:02 And it, there's one reference of ice cream sandwich on this page, but it's like-

Speaker 1:11:05 It's not Android

Speaker 1:11:06 ... gelato, mango sorbet, apple pie, chocolate chip cookie. It just gave you a bunch of desserts. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:11 What?

Speaker 1:11:12 Dang.

Speaker 1:11:12 That's crazy. All right.

Speaker 1:11:13 Damn.

Speaker 1:11:13 Well, I'm glad it worked out, 'cause-

Speaker 1:11:14 Yeah, so you got the point

Speaker 1:11:15 ... we deserve that point.

Speaker 1:11:15 So we're all tied up.

Speaker 1:11:16 Deserve that point.

Speaker 1:11:17 One-one. All right, all right, all right, all right.

Speaker 1:11:19 All right, Team Coastal Elites, here we go. Leica launched the phone in 2021 that was exclusive to which country?

Speaker 1:11:26 Huh?

Speaker 1:11:27 China.

Speaker 1:11:28 No. Really?

Speaker 1:11:29 Yeah.

Speaker 1:11:30 Do you know this?

Speaker 1:11:31 Um.

Speaker 1:11:32 The, um... Nah, [censored] it, David.

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:35 Yeah.

Speaker 1:11:35 List all countries.

Speaker 1:11:36 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:37 [laughs]

Speaker 1:11:40 How about-

Speaker 1:11:41 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:42 [laughs]

Speaker 1:11:44 What about-

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:44 From way downtown. [laughs]

Speaker 1:11:46 [laughs] With no regard for human life.

Speaker 1:11:50 So we can't say country?

Speaker 1:11:52 Oh.

Speaker 1:11:53 Uh, no you cannot.

Speaker 1:11:54 So it's China. So-

Andrew Manganelli 1:11:55 So just list all, that's all they get? [laughs]

Speaker 1:11:57 [laughs]

Speaker 1:11:58 So do you want to s- should we say, like, exclus- global AI superpower or open-

Speaker 1:12:03 Glo- uh-

Speaker 1:12:04 Uh-

Speaker 1:12:05 ... damn. We can't say China

Speaker 1:12:06 ... communist republic.

Speaker 1:12:07 I'll give you a hint. It's not China.

Speaker 1:12:09 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:10 Whoa.

Speaker 1:12:11 Was it Germany?

Speaker 1:12:12 No, it has to be Italy.

Speaker 1:12:14 Italy? No, it's not Italy. Why would it be Italy?

Speaker 1:12:16 'Cause I feel like they're the only ones that appreciate such a thing.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:18 [laughs]

Speaker 1:12:19 It's a sh- it was-

Speaker 1:12:20 A bad phone with a good camera.

Speaker 1:12:21 It was a-

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:21 [laughs]

Speaker 1:12:21 It did not have a good camera, and it was a really bad phone.

Speaker 1:12:24 You remember this?

Speaker 1:12:25 Yes.

Speaker 1:12:25 Okay. I think we gotta-

Speaker 1:12:26 I used it

Speaker 1:12:26 ... I think we gotta, we gotta, I think we gotta take this back.

Speaker 1:12:28 Yeah, we need an answer.

Speaker 1:12:29 I think, uh-

Speaker 1:12:29 So it's not China.

Speaker 1:12:30 It's, like, a pho-

Speaker 1:12:32 It was made by-

Speaker 1:12:33 ... a camera, camera brand. Camera expensive phone. Camera brand, phone.

Speaker 1:12:37 Oh, camera... But it has to be the country we're looking for.

Speaker 1:12:40 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:40 Ah.

Speaker 1:12:41 Camera... We can't say Leica.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:44 Three.

Speaker 1:12:45 Camera phone exclusive.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:46 Two.

Speaker 1:12:46 Uh, list all phones.

Speaker 1:12:47 One. C- camera phone country. Camera phone country.

Speaker 1:12:50 I don't... We can't say country.

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:51 Can't say country.

Speaker 1:12:51 Camera phone exclusive. Exclusive.

Speaker 1:12:53 Exclusive.

Speaker 1:12:55 That's gonna be a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1:12:56 Yeah, let's see if this, uh-

Speaker 1:12:57 Yeah

Speaker 1:12:57 ... if this comes up.

Speaker 1:12:58 If that comes up-

Andrew Manganelli 1:12:59 Wait, I used this phone.

Speaker 1:13:00 Camera phone... Nope.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:01 Was it really Germany only?

Speaker 1:13:02 It's not there. No, it was Japan.

Speaker 1:13:04 Japan.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:05 That is actually what I was gonna say.

Speaker 1:13:06 Oh, yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:06 Total guess.

Speaker 1:13:08 It was Japan. It was Japan. They do like Leica there. Damn. It was... What was the company that made the phone? It was, like, IOQ or whatever it was.

Speaker 1:13:16 Um, it was-

Speaker 1:13:17 It was so bad. It was s- The, the vibration motor was literally the worst thing I've ever touched.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:22 It was the Lights Phone 1-

Speaker 1:13:24 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:24 ... and it was made with Sharp.

Speaker 1:13:24 Made by Sharp.

Speaker 1:13:25 Oh.

Speaker 1:13:25 Sharp, Sharp, Sharp.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:27 Light Phone?

Speaker 1:13:27 Lights.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:28 Oh.

Speaker 1:13:28 [laughs] Yeah, it was, like, the Aq-

Speaker 1:13:30 Let's see.

Speaker 1:13:30 Yeah, it was, like, an Aquos.

Speaker 1:13:31 Yeah, it was an Aquos R6 basically.

Speaker 1:13:33 It was so bad. The vibration motor was so bad

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:37 I remember then.

Marques Brownlee 1:13:37 The new Leica phone's really good though.

Speaker 1:13:38 I thought you would remember the name, so that's why I made that so hard.

Marques Brownlee 1:13:41 Oh.

Speaker 1:13:41 All right, next question.

Marques Brownlee 1:13:42 Wow.

Speaker 1:13:43 This one's a very easy one, but let's see if you guys get it.

Marques Brownlee 1:13:45 Oh, come on.

