Welcome to the Huberman Lab Podcast

Welcome to the Huberman Lab podcast. I am Dr. Andrew Huberman. My plan in creating this podcast is to discuss neuroscience: how our brain and its connections with the organs of our body controls our perceptions, our behaviors, and our health. I will also discuss tools for measuring and changing how our nervous system works. Upcoming episodes will cover: sleep and how to get better at sleeping, learning, dreaming, as well as motivation and focus and how to access more focus. We will also cover neuroplasticity, fear, and stress. Along the way, I will discuss behavioral tools ("do's and don'ts"), and the role of nutrition, exercise, supplements, prescription drugs and electronic devices for measuring and changing the way our nervous systems work. To suggest additional topics, please enter them in the comment section below. Also, be sure to "like" any comments suggesting topics you're interested in. I will shape the content of future podcasts accordingly. WHAT IT’S REALLY ABOUT

Huberman Lab Launches Deep-Dive Science Podcast Shaped Directly By Listeners

  1. Andrew Huberman introduces the Huberman Lab Podcast as a show dedicated to science and science-based tools that can be applied to everyday life. Unlike many podcasts, each month will focus on a single topic—such as motivation, focus, sleep, or learning—and explore both the underlying neuroscience and practical tools. Episodes will mix solo teaching with in-person and remote guests, spanning behavioral strategies, nutrition, supplementation, prescription drugs, and brain-machine interfaces. Huberman also invites listeners to actively shape future content through the comments, and humorously notes his bulldog Costello as a recurring background presence.

IDEAS WORTH REMEMBERING

5 ideas

The podcast will focus on one topic per month for deeper learning.

Instead of switching topics every episode, each month will be devoted to a single subject—like motivation and focus—covering what science knows, what it doesn’t, and how that knowledge translates into actionable tools. This structure allows for cumulative learning and more nuanced understanding over several episodes.

Science will be translated into practical, science-based tools for everyday life.

Huberman emphasizes not just explaining neuroscience, but also extracting tools people can use to improve focus, sleep, learning, plasticity, and other aspects of brain and body function. Episodes will connect mechanisms and research with real-world behaviors and practices.

Multiple categories of tools will be examined, including what to do and what to avoid.

Tools will include behavioral practices (things to do), behavioral omissions (things to avoid), nutritional approaches, supplements, prescription drugs, and brain-machine interface devices. The podcast will assess each tool’s potential benefits and drawbacks rather than promoting one-size-fits-all solutions.

Listener input will significantly shape future topics and content depth.

The comments section is positioned as a key feedback channel where listeners can propose topics, request more information on specific areas, and vote on others’ suggestions. Huberman commits to monitoring both comments and their likes to prioritize upcoming series.

The show will feature varied formats to explore topics thoroughly.

Some episodes will be solo lectures by Huberman, others will involve in-studio guests, and some will bring in remote guests via video conferencing. This variety is intended to provide both structured teaching and diverse expert perspectives.