Speaker 1:13:47 Microsoft launched a browser in 1995 that let you explore the internet. What was it called?

Marques Brownlee 1:13:53 Arc.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:55 In 1995?

Marques Brownlee 1:13:56 Yeah.

Speaker 1:13:56 So you can't use Microsoft browser in this one.

Speaker 1:13:58 So you can't use the words Explorer.

Andrew Manganelli 1:13:59 Windows default internet?

Speaker 1:14:02 No, you can't use internet.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:02 You can't use browser.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:04 Oh, we can't use internet.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:05 Can you say XP default browser?

Speaker 1:14:07 You can't say browser. You cannot say browser.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:09 XP default internet?

Speaker 1:14:11 You cannot say internet.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:13 You can't? Oh, okay.

Speaker 1:14:14 'Cause that's part of the question and the answer.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:16 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:16 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:16 XP default, uh-

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:20 What's another word for that? [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:14:22 Uh, websites.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:23 Say browser. It's easy, but if you take away-

Marques Brownlee 1:14:25 Exactly

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:25 ... all of our words.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:27 [laughs] Can you say XP default Firefox-

Speaker 1:14:28 Oh, wait, wait

Marques Brownlee 1:14:29 ... and it'll still count?

Speaker 1:14:29 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:30 Windows Blue E. 'Cause that's-

Marques Brownlee 1:14:34 Can we say Windows?

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:35 We can say Windows, right?

Speaker 1:14:37 Uh, you can say Windows. Is that it? Are you going with that?

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:39 Right?

Marques Brownlee 1:14:40 Windows blue logo.

Speaker 1:14:42 I hope you get Edge, bro.

Speaker 1:14:44 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:44 Blue icon.

Speaker 1:14:45 I hope it just gives you F.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:46 [laughs] Hell yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:46 Or XP blue icon, then-

Marques Brownlee 1:14:48 You wanna historic Windows

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:48 ... if you wanna make sure-

Marques Brownlee 1:14:49 Yeah, XP.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:50 XP blue icon.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:53 Sure.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:53 Or X- or Windows E icon.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:56 I think XP.

Andrew Manganelli 1:14:57 Or S- or sorry, XP E icon.

Marques Brownlee 1:14:59 Why?

Speaker 1:14:59 That one.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:01 XP E icon.

Speaker 1:15:03 XP E icon.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:05 That was hard because they took away all of our words.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:07 Yeah.

Speaker 1:15:08 Yeah, it's not there.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:09 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:09 It's not there?

Marques Brownlee 1:15:10 I was gonna say, like-

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:11 Can you do XP-

Marques Brownlee 1:15:12 ... Windows-

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:12 ... blue icon?

Marques Brownlee 1:15:13 ... Search, Windows Search app, or old Win- old Windows Search.

Speaker 1:15:18 We just have to get Internet Explorer to come up somehow.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:20 They didn't have Bing back then, so.

Speaker 1:15:22 What if you just said Microsoft Edge meme?

Marques Brownlee 1:15:25 But it'd be Edge.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:26 Oh, I guess-

Marques Brownlee 1:15:27 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:27 Old Microsoft Edge.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:28 That probably would've worked.

Speaker 1:15:28 Old Microsoft Edge.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:30 Yeah.

Speaker 1:15:30 Windows before Edge.

Speaker 1:15:31 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:15:32 Microsoft Edge versus.

Speaker 1:15:33 Yeah, Windows before Edge.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:34 Yeah.

Speaker 1:15:35 Wow.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:35 [laughs] Worst-

Speaker 1:15:36 Wow

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:37 ... oh, you can't say internet or browser.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:38 Yeah.

Speaker 1:15:39 All right, David, this is our second point. I can feel it. It's brewing.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:41 I can feel it. We're, we're in the background.

Speaker 1:15:42 All right, here we go. We're still tied one-one by the way. I'm gonna [laughs] have to come up with more questions.

Andrew Manganelli 1:15:48 Yeah. [laughs]

Speaker 1:15:49 Back in the day-

Marques Brownlee 1:15:50 Amazing

Speaker 1:15:51 ... Garmin made GPS things for your car.

Marques Brownlee 1:15:53 Oh.

Speaker 1:15:54 But what was the first watch they released?

Marques Brownlee 1:15:58 Do you know the answer?

Speaker 1:16:00 I feel like I was researching this-

Marques Brownlee 1:16:01 Was it the Fenix?

Speaker 1:16:02 ... for a purchase.

Speaker 1:16:02 I think this has been a trivia question.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:04 Is it the Fenix?

Speaker 1:16:06 I don't know.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:06 Or was it the, like, Garmin, the one with the Q?

Speaker 1:16:09 Dude, uh, we can't say watch though, right?

Speaker 1:16:11 Nope.

Speaker 1:16:12 Can we just say, like, first... Oh, we can't say first either.

Speaker 1:16:14 [laughs] Nope.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:16 We can't say first?

Speaker 1:16:17 No, it's a good question.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:18 Original-

Speaker 1:16:19 Debut GPS wrist

Marques Brownlee 1:16:21 ... debut, uh, adventure time.

Speaker 1:16:29 No.

Speaker 1:16:29 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:16:30 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:16:30 [laughs]

Speaker 1:16:31 That's a show.

Speaker 1:16:31 Yes, please do that one.

Andrew Manganelli 1:16:32 That's a show. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:16:33 That's not gonna work.

Speaker 1:16:34 No.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:35 I mean, you should 'cause it'd be really fun.

Speaker 1:16:36 Debut, I think you should go with debut GPS wrist.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:41 But did it have GPS?

Speaker 1:16:42 It, it has to.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:43 Are you sure?

Speaker 1:16:43 That's their whole thing.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:45 Debut adventure wrist?

Speaker 1:16:47 GPS.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:48 I don't know.

Speaker 1:16:49 Is, is that where we're going?

Speaker 1:16:50 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:50 Fitness wrist?

Speaker 1:16:51 I don't think I have a fitness watch.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:52 GP- you think they were the first GPS? Yeah, okay. Debut GPS.

Speaker 1:16:55 It's Garmin, right?

Marques Brownlee 1:16:55 Okay, look.

Speaker 1:16:56 What else do they do?

Speaker 1:16:57 Debut GP- debut GPS wrist.

Marques Brownlee 1:16:59 All right. Sure. This is, like, if we were terrible at googling things.

Speaker 1:17:03 Yeah. It's like toddler SEO. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:06 It is tough not being able to use either set of words.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:09 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:17:09 I'll give it to you. Forerunner is there. It was the Forerunner series. Forerunner 101.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:14 Wow.

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:15 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:15 Let's go. Elites over here.

Speaker 1:17:17 Well, I guess-

Marques Brownlee 1:17:17 Coastal Elites get the point.

Speaker 1:17:19 Wait, wait.

Speaker 1:17:19 Okay.

Speaker 1:17:19 You guys wanna hear a trivia question I threw away this morning?

Marques Brownlee 1:17:21 Oh, yeah. It's really good.

Speaker 1:17:22 It's one of the, it's one of the, the You Not Have Jeopardy, they make you answer with a pun.

Speaker 1:17:25 Mm-hmm.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:25 Mm.

Speaker 1:17:25 Okay. What is the solar and acrobatic version of the new screen-less Garmin?

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:33 Cirque de, the Cirque, uh-

Marques Brownlee 1:17:35 Cirque du Soleil.

Speaker 1:17:36 Cirque du Soleil

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:37 ... Sol- Solar.

Speaker 1:17:38 Soleil. Yeah, Cir-

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:39 I don't know

Speaker 1:17:39 ... it's Cirque du Soleil.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:41 Wow.

Speaker 1:17:41 Nice.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:41 That's pretty funny.

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:42 That's pretty good.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:43 That's really funny.

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:43 That would've been good.

Speaker 1:17:44 Oh, good.

Andrew Manganelli 1:17:44 Well, anyway.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:45 I saw the Beatles Love in Cirque du Soleil.

Speaker 1:17:47 You saw what?

Marques Brownlee 1:17:47 The Beatles Love Cirque du Soleil show.

Speaker 1:17:50 How was it?

Marques Brownlee 1:17:52 Really freaking good.

Speaker 1:17:53 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:17:53 But Be- the Beatles was my entire personality at the time.

Speaker 1:17:56 I mean, they were... We've all had that.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:57 'Cause I was a freshman in high school.

Speaker 1:17:59 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:17:59 Yeah.

Speaker 1:17:59 Um, okay. So it is two-one.

Speaker 1:18:02 Yeah, it is.

Speaker 1:18:03 Do we wanna do, like, a sudden death?

Marques Brownlee 1:18:04 The definition of elite is winning.

Speaker 1:18:06 Uh, you can tie or they win.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:08 So-

Speaker 1:18:08 How are we doing this?

Marques Brownlee 1:18:09 Is that, is that-

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:10 Well-

Marques Brownlee 1:18:10 ... our only option?

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:11 If we tie-

Speaker 1:18:12 No, we keep going

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:12 ... if we tie, then I think we should get-

Speaker 1:18:14 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:14 ... then we should keep going.

Speaker 1:18:16 Okay, so this is it. For all the marbles.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:18 All right.

Speaker 1:18:18 Potentially.

Speaker 1:18:19 Potentially.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:19 Potentially.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:20 All right.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:20 Lock in.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:21 I'm locked in.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:22 I'm not, I'm trying to think of-

Marques Brownlee 1:18:23 'Cause it's, I'm picturing the Google search box right in front of me.

Speaker 1:18:25 All right, so this is for the tie for Team Lawn Sports.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:29 Stay alive.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:30 Okay.

Speaker 1:18:31 The first iPhone to launch with MagSafe was what?

Marques Brownlee 1:18:36 iPhone 8.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:37 With MagSafe?

Marques Brownlee 1:18:38 Mm-hmm.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:40 Are you sure about that?

Marques Brownlee 1:18:41 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:41 I don't think it's the iPhone-

Marques Brownlee 1:18:42 The first one with o- oh, wireless charging was the 8. MagSafe was the 12.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:45 Yeah, MagSafe. Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:47 So-

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:48 Apple

Marques Brownlee 1:18:48 ... we can't say iPhone 12. We have to get iPhone 12 to come up.

Speaker 1:18:52 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:18:52 So just say Apple-

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:53 Oh, or here was the Apple phone

Marques Brownlee 1:18:54 ... first Mini-

Speaker 1:18:55 That's what I was gonna say

Marques Brownlee 1:18:56 ... first Mini, uh, Cooper team.

Andrew Manganelli 1:18:59 Um-

Marques Brownlee 1:19:00 I don't know. Some way to get Apple in there.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:01 Apple Mini phone?

Marques Brownlee 1:19:05 Can we say Apple?

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:06 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:07 Mini phone. Oh, yeah, we can say phone, not iPhone.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:11 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:11 Okay. Apple Mini phone.

Speaker 1:19:13 Apple Mini phone?

Marques Brownlee 1:19:13 Yeah.

Speaker 1:19:14 The-

Marques Brownlee 1:19:14 The 13 and 12 Mini should both come up, and then th- that, that counts 'cause the 12 Mini is a 12.

Speaker 1:19:18 You're just looking for the series, right?

Marques Brownlee 1:19:20 Couldn't you just say magnetic wireless charging?

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:23 Mm.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:24 That wouldn't say iPhone 12 necessarily.

Speaker 1:19:26 But MagSafe does not... Dude's right. He's-

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:30 We don't have, need it to say MagSafe, right? We need it to say-

Marques Brownlee 1:19:32 We just need iPhone 12

Speaker 1:19:32 You just need iPhone 12.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:33 iPhone 12.

Speaker 1:19:34 And, uh, it looks like-

Marques Brownlee 1:19:36 But the 12 Mini, is that the 12? Yeah.

Speaker 1:19:38 Yeah. [bell dinging] You guys got the point. It's there.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:40 I think if you guys got 4Runner as default 4Runner, not the specific 4Runner-

Speaker 1:19:45 Yeah, I was-

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:45 ... I'm thinking of

Speaker 1:19:45 ... I'm getting a little broad with these. It's fine.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:47 Should've said Toyota Adventure vehicle.

Speaker 1:19:49 [laughs] Rev4-

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:51 Ah

Speaker 1:19:51 ... Tundra.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:52 4Runner.

Speaker 1:19:53 I know, but there's a lot of adventure vehicles.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:55 Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1:19:56 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:19:56 Yeah. Sure.

Speaker 1:19:57 Nice.

Andrew Manganelli 1:19:57 Wait, why would we have said that?

Speaker 1:19:58 'Cause c-

Marques Brownlee 1:19:59 We're all tied up 2-2

Speaker 1:20:00 ... Toyota 4Runner.

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:01 Oh, 4Runner. Sorry.

Speaker 1:20:02 Or is that separate?

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:03 Different question. No, you're right. You're right.

Speaker 1:20:04 Okay. Toyota.

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:05 We stayed alive.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:06 Stayed alive.

Speaker 1:20:06 So what happens now that we tie?

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:07 So it should be like shootout rules now-

Speaker 1:20:09 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:09 ... where, like-

Speaker 1:20:10 Oh, yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:10 ... Ellis and David go. If they get it right, we have to get it right to stay alive. If Ellis and David go, they get it wrong, and Marques and I get it right, then it's over.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:17 Mm.

Speaker 1:20:17 Oh, my God.

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:18 I like that. I like that.

Speaker 1:20:20 For Team Coastal Elites-

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:22 Yep

Speaker 1:20:22 ... Bluestar is the model code name for which Tesla vehicle?

Marques Brownlee 1:20:27 [suspenseful music] I don't know. Is it the S?

David Imel 1:20:32 Dude, I don't know, which is why I think we should do-

Marques Brownlee 1:20:35 I don't know. [laughs]

David Imel 1:20:36 ... best-selling EVs.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:39 Yeah. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:40 I hope it's the Roadster. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:20:41 I like that.

Speaker 1:20:42 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:20:43 Best-selling EVs.

David Imel 1:20:43 I did not consider this.

Speaker 1:20:44 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:20:45 Or the Cybertruck.

David Imel 1:20:46 Dude, if it's the Roadster... I don't know. I- I don't know. I have no idea what it could be, so.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:51 Yeah, best-selling EVs.

Speaker 1:20:52 Best-selling-

David Imel 1:20:53 No, no, no. List... No. Mm. [laughs] I don't know. Best-selling EVs.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:57 Just give it-

David Imel 1:20:57 I'm joking.

Marques Brownlee 1:20:58 Yeah.

Speaker 1:20:58 Best-selling EVs.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:00 All, all Elon cars.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:01 Just input the Jacobian conjecture, see what comes up.

David Imel 1:21:03 All Elon cars. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:21:04 [laughs] All Elon cars. [bell dinging]

Speaker 1:21:08 You get the point.

David Imel 1:21:08 Let's go.

Speaker 1:21:08 It was the Tesla Model 3, and that's where it was.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:11 Oh, my God.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:11 Oh, it was S3XY.

Speaker 1:21:13 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:13 I guess that's how it would've worked too.

Speaker 1:21:13 That would've worked.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:14 Wow.

Speaker 1:21:15 Wow. Okay, so they live to-

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:17 The 3 was labeled-

Speaker 1:21:17 ... future trivia another day

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:18 ... Blues- what? It's called Bluestar?

Marques Brownlee 1:21:19 Bluestar.

David Imel 1:21:20 Bluestar.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:20 Huh. I never heard of that.

Speaker 1:21:22 Me neither.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:23 It's pretty cool.

David Imel 1:21:23 Yeah, Toyotas.

Speaker 1:21:24 All right. Team Lawn Sports, you can either tie it-

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:28 That's a lot of pressure

Speaker 1:21:29 ... or-

Marques Brownlee 1:21:30 Or give it away

Speaker 1:21:31 ... give it away.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:31 It's stay alive or tie.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:33 Die.

Speaker 1:21:33 Yeah, this is it. In 2009, Google announced a project-

Marques Brownlee 1:21:36 [laughs]

Speaker 1:21:37 ... that was their desktop operating system which allowed them to primarily run web-based apps.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:42 Chrome OS.

Speaker 1:21:43 What was it called?

Marques Brownlee 1:21:43 [suspenseful music] Oh, this is easy. Okay. We gotta th- get it to say Chrome OS.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:48 Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:49 Uh, and the way you do that is by-

Speaker 1:21:50 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:21:51 ... getting a Chromebook.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:52 Chromebook.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:52 Chromebook.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:53 We can't say operating system though, right?

Marques Brownlee 1:21:55 Chromebook version.

Andrew Manganelli 1:21:56 Chromebook OS.

Marques Brownlee 1:21:59 Also, if you get Cr48, it has to say Chrome OS.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:05 Cr48.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:06 I mean, that's all. You could just say Cr48 software, and it would come up. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:10 Are you that confident-

Marques Brownlee 1:22:11 Yeah

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:11 ... we'll go with two?

Marques Brownlee 1:22:12 Two words.

Speaker 1:22:13 With two words?

Marques Brownlee 1:22:13 Only need two words: Cr48 software.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:15 I hope it's Chrome OS.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:17 It's definitely Chrome OS. If that doesn't come up, I would be-

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:20 'Cause I-

Marques Brownlee 1:22:20 ... pretty shocked

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:20 ... I would've thought if Google killed some operating system before Chrome OS.

David Imel 1:22:24 What if it only comes up with the limited edition Google breakfast cereal?

Marques Brownlee 1:22:27 [laughs]

David Imel 1:22:28 Chrome OS.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:29 [laughs] Chrome OS.

Speaker 1:22:30 Chrome OS. [bell dinging] Chrome OS is there right on the first page.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:32 Chrome crispy treats.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:33 Dang.

Speaker 1:22:33 Nice.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:34 Nice.

Speaker 1:22:34 All right.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:34 Beautiful.

Speaker 1:22:36 Giving it back to team-

Marques Brownlee 1:22:37 All right

Speaker 1:22:38 ... Coastal Elites.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:39 We should get a bonus for only doing two words.

Speaker 1:22:41 [laughs]

David Imel 1:22:41 I think we should win.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:42 So this is to me and Ellis again?

Speaker 1:22:45 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:45 Okay.

David Imel 1:22:45 This is for the win.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:47 FTW.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:47 Not yet.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:48 Unless we also cook. Unless they cook.

David Imel 1:22:49 This is for the opportunity to win.

Andrew Manganelli 1:22:51 Yes.

Speaker 1:22:51 Exactly.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:52 All we do is-

Speaker 1:22:53 All right

Marques Brownlee 1:22:53 ... potentially win, no matter what.

Speaker 1:22:55 We're still tied up 3-3.

David Imel 1:22:57 3-3.

Marques Brownlee 1:22:58 3-3.

Speaker 1:22:58 Team Coastal Elites, here's your question.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:00 Oh, man.

Speaker 1:23:01 What app was purchased by Meta in 2012 for $1 billion?

Marques Brownlee 1:23:05 Instagram.

David Imel 1:23:06 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:06 So TikTok alterni-

David Imel 1:23:08 No. No. No

Marques Brownlee 1:23:08 ... po- popular TikTok alternative.

David Imel 1:23:10 No. No. No. Photo... Uh, we can't use app, right?

Marques Brownlee 1:23:13 Popular-

Speaker 1:23:13 Cannot use app.

David Imel 1:23:14 Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:14 No, just popular TikTok alternative. Literally, it'll say Reels. It'll say Instagram Reels.

David Imel 1:23:19 Yeah, you're right.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:20 I guarantee you.

David Imel 1:23:20 You're right.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:21 Popular TikTok-

David Imel 1:23:21 How about biggest Inst- TikTok alternative?

Marques Brownlee 1:23:25 Sure.

David Imel 1:23:26 Whatever. Yeah, you're right. That's-

Marques Brownlee 1:23:27 Just, yeah.

Speaker 1:23:28 I need an answer. David.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:29 Popular TikTok alternative.

Andrew Manganelli 1:23:33 I think it's gonna work, but-

Speaker 1:23:34 You should just say Reels.

Andrew Manganelli 1:23:35 Yeah, you should have just said Reels.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:37 Oh. [laughs]

Speaker 1:23:38 [laughs]

David Imel 1:23:39 Yeah, we should've just-

Marques Brownlee 1:23:39 You... Wait.

Speaker 1:23:40 Yes. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:23:41 I thought, I thought you can't say the answer. Oh.

Speaker 1:23:43 It's not an answer. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:23:44 [laughs]

Speaker 1:23:45 Yeah, y- yeah. [bell dinging] You got it.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:46 Let's go.

Andrew Manganelli 1:23:47 Oh.

Speaker 1:23:47 That would've been so-

Marques Brownlee 1:23:48 Okay

Speaker 1:23:48 ... funny if it didn't.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:49 If that did.

Speaker 1:23:50 All right, for the tie, next question.

Marques Brownlee 1:23:51 Too much time left on the clock.

Speaker 1:23:53 Founders Reggie Brown, Bobby Murphy, and Evan Spiegel made this social media app for sharing messages and pictures. What was it?

Marques Brownlee 1:24:01 Ephemeral photos.

Speaker 1:24:02 Lively.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:02 Pokemon picture game.

Speaker 1:24:04 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:24:06 I thought it was Snapchat. Wait, what is the clue?

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:08 Oh, wait, it has to say... Oh, I was sh- It's not just called S- it's called Snapchat, not Snap.

Marques Brownlee 1:24:12 Yeah, Snapchat.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:13 Okay. Snapchat. Um-

Marques Brownlee 1:24:15 Ef- ephemeral photos.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:16 What's ephemeral?

Marques Brownlee 1:24:17 Disappearing.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:18 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:24:18 Have you ever-

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:19 Why don't we just say disappearing?

Marques Brownlee 1:24:20 Disappearing photos?

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:21 [laughs] Disappearing photos app. We can say app, no?

Speaker 1:24:23 You can't say app.

Marques Brownlee 1:24:24 Self-deleting photos.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:25 Uh, yellow ghost-

Marques Brownlee 1:24:27 Yellow ghost app

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:28 ... icon. Yellow ghost icon.

Marques Brownlee 1:24:30 Yellow ghost icon.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:30 Yellow ghost icon.

Marques Brownlee 1:24:31 Technically-

Speaker 1:24:31 Yellow ghost icon is way better

Marques Brownlee 1:24:34 ... the ghost is white, the, but the background's white.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:35 Yeah, I know, but I think-

Speaker 1:24:36 It's gonna work

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:37 ... it, it should work

Marques Brownlee 1:24:38 ... I know. I know. Keep-

Speaker 1:24:38 We got it. [bell dinging] There it is

Marques Brownlee 1:24:39 ... we keep it freaking rolling.

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:41 This is funny. We got none of them right-

Marques Brownlee 1:24:42 Every time

Andrew Manganelli 1:24:42 ... until crunch time, and now we're- [laughs]

David Imel 1:24:44 No, some of them were

Marques Brownlee 1:24:44 ... every time-

Speaker 1:24:45 So stressful

Marques Brownlee 1:24:45 ... I think we've edged you out

Speaker 1:24:46 ... the clutch gene. Next question. Loot, spelled L-O-O-P-T-

Marques Brownlee 1:24:52 Mm

Speaker 1:24:52 ... was a location-based social media or social networking application developed by one of the founders of OpenAI.

David Imel 1:24:58 Yeah.

Speaker 1:24:58 Which one? Um-

Marques Brownlee 1:24:59 Tim Allen.

David Imel 1:25:00 Uh, listen-

Marques Brownlee 1:25:01 So-

David Imel 1:25:01 ... we could do, like, worst dude ever.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:03 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:03 [laughs]

David Imel 1:25:04 Uh, giant [beep] liar.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:05 How about CEO bigot, uh, CEO-

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:11 Top collar CEO

Marques Brownlee 1:25:12 ... or what about oligarch C-

David Imel 1:25:15 No

Marques Brownlee 1:25:15 ... list of oligarchs?

David Imel 1:25:17 Can we use, can we use the term AI?

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:18 [laughs]

David Imel 1:25:19 [laughs] Sure. Can we use AI?

Speaker 1:25:21 Uh, wait, let me check.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:22 AI CEOs.

David Imel 1:25:23 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:24 Popular AI CEOs.

Speaker 1:25:26 Um, sure. I'll give it to you.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:27 Popular AI CEOs.

Speaker 1:25:28 Is that it?

Marques Brownlee 1:25:29 Yeah.

David Imel 1:25:29 Just, I would just do AI CEOs. We don't even need popular in there.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:32 No, they-

Speaker 1:25:33 They got the point. To tie it up or to lose.

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:35 This is a lot of pressure.

Speaker 1:25:36 So after that correct point, the score is Coastal Elites with five, Team Lawn Sports with four. For the tie-

Marques Brownlee 1:25:43 Make it hard.

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:44 [laughs]

David Imel 1:25:44 Come on

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:44 ... tie

Speaker 1:25:45 ... or for the loss.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:46 Make it hard, Adam

Speaker 1:25:46 ... Apple CEO Tim Cook has a middle name. What is it?

David Imel 1:25:50 Whoa.

Marques Brownlee 1:25:51 Oh. [laughs] I have no clue what it is.

Speaker 1:25:53 Apple Sweetie.

Andrew Manganelli 1:25:54 What, what'd you say? Apple CEO Tim Cook-

Speaker 1:25:57 Has a middle name

Marques Brownlee 1:25:58 And what is it?

Speaker 1:25:59 Dude, what if his middle name was Apple Watch?

Marques Brownlee 1:26:00 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:02 [laughs]

Speaker 1:26:03 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:03 How do we get the Apple-

Marques Brownlee 1:26:04 Can't

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:04 ... how do we just get it to say Tim Cook middle name?

Marques Brownlee 1:26:07 Tech CEO middle name.

Speaker 1:26:07 Technically, his middle name-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:08 Wait, we can't even say middle name?

Marques Brownlee 1:26:09 We cannot.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:09 This is impossible.

Speaker 1:26:11 His middle name is-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:11 If we don't know exact what-

Speaker 1:26:12 His middle name is Apple.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:13 Tech executive middle names

Speaker 1:26:13 ... it's an apple. It's Tim Apple Cook. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:15 [laughs]

Speaker 1:26:15 Top 500 boys names. Oh, that's-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:18 Um-

Marques Brownlee 1:26:19 Don't give them ideas.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:20 Um-

Speaker 1:26:21 [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:22 There's so many words we can't use for this

Marques Brownlee 1:26:24 Tim Apple Cook.

Speaker 1:26:26 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:26 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:26:27 Oh, that's, I used four words. I said tech executive middle names, but you, you can't say, that's two words for CEO.

Speaker 1:26:32 This is-

Marques Brownlee 1:26:32 Or you just can't say CEO.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:33 I guess we use full name. Oh, we can't say name.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:36 Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:37 There's-

Marques Brownlee 1:26:38 Whoa, we can't say name.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:39 This is an impossible question.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:40 If you can't say name-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:41 Unless we know it

Marques Brownlee 1:26:41 ... that's pretty tough.

Speaker 1:26:42 Ellis-

Marques Brownlee 1:26:43 'Cause we can't say full name, middle name.

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:44 Oh, okay, wait.

Speaker 1:26:46 What is it?

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:47 Popular men's names.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:49 What if you just Google Tim Cook and it just-

Speaker 1:26:51 I think we can just name-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:51 We can't say Tim Cook.

Speaker 1:26:52 We can't say Tim Cook.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:52 Can you just not say name either?

Speaker 1:26:54 Um-

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:54 We can't say name?

Speaker 1:26:55 No, you cannot say name 'cause it's in the question.

Marques Brownlee 1:26:57 Yeah.

Speaker 1:26:58 Oh, and you can't say Apple or CEO. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:26:59 This is impossible.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:01 [laughs] Yeah, is there a-

Speaker 1:27:02 I'll give you extra time 'cause it's hard.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:03 Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:03 Is there a, a possible correct answer to this?

Speaker 1:27:05 There is.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:06 Uh-

Speaker 1:27:06 I, I think-

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:07 I mean, yeah, it's his middle name.

Speaker 1:27:08 Three-word phrase.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:08 [laughs] It's just his middle name.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:10 Well, yeah, I guess I don't know what his middle name is. It would really help if I knew what his middle name was.

Speaker 1:27:13 It would really help if you knew what his middle name was.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:14 Is it like, if it was like-

Speaker 1:27:16 I, I would like the opportunity to steal. Ooh.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:19 Wait, for what?

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:19 Oh, yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:20 We're ahead.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:20 We're behind anyway.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:21 We're ahead.

Speaker 1:27:22 So I wanna see-

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:22 What's, what's another word for name?

Marques Brownlee 1:27:25 Surname, given name.

Speaker 1:27:26 I wanna give you guys a hint, but I also want this game to end.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:29 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:27:32 How about we give up, but then you give us a hint-

Speaker 1:27:34 Titles

Marques Brownlee 1:27:34 ... and then we can get it right-

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:35 Oh

Marques Brownlee 1:27:35 ... but we don't win.

Speaker 1:27:36 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:37 Well, uh, we should guess.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:39 I-

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:39 There's a solid chance-

Speaker 1:27:40 Are you gonna forfeit the game?

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:40 ... if it's just like-

Marques Brownlee 1:27:41 Okay, we can guess a ri- we'll guess, um-

Andrew Manganelli 1:27:46 We just need a list of names.

Marques Brownlee 1:27:47 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:01 This would be so much easier-

Marques Brownlee 1:28:01 Or baby or middle

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:02 ... if you knew the name

Speaker 1:28:03 ... you need his, like, full, like his-

Marques Brownlee 1:28:04 Agreed

Speaker 1:28:04 ... Wikipedia page to pop up, right? So it's like, what if it was like-

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:07 Dude

Marques Brownlee 1:28:09 Stop giving them-

Speaker 1:28:10 Ellis really wants this game-

Marques Brownlee 1:28:11 Stop

Speaker 1:28:11 ... to go for another two hours.

Marques Brownlee 1:28:12 Stop, Ellis.

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:13 [laughs]

Speaker 1:28:38 Oh, my God.

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:38 Do you think that the, do you think that the executive page on apple.com says who, that says all the executives' names?

Marques Brownlee 1:28:44 I don't think so.

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:44 They don't even list their RAM in the iPhone. Why would they say his middle name?

Marques Brownlee 1:28:47 [laughs] You don't think, um-

Speaker 1:28:48 Do you guys want the hint?

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:50 I want to try.

Marques Brownlee 1:28:50 To, like, stay in the game.

Speaker 1:28:52 Or do you wanna just, like, call it?

Marques Brownlee 1:28:53 Let's take the hint.

Speaker 1:28:54 Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:28:55 Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:28:55 Wait, wait. Do we lo- we lose if we take the hint?

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:06 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:29:06 You can't say middle or name.

Speaker 1:29:07 Wait, so you're taking the hint?

Speaker 1:29:24 Mobile, Alabama.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:25 Is he from Alabama?

Marques Brownlee 1:29:25 He's from Alabama.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:26 I thought he's from Alabama. Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:27 Isn't Alabama the Midwest?

Speaker 1:29:28 Absolutely.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:28 No. [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:29:29 Yes.

Speaker 1:29:29 The South.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:30 It's definitely the Midwest.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:31 Okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:32 [laughs]

Speaker 1:29:33 Alabama's an F1 driver.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:34 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:29:36 [laughs]

Speaker 1:29:37 Okay, let's get, let's take the hint.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:38 Is, okay.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:39 Is that-

Speaker 1:29:39 The hint is he shares this name with the President of the United States. It's his first name.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:47 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:48 It's his first name? Oh.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:50 Okay, so Trump.

Marques Brownlee 1:29:52 [laughs] No, I was just doing, like-

Speaker 1:29:54 Trump's middle name. [laughs]

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:54 I'm just, I-

Marques Brownlee 1:29:54 Five-

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:55 ... I'm saying Google Trump

Marques Brownlee 1:29:55 ... biblical names.

Speaker 1:29:56 Oh, I see.

Andrew Manganelli 1:29:57 Biblical. I can't say, can I say names?

Marques Brownlee 1:29:59 No.

Speaker 1:30:00 I don't think that's a-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:00 'Cause he said middle name

Speaker 1:30:01 ... biblical name.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:02 Trump-

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:02 Is that his middle name? That's his-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:04 Is his middle name Donald?

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:05 I, I know it's J.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:06 No.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:06 No, Donald Trump's middle name-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:07 It's your first name of the president.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:09 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:09 Yes.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:10 Oh, never mind. That is not a biblical name. N- none, unless he has something to do with-

Speaker 1:30:14 I cl- I ruled Trump out

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:15 ... oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:15 Duck.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:15 Oh, President-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:17 Duck

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:17 ... of US.

Speaker 1:30:18 Hold on. I have, I have another guess.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:19 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:30:20 If you just Google Trump-

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:21 This-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:21 ... it'll come up, but I don't want it to be that easy.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:23 Yeah, that's too easy. We can just lose. That's fine.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:25 Now it's too easy.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:26 Oh, hold on. Do this. Since I said it before, just do popular boy babies, and if that works, then we stay in.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:31 Okay.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:32 I mean, we're-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:33 Try it

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:33 ... we lose either way, right?

Marques Brownlee 1:30:34 Try it. Yeah.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:34 Yeah.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:34 Try it. Try it.

Speaker 1:30:34 All right. Popular boy babies.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:36 That's not coming up. Donald's not coming up.

Speaker 1:30:38 Do you need just the word Donald-

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:39 Oh

Speaker 1:30:39 ... to come out, or do you need... Oh, dude, just do, like, duck cartoon guy.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:43 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:30:43 Daffy.

Speaker 1:30:43 That's what I was thinking before.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:44 I didn't know what it was.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:45 Daffy's the girl, though.

Speaker 1:30:46 Donald's not there.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:47 No, it's not.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:47 That's a fairy tale.

Speaker 1:30:48 All right. All right.

Marques Brownlee 1:30:49 We lost. We, we did not know his middle name.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:50 Popular boy babies.

Speaker 1:30:51 Well, that means that the winner is-

Marques Brownlee 1:30:54 Team Coastal Elites

Speaker 1:30:55 ... the Philadelphia 76. Oh, yeah, that.

Andrew Manganelli 1:30:56 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:30:57 Congrats. Congratulations to the Coastal Elites. You, you get this one.

Speaker 1:31:01 Once again.

Marques Brownlee 1:31:02 Um, unfortunately-

Speaker 1:31:03 Coastal Elites stay winning

Marques Brownlee 1:31:04 ... unfortunately, there are no real points associated with that one.

Speaker 1:31:07 Oh.

Marques Brownlee 1:31:07 You know what there are real points associated with, though?

Speaker 1:31:09 Oh, yeah, we didn't do-

Andrew Manganelli 1:31:10 Oh, we haven't done trivia.

Speaker 1:31:11 Trivia.

1:31:12 – 1:35:29

Trivia scores

Andrew Manganelli 1:31:12 Woo.

Marques Brownlee 1:31:12 We still have to do... Ah, dude.

Speaker 1:31:14 Trivia. Dude, actual trivia. That's so funny.

Marques Brownlee 1:31:16 Ellis, do you wanna do your question from there?

Speaker 1:31:17 I'm already here.

Marques Brownlee 1:31:18 Yeah, might as well.

Speaker 1:31:19 Guys, what came first? PlayStation Online, which it technically wasn't called PlayStation Online at that point, but, like, you know what I mean.

Andrew Manganelli 1:31:26 Oh.

Speaker 1:31:26 On the PlayStation 2, or Xbox Live? And I'll give you a bonus point if you can name a game that at launch was part of the six titles that had online capabilities on the PlayStation 2. I don't remember all of them off the top of my head.

Andrew Manganelli 1:31:51 I, you keep saying that and I can't tell if you're giving away the answer or not.

Speaker 1:31:55 I don't know if it was a launch title on the PlayStation 2, but I know when the online service launched, this title was, like, launched with it, too.

Andrew Manganelli 1:32:02 But I feel, well-

Marques Brownlee 1:32:03 Flip or no flip?

Andrew Manganelli 1:32:03 You wouldn't guess by what I flip-

Speaker 1:32:04 What do you-

Andrew Manganelli 1:32:05 ... but I'm assuming you're giving away the answer by saying-

Speaker 1:32:08 But all of us still picked Xbox. [buzzer]

Speaker 1:32:11 Yeah, you're all wrong.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:11 We all picked-

Speaker 1:32:12 I feel like you were giving it away by constantly saying-

Marques Brownlee 1:32:14 He was indeed

Speaker 1:32:15 ... pick one of these, and also-

Marques Brownlee 1:32:17 I really thought-

Speaker 1:32:18 ... pick the next part of the-

Speaker 1:32:20 Nah

Speaker 1:32:20 ... correct answer that I'm giving up

Speaker 1:32:21 ... I, I know. That, that would make sense, but it was just 'cause PlayStation was, like, in the, in the thing.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:25 So Need For Speed wasn't one of them?

Speaker 1:32:27 Oh.

Speaker 1:32:28 Uh, Need For Speed was not one of them. Uh-

Speaker 1:32:30 Oh

Speaker 1:32:30 ... those might have launched with it on the Xbox, but the only game that I really recognized is, like, oh, yeah, I know that game, is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:37 There's no online.

Speaker 1:32:39 Nice.

Speaker 1:32:39 Yes.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:40 So it was on PlayStation?

Speaker 1:32:41 It was on PlayStation. Yeah.

Speaker 1:32:42 Next question.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:43 Next question.

Speaker 1:32:43 The iPad Pro first generation came out in 2015, but do you remember how much RAM it had? Go.

Speaker 1:32:49 I thought it had way more than this.

Marques Brownlee 1:32:50 Pro.

Speaker 1:32:51 Pro.

Speaker 1:32:52 There's two answers, right?

Speaker 1:32:53 Two answers, one point each. The score, while you guys do that, Marques with zero, Andrew and David tied at one. Because the score is reset after each round-

Marques Brownlee 1:33:04 The first one? The first Pro?

Speaker 1:33:05 The first generation Pro.

Speaker 1:33:07 No, you know what?

Speaker 1:33:08 Wait, it was an iPad Pro, or it was, like, an iPad, just bigger?

Speaker 1:33:11 I- what?

Speaker 1:33:11 Huh?

Speaker 1:33:12 iPad Pro.

Speaker 1:33:12 Oh. Oh. Yeah, whatever.

Marques Brownlee 1:33:16 I can't decide on how much the other one would be. Hmm.

Speaker 1:33:18 Yeah, it's-

Marques Brownlee 1:33:19 But...

Speaker 1:33:20 Flip 'em and read. What do you got? Oh, wow.

Speaker 1:33:22 Oh, we ran the gamut.

Marques Brownlee 1:33:23 We all have different answers.

Speaker 1:33:24 This is different.

Speaker 1:33:24 Okay, Marques, go first.

Marques Brownlee 1:33:26 I said one gig and two gigs. [buzzer]

Speaker 1:33:29 One gig is wrong. [ding] Two gigs is right.

Speaker 1:33:32 For, wait, for the bigger one?

Speaker 1:33:33 We'll see. We'll see.

Marques Brownlee 1:33:34 That sounds-

Speaker 1:33:34 Andrew, what'd you say?

Speaker 1:33:35 I said two gigs and three gigs.

Speaker 1:33:37 Two gigs and three gigs?

Speaker 1:33:39 Yeah. [ding]

Speaker 1:33:40 Two gigs is correct.

Speaker 1:33:41 Hmm.

Speaker 1:33:41 So you get the point. David, what'd you say?

Marques Brownlee 1:33:44 I said four gigs and six gigs. [laughs]

Speaker 1:33:46 Four gigs and six gigs. [ding] You get the point.

Speaker 1:33:49 Wait, 'cause four is right?

Speaker 1:33:50 Four is right.

Marques Brownlee 1:33:51 So it's two.

Speaker 1:33:51 Am I the only person-

Marques Brownlee 1:33:52 It's two and four

Speaker 1:33:53 ... but am I the only one who got it r- I'm not trying to change. I know people get mad-

Speaker 1:33:56 No, you did not get it right

Speaker 1:33:56 ... when I bring it up. I'm not trying to change anything. I-

Speaker 1:33:58 You did not get it right.

Speaker 1:33:58 What?

Speaker 1:33:59 That you didn't get it right.

Speaker 1:33:59 Two was on the lower... I'm the only one who got it right on the correct model is what you said.

Speaker 1:34:02 Oh, yeah, but that was, that wasn't the question.

Speaker 1:34:04 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:34:04 It was just-

Speaker 1:34:04 I'm just saying. Bonus.

Speaker 1:34:06 [laughs]

Speaker 1:34:06 Fake point. Look at Andrew.

Speaker 1:34:09 Nice.

Marques Brownlee 1:34:09 So was it three and... No, it was two and four.

Speaker 1:34:11 Two and, two and four.

Marques Brownlee 1:34:12 Oh, I was gonna guess three and four, so, okay. Well.

Speaker 1:34:14 Two, two gigs on the 9.7 inch, four gigs on the 12.9 inch.

Marques Brownlee 1:34:18 We'll take it.

Speaker 1:34:19 We'll take it.

Marques Brownlee 1:34:19 Well, that leaves, uh, a couple more points out there now. We appreciate the-

Speaker 1:34:24 [laughs]

Marques Brownlee 1:34:24 ... resetting the score for-

Speaker 1:34:25 I know

Marques Brownlee 1:34:26 ... the trivia extravaganza, so we'll have plenty of time to build up points over the new season. But anyway, thanks for watching. Thanks for listening, and thanks for, of course, following and rating.
